its not much of a sport atm if you have 1 team dominating and that team has a clear no.1 and does not allow them to race and probably gives 1 guy a different car.
@@ddha0000 It's not much of a sport if it is not a British driver dominating. Fixed it for you. Red Bull is dominating for about a year now after Ferrari dropped of last season and people are whining like it has been going on for a decade. The Mercedes era lasted 8 years, but of course that is completely different, because reasons. While it was alright watching Rosberg and Hamilton clash, as a non Mercedes fan still not a great season, but there is a reason why Mercedes hired Bottas after that. Drivers from the same team crashing into each other is something any team would try to avoid. I don't think they planned for the Hamilton and Rosberg rivalry either. Hamilton was brought in as the big star, Rosberg was just kinda there already and I don't think Toto and Lauda really thought that he would take so many wins from Hamilton.
To me, Max’s 9 wins in a row are a bigger accomplishment than Vettel’s 9 in a row. Vettel’s nine came at the end of the V8 era at the end of the 2013 season when the car was dominant, he was starting from P1 or P2 in every one of those wins and all the teams had moved onto the 2014 cars in development. Max is doing this in the second year of the new rules and of course, his car is dominant, but he’s doing it while other teams are developing their cars and he is not always starting on the front row. Vettel’s record is still impressive but I find what Max was doing as even more amazing. I think that absent someone crashing into him or a failure, Max can easily win the remaining races except for one: I think Alonso can beat him in Singapore if Fernando manages to get on pole position. Fernando beat Vettel in 2010 with an epic quali lap and then held him off the whole race even though Seb had a faster car. Other than that, I don’t think Max will lose.
I see your point, but you could also argue that vettels record only ended after the biggest rule change in engines the sport has seen, had it still been a V8 season his record could've extended even more
@@kieranm2514 you’re simply wrong. Vettels only competition that year was Webber. On top of that, the rb19 is not a dominant car despite all the claims that it is. It is the most complete and balanced car yes. But the margins with mclaren, mercedes and aston martin are not that big. Max is dominant and it’s just to hard for a lot of people to admit. Max Verstappens pace compared to Perez and Perez is not a bad driver he’s actually quite fast. Look at those laps that Perez was leading in Zandvoort and Max gained 7 seconds in 3 laps and 4 seconds in one lap. That’s insane
@@sxn_yannick1072Perez is B- driver and severely lacking in confidence and team support and getting hammered by the media. Verstappen appears to be a A+ driver,. Unless he's up against one of the other A+ drivers, ham and Alonso we'll never know how good verstappen is. Charles, lando and maybe George are A drivers, even those I'd anticipate wouldn't have allowed this run of win if they were teammates to max
There are always so many critics about Viaplay. So I do not believe anything about it, when he said everyone was happy. That would then be the first time in nearly 2 seasons. But the fact they have now Guido as commentator, is possibly already an improvement of the often criticised commentary. As Guido has never been between the names of critics.
@@ddha0000it’s his second year. Mercedes still won the constructors in 2021. However with that said I don’t think that is because the merc was better. They were very evenly matched cars with redbull being more dominant at the start of the season, then merc moreso at the end. I think the reason merc wonthe constructors was more due to bottas outperforming perez than merc having a better car without doubt.
I think with the car he has he's built up a consistency that other drivers will find hard to match until they are in a similar situation. It's a combination of great car and great driver.
It's so hypocritical and petty of Hamilton now to be inciting that RB19 plays the bigger role in Max's domination. There seem to be no end to Hamilton's cheap shots and unclassy nature.
To all Max haters, we are in Max Verstappen erra and i know he will be celebrated by everyone only after he retires or he starting loosing. Cause currently he has not put a single step wrong.
Peolpe don't give him credit at all as at his first attempt(while competing all year for the title), he scored the maximum podiums record which the previous drivers despite 8 years Merc run couldn't do considering the fact that for a podium you have to just finish top 3 only. Then at his second attempt in an all year fast car, he scored the most wins in a year set in 2004(tied in 2013) which again couldn't be beaten in 7 attempts(2014-2021). Now in his third year ,he beat the record for the most consecutive race wins which was set in 2013 and couldn't be beaten in all these years despite multiple opportunities and now he's going for the Maximum race wins, Maximum podiums in a season(set in 2021) , Most laps led in a season( 2013) , Most championship points , Biggest gap to P2 , etc. If we talk about records then no driver in history has thrashed the field with such amount of violence and in such a short period of time as we did not see this level from Lewis in his 8 years at Mercedes. He went from Karting - 2013 to F1 - 2015,that is absolutely nuts
statistics dont make a great driver, how foolish to think so. Look at Senna's records whos widely recognised as one of the best. Max has no compettion with neweys car. he struggles when ppl are close with him and that will be his demise.
