Very nice guitar ! I have a smaller bodied 1974 Tokai, made in the Gakki factory, I've owned it since new, and although it needs a total rebuild now, it still sounds incredible. Love the storytime by the way, a nice accompaniment to a Sunday afternoon Gin & Tonic. Cheers !

Dave, thanks for the road trip. Thoroughly enjoyed it. That Mountain guitar looks and sounds quite nice! Looks a lot like my Fender F65. A BLATANT copy of a Martin. It was also made in Japan in 1975. Your appears a bit nicer than mine. I've been dragging mine around since the 80s. Think it belonged to a country music player before me. Light belt buckle scratching on the back. Enjoy the guitar, it looks great!
Great find Dave, sounds awsome. I love the sound of dead strings on my sigma 0015m, reminds me of Nick Drake with that warm dead thud sound on the bass strings😊

Great stories and vid Dave! That guitar looks like a good copy of a Martin D18 (think maybe even early D17 that wasn't made for long and possibly had rosewood fretboard) both solid mahogany back and sides with sitka spruce top. D18 has ebony fretboard but the sound and similarity to a martin is damn good. Great price for that, as early Japanese built acoustics and electrics are quite sought after as really well made. A great find and now its in the hands of someone who will bring many smiles to many faces awesome!

I enjoyed your random stories. Here's one from me. I have a 34 year old Marlin acoustic (one letter away. No wonder they changed to Tanglewood) with a similar aged to amber top. It seems that one owner did the same to that as I did to mine, with the hole drilled to enable a soundhole pickup jack to fit through. I need to clean & condition its fretboard too.
You look so much better when you are clean-shaven. Loved your stories (even though I had to interrupt one to rock some Elton John....not sure why). That acoustic is pretty sweet. I hope to see some more of it.

Great sounding and looking guitar. Japan luthiers were excellent back in the 70's. I have three Hohner historic series guitars (HG series) from the 70's, a D28 copy with Vneck, a D41 copy, and a Guild 12 string copy. All are great sounding guitars, enjoy your new guitar! That guitar would be a Marytin D18 copy due to mahogany back and sides, and should be sitka top.
Nice Dave... I always wanted an acustic..my aunt bought me one before she died but its unplayable .it an old global parlor guitar its tiny. I would use it but the bridge is coming put of the body jst with string tension..sux but I keep it because she was great and it was a great gesture of her to get it for me whilst suffering from cancer..cancer sux.. I have been scared of it my whole life .but I'm stupid and still use Tobacco after seeing my mother ,her mother and her two sisters pass from cancer.. I've tried to quit and do for a while then give in.,I'm ashamed to admit that. But were all freinds here..🤍🤍👍✌✌

Couldn't believe I missed this until I realized I was in hospital and it was week after I'd been told I had less than 12 hours left before an afternoon out courtesy of the undertakers but I'm still here 6 months down the line and still rockin' (ish)

Love your play style, You laid down a lot of nice lick but a couple caught my ear as i was looking away working on some things so i had to look. it was from 25:12 to 25.22 any chance you could take a minute or a video to go over those a little slower for those of us trying to get there but not quite there yet. Oh yes, had one of those CF Mountain acoustics a few years ago. Bought it for 30 quid on Shpock, really nice sounding guitar and good quality. Sold it later for a fair profit. 🤔
Hey Dave, yeah I recorded a Rythem on my Zoom Q8,them play back threw headphone jack into line 6 jam 75, and played with the beat, I'm going to use two Q8'S to use it like Old School two cassette recorders, like Amy Lee did or Billie Eilish, hope I didn't butcher the spelling, wishing you well, and hoping to get found, been writing and perfecting my sound,Troy, Great Find, Martin huh!!
I think your cameras on auto iris, it adjusts to the light outside, so your dark. Try manual iris and adjust on inside car shots I dig the vid, the ride along, and good on the new guitar 🤘
Reminds me of my old 70s Martin sigma....mine also has the adjustable bridge with missing screws...and the exact same cheap tuners...but hey they seem to lock in and work....and had a pick-up at one point...I paid £8 for it at a car boot sale I keep it in open D for slide and the smiths headmaster ritual....for some reason it suits and "comes alive" in open tuning more than standard .mines a laminate rosewood back and sides and a laminate spruce top...some people reckon that the old early 70s sigma have solid wood but mine is definitely laminate albeit good quality laminate and like your sounds very rich and is very lightweight compared to my tanglewood sundance...of course I'd love a real d28 but cannot justify the price as they're overpriced IMHO...I wonder dave if your and mine were made in the same Japanese factory.?? ...mine needs a good set up but as I use it for slide it does fine...you make yours really sing...I'm a big fan of your playing and vibe....

Mountain or Martin, doesn't matter... that guitar has a gorgeous, balanced, rich tone.
