fixing up a beaten up guitar is such a fun project. I got a cheap Morgan Legend at a flea-market and gave it new life. It had a lot of dings, deep scratches, yucky grime and even a lot of picks sticked on with gum. Painted in in the same color as my Chevy pickup project. automotive paint, 2k clear coat. It turned out nice and I'm just gonna sell it now because it wasn't really a guitar I needed.

You're a veritable "Gandalf of Guitars"! 😁 I'll be watching these videos on this guitar very closely as I've got ambitions to try and save my very first guitar (an Encore) from the ruins of the loft and maybe pimp it out a little. There's nothing like taking a cheap piece of crap and making it play like a dream. I recently picked up a Strat copy at a yard sale for $15. It was crusty dirty and the strings were just a mess. New strings and lots of adjusting and feels like heaven. One of my favorites now! Love these videos!👍😎🎸🎶

There will be young people up and down the length of the country wondering why the heck they can't get their little Yamaha amp to sound like that :-) . Love the guitar - reminds me of the beaten up old rubbish that I could afford way back (it was hard times in the 70's so cast off's - read scrap - were the order of the day). It's definitely got the look - I would just change the machine heads and bridge, clean (and glue) the body and then give a light wax to retain as much of the grunge character as possible. Who needs a big name badge on the headstock ?

That's one to play in the post apocalyptic times.
This whole video is like a found-footage horror movie. I expected you both to get dragged into the strange netherworld within the guitar of doom.
The problem with really high action is that it can sound good and super clean and then you have to go back to the reality of what's playable afterwards.
Overall, it sounded good to me.
There are some reviews of Jim Harley strats on that audiofanzine site automatically translated from French. They feature great lines like:
"First skyscraper electric ... voila! You're young, you think it's good and then we regret ... Mine is false since the purchase ... The guy who designed it was no good glasses"
Keep up the good work, matey.

The pickups and pickgaurd look like an old Chinese Kramer I have that has a plywood body and it has the same holes in the back cavity. I’m actually working on this guitar while this video came on. I have some humbuckers that look like they’re made the same way these pickups are. The humbuckers sounds great. They’re blade style like Joe Braden pickups. I was hoping these single coils good. I’m about to put them in a guitar I’m putting together.

Wiring looks like Rory Gallagher's one, with middle pot not used, master tone and master volume for all 3 pick ups. The neck itself is worth the 40£. I'm surprised of good tone from ceramic pick ups or is it the Boss amp embellishing it ? About the shim, why not uding a plastic credit card instead of cardboard, for a better transmission of neck vibration ?
