This album is purely amazing, a work of art. Euclid has an easter egg to a song from Sundowning. Are You Really Okay is a song that makes you wanna cry. Guitar breakdowns in Ascensionism and Take Me Back To Eden are eargasm. This is their best work album and work yet. Album is 10/10, AOTY
Yep! That was the moment that for me, really hit me when that moment from The Night Does Not Belong To God comes back in. It's definitely a masterpiece of a record but for me, most importantly, it's something that is divergent from what we're hearing. Similar to the new Avenged Sevenfold album as well - lots of avantgarde and forward thinking material coming through and I love it! Exciting times!
Couldn't agree more, the more easter eggs the better as far as I'm concerned there was also a callback to Chokehold as well on Take Me Back to Eden as well if i remember right?
THE NIGHT BELONGS TO YOU!!! 😭💔💜 Euclid was the closest thing to Vessel speaking to his fans that I think he could. Long time fans can feel a personal connection to the journey
Great review!! I completely agree this album is a masterpiece. The way the album flows is so nice. I adore this album and it’s definitely my AOTY right now.
This is what I was referencing when I said how Metallica was not truly tackling the emotional weight of lyrics involving mental illness, where as what Vessel has done with Take Me Back to Eden, I can tell jsut in your voice revieiwng it, that the complicated issue of struggling with mental health has been handled with an amazing harsh-delecate balance.
That is very, very true. Metallica shone a light on it for sure but Sleep Token have wholeheartedly dove into it and that's not something that everyone is able to do and do it justice. I'll be interested to see what your thoughts are on it when it comes out as I think that it will really resonate with you. I had absolutely no idea that this would happen and in truth, had kind of written ST off for me until Laura showed me Chokehold and The Summoning. There's that sense of Progressive and I mean real progressive about this one that I absolutely love - excited for you to hear it! In all honesty, I thought that Tomb as OK, wasn't all that bothered by it and I think that Sundowning is really great but a bit one dimensional but with this, there's a combination that the band have struck and it's like striking gold. @TheMetalTris Outside of the mask aesthetic and "mysterious" persona of Vessel. I fail to see what makes this band so special, as it just sounds like Imagine Dragons doing their best Messugah impression, extremely shallow, RnB infused metalcore that's been done before, and it's being done poorly. see: Issues, Crown the Empire, etc. The whole pop with occasional metal guitars" is not this super unique innovation, Leprous has been doing it way better since, like 2017. If I wanted to listen to bad tiktok music, I'd just go to tiktok. Out of all the acts to give attention and focus on, you'd pick a dime a dozen pop-djent act. There's better music out there.

It's good but there were a lot of calls for it to be AOTY - but this for me, just hits differently for some reason. There's no right or wrong which is the best thing really!
@@TheMetalTris that is definitely true. I guess it's not all gonna hit the spot with my mind. But you have definitely turned me into a lot of bands that I might have never even considered before I heard your album reviews. Thank you anyway for all the effort you put into your channel
This album seems so overhyped, especially by the ones I’ve seen giving album reviews. I feel like I’m going to just be disappointed by it
I really can’t get into this band. I like other music other then just metal. But Sleep Token are sound like RnB with very few metal elements.
That’s fair enough! At the end of the day everyone has different opinions and I can imagine that ST is very divisive. I used to be one of those people that liked Sundowning but thought they had kind of written their best material on that record. Tomb wasn’t my favourite though I did like some tracks on it.
Still it’s the beauty of music I guess!
And how is that bad? sounds like the perfect formula to create something great. Metal don't need to be all over the place
Wow...all the others albums I heard of this band bored me to death.
I hope this delivers.
In all honesty, I thought that Tomb as OK, wasn't all that bothered by it and I think that Sundowning is really great but a bit one dimensional but with this, there's a combination that the band have struck and it's like striking gold. I can't quite explain why I feel so strongly about this record and I might not at the end of the year but currently, it's my favourite album this year. Thanks for checking the video out!
I cannot get into this band at all. Help? 🤷♂️
This album brought me to snores
hahaha I see what you did there! Fair enough! If it's not for you, then it's not for you :)
I will review this in a very different way, you will see 😂
Hahaha I wonder what this could be ;) - I'll make sure to keep an eye out!
But in all seriousness they are talented with solid lyrics but it's just not my style
Sleep Token? Yeah not a fan of that garbage lmao
Ah that’s fair enough! Why is it that you think it’s garbage though? I’m just curious! You know what the old adage is, one persons treasure is another persons trash eh! Haha
There's better music out there.
beyond excited for this album
brilliant review!
How funny, there I am scrolling through RUclips and then I see a familiar face reviewing the new Sleep Token album.