@@saycero yes agree the overall accumulated statistics don't matter like most wins overall coz they depend on your luck and how long you had the car but the in-season statistics do matter coz it show that even if you had the good car for one season, how destructive your reign was. like winning from different positions matters as it shows you had to fight. Number of consecutive victories matter as no matter how good your car is, still it's very very hard to win consecutive races and 9 specially is a big number as you can't afford to have tangles on the track or possible dnfs or any mistake that could take away the streak. Some stats matter just like Senna, he may have had 41 wins till he was but he had 65 poles, that's quite staggering and he won the monaco 5times back to back. He even had many consecutive laps led streak.
@@thijsboef7496 we’ve all seen Max struggle as all the initial years were all hard work as he was in the most dominant era on F1 with Lewis in his merc yet Max managed to win on some weekends which is contrary to what lewis says as in Max era he can’t win a race but in Lewis era max won races albeit with a slow car and now he has a dominant car and he’s wiping the floor off everyone
@@gauravdevrani4298 i agree, in the Renault-era...but because of shitty engines, never out of lack of skills.....mentally he is also in a whole other league....Shamilton has collapsed under Max his preasure...
It's extremely underestimated! Because Checo is nearly 200 points behind! Yes the RBR car is amazing, but Max is getting the Max out of it! A driver's ability should always be compared with his team mate. Just look at Hamilton and Bottas... their gap was around 100 points each season, significantly less for Hamilton and Rosberg or Vettel with Webber. Checo have won 5 races in the last 3 years in the same Red Bull... whilst Max have won 38 races. So yes, Max's success definitely underestimated, as RBR wouldn't be winning championships without him, he makes the RBR car look like it's unbeatable.
I dont think Max is a better driver because he does sim racing. Its not a 1 to 1 comparison. However i do think Max more easily maintains his abilities because of his constant practicing in sim racing. Doesnt make him better, but it stops him from losing his edge.
Tom is far more interesting on P1 than here . Don’t understand why he is holding back . He has so many interesting opinions and throws crazy Max Verstappen stats when making his points. Why was he holding back here . Don’t know
Nah don’t agree, I hardly can watch P1 due to the flashy over the overacting way of presenting. Finally good information and insight without all the drama
Long story short: Max is underestimated. Fernando Alonso already talked about this. Anyone who is and was against a British driver will always have to work twice as hard, will be undermined by the British media which then the fans who listen to British bias will echo, a non British driver being a threat to a British driver and his legacy will always be bullied by British press and British driver's fans.
Max Versttappen is very underrated,.. He has the Fastest F1 car on the grid today & it is Not easy to tame such a horsepowered beast, just look at Perez performance. Max is one of the best of all time & I enjoy watching Max perform. Its Thrash Metal. Sir Lewis Hamilton is also very underrated. I say the same about Lewis, had the Best car for Years but he had to tame the Beast. George Russell is also very underrated. I am looking forward to seeing George in a fast beast. I love watching talent & the whole grid is Talent but there are a few who are exceptional.
No..Max is great no doubt..May even become the greatest but its disrespectful for all the media to wax lyrical about how he's the GOAT with Lewis still sat there and not finished on the grid!
It's inevitable, it will happen with Max as well, unless he quits in a few seasons, which is likely. There's an overload of media creators that simply want to push as much content as possible, often based on rumours. Even Sky Sports is incredibly biased, I hate the fact they report every race. There should be at least ONE neutral race report, for those who don't feel the need for Brits constantly ejaculating their nationalism to focus on British drivers. Finally the Hamilton era seems (temporarily) finished, which decreases the level of "exceptionalism".
Max Verstappen. I saw the Genius in Max in his First race and clearly knew that Max would be a Champion within the next 3 years. Max is The Best driver in F1, and will be the Most talented in F1. The lovely character about Max is he is a great character, Very well good mannered, a Clean driver on track, and never cheats. Max is also a Example to All on and off track and a Leader, and Ambassador for F1 Sport and General. Max has the right attitude of racing in that he focuses on the race and Not the Championship’s. All of the Very Best to you Max and your family. Big Well done Jose and your wife in raising such a Top fine son. Be Very very proud. Stay safe Drive safe and Always keep smiling. JB. East Surrey. UK.
It's reasonable to suggest that Max's current success has as much to do with Max's talent as it does with the current regulations regarding budget caps and engine development caps. I'm not saying Red Bull has done anything wrong - to the contrary - in the context of the current rules set, they've done everything right. What I am saying is the other teams are finding out the hard way you just can't throw money at the problem anymore.
All redbull needed in the previous regulation was a Power Unit that was close to Mercedes to beat them. They had the driver and the car for years but the PU was no match.

