    Well presented with very nice verbal audio enhances tutorial. Thank you for not ruining it with music. I like all your presentations as you very carefully elucidate and don't go too fast. Your disclaimer at end is important (as you cannot really make the rods thru machining, and the threads would never work in the real world as no tolerance would bind
    and lock). Outstanding presentation on how to model.

    This worked for me when creating the Helical and Fillet.(Ben Taylor)"I increased the pitch of the thread to 3.25mm instead of 3mm. I was then able to use the 0.75mm fillet. No matter what size fillet I used (even went as low as 0.1mm) It still kept showing the same error message".

    Is there any way to "crush" or fold the spring?
    or any other object?
    And I don't mean the stress simulation, I really mean a way to animate objects like a spring to fold or something.

      yes i can use circular profile for thread cutting but the design not to close the real view, but its good idea to avoid the calculation load on PC, i am using Workstation laptop with professional graphics card.

      You "should" have an nVidia Quadro or AMD Firepro graphics card to activate "Real View" in the workspace. I say should, because there's a hack for some of the GTX cards to enable Real View, but I wouldn't recommend it, and anyone even remotely serious about SolidWorks should be using a professional card in my personal opinion. A cheap Quadro with good performance for beginners would be a K2000 or K2200.

    • @garetz2011
      @garetz2011 5 лет назад

      @@MrMairu555 Good to know. No, I am not serious on SW! I like to sketch and create lockworks, I don't care for rendering. I can't sketch on SW... many years using Autocad.

    • @MrMairu555
      @MrMairu555 5 лет назад

      @@garetz2011 No problem. I'm glad my reply helped explain why the materials do not look as good. As I say, you can bypass the limits on some nVidia GTX cards if you wish to. Just search for "nVidia Real View hack" to see how it's done. For non-serious use a "gaming" card is fine, but they can struggle with certain aspects of 3D manipulation within SolidWorks because of the way the it's programmed to use Quadro/Firepro features that don't physically exist in consumer cards.

    • @garetz2011
      @garetz2011 5 лет назад

      @@MrMairu555 MY Alienware has a GT 750M... Yes. I use a notebook. There is no space at home for a desktop.

    • @MrMairu555
      @MrMairu555 5 лет назад

      @@garetz2011 Unfortunately (fortunately for myself because I'm in a lucky position😊) SolidWorks is leaning harder and harder on GPUs with each successive release, although it's still "single core" software as far as core programming goes. That means older hardware will only become more and more restrictive. If you're using an older version, say SW2014-15 then the "real view hack" may work for you.
      If you can afford it though, I'd really urge anyone wanting to learn SolidWorks to consider buying a pro-grade laptop. It doesn't need to be the latest and greatest, and even something like a DELL Precision M6600 with a Quadro Kx000M (or even Mx000M) can be found for about £250, and will make your experience so much better. I personally like to design in real view a lot, as I get a much more realistic interpretation of my parts, but often need to turn it off when working in certain planes as the surface finishes can be too bright to see sketch lines. Conversely, my friend never uses real view, and never renders parts, so it's all down to individual preferences. But what we can agree on, is even a really cheap Quadro is well worth it.