So sad that every achievement rightly or wrongly needs to be questioned and dissected by nearly men or wannabe drivers. Get a grip and just enjoy the sport and the beautiful sport that is motor racing!!!
its not much of a sport atm if you have 1 team dominating and that team has a clear no.1 and does not allow them to race and probably gives 1 guy a different car.
I see your point, but you could also argue that vettels record only ended after the biggest rule change in engines the sport has seen, had it still been a V8 season his record could've extended even more
Vettel had competition where as Verstappen doesn’t because the car is over a second faster therefore Vettel’s is more impressive
You wrote that whole paragraph when you could sum it up to "I like Max so his achievements are better"
TOMMY! A perfectly ordinary Max Verstappen fan.

Very good podcast, well done chaps.
Sky Sports f1 aka Damon Hill, Ted, doesn't often recognized Max. British most of all. Not you Tommy 😉
A British man designed the car and manages the team and the factory is in Britain cough cough ;)
No way! Tommy on Sky F1!
This is only the second year Max has a WCC car. Imagine if he has as many years of WCC car as 44 had…
er..........its his third year. and unlike Max, lewis actually had competition.
LH44 had competition most of the years.
Imagine if LH44 had vettel RB car...
Speaking of competition … I don’t think 55, 3, 10, 23, 11 are lesser driver than 77.
i cant wait till Massa wins the Case against lewis his first WDC xD gonna be good hahahhahahahaha
Weird to see Tom without Matt
Better in my opinion.
Giedo is great character, I can’t say I knew much about him before.
Screwed by Monishia Kaltenborn, when she ran Sauber back in 2014.
Strange, he is a F1 legend. 😉
@@PickupthePieces76 😜
Any chance the Sky racing people would do coverage of both IMSA and WEC, especially the GTP(h) and LMP catagories.
I think with the car he has he's built up a consistency that other drivers will find hard to match until they are in a similar situation. It's a combination of great car and great driver.
Yes Tommy, proud!!
Tommy! Great to see
Go Tommy
It's so hypocritical and petty of Hamilton now to be inciting that RB19 plays the bigger role in Max's domination. There seem to be no end to Hamilton's cheap shots and unclassy nature.
He projecting what he knows about himself 😂
TOMMMMY!!!!!!!❤🎉
Jos got the dutch f1 attention. And then came max
Tom! So good to see him there.
P1 Tommy!! Nice…
To all Max haters, we are in Max Verstappen erra and i know he will be celebrated by everyone only after he retires or he starting loosing. Cause currently he has not put a single step wrong.
Great Podcast!!
@@saycerotell me when you've seen Max struggle 😂😂😂😂😂
A Great Podcast thanks guy,s for this i love it .
Tom "Max Verstappen fan" Bellingham XD
About time we have a English guy thats not bias against Max .
It is, i said it before.. People's ignorance are insane. But Max driving speaks for itself.
I dont think Max is a better driver because he does sim racing. Its not a 1 to 1 comparison. However i do think Max more easily maintains his abilities because of his constant practicing in sim racing. Doesnt make him better, but it stops him from losing his edge.
Gideo trying to wind up a few Lewis fans by saying he didn’t have the quickest car in 21…. Which is true

Finally good information and insight without all the drama
what a wonderful podcast!
the tommy thumbnail sold me
Long story short: Max is underestimated.
My boy Tom!!!!!!
Tom is the new Pikachu ❤ the thumbnail is nearly as good as the screenshot from their vlog

Tommmmmm yes!!
"Content creators" without a content who do not add much to our understanding of F1 related subjects
Finally the Hamilton era seems (temporarily) finished, which decreases the level of "exceptionalism".
alright did matt hack the sky sport channel to get tom in the video 🤣great to see the lads on the big stage

SKYP1 WITH TOMMY AND FANS
Itd be even more impressive if he won with class.
They cheated so they havent done everything right. And lets see if they are again over the budget in 2022. Report coming in september or october.
What i love with the budget cap are that Mercedes can't buy themself to the top.
@@gollese RB bought themselves to the top by cheating in 2021 and most likely in 2022. Report coming in october. Stay tuned.
