- Is it just me? Or is 'Night In The Ruts' by Aerosmith a lot better than many people think? Plagued by delays, costs, drugs and band turmoil, it's a wonder that it ever got made!
I recently got my hands on a pristine Australian first pressing after not hearing the album for many years, and this is what I discovered!
Please, as always, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments. - Видеоклипы
My fav Aerosmith album!
We're part of a very select group! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Coney Island wha???😂. Stupendous review, always loved Think About It (love the cheeky Page reference), and that slide on Cheese Cake! Definitely worth revisiting (Get Your Wings is the one for me…)
Thanks for the tip! I shall endeavour to get my wings on! ✈️✈️✈️
No Suprise is my favorite Aerosmith song. The whole album is filled with great songs and hooks.
Cool choice! It's an underrated gem. Thanks! 🙏
I think more people, like night in the ruts now then back when it came out great obscure album
Definitely!
This record and Rocks are my two fave Aerosmith discs!
Cheers! I'll have to give Rocks another listen. Haven't heard it in 30 years!
You're a fun guy to listen to doing a review. "Steve sounded like he was going to his drug dealer and ws a few dollars short." Riffin' it." Great stuff man. Cool.
Haha! Sometimes you just gotta laugh...😋 Thanks so much for engaging! 🙏
Great album glad you did a video on it. One of my favorites from them. Actually I had no problem with any of their early albums for the exception of the way overplayed songs. After this album kind of hit & miss. Although Pump is pretty decent.
Thank you for watching and engaging! Appreciate the comment. I used to have a few of those early albums (Rocks, Toys) but gave them away when I switched to CDs and never replaced them. Now I’m back to vinyl they might be worth a revisit…
Definitely not just you. I'm about the same age as you and I've loved this album since its release. If I remember correctly the album didn't get a lot of radio play. In my opinion every one of their albums since then sounds like a different band.
Thanks, it’s nice to not be alone! There are some great tracks on NITR, but this is where I stopped my Aerosmith journey. Went out with a bang!
Different sound. Still classic Aerosmith! 👍 Reason being, producer Gary Lyons (Foreigner etc) was at the helm. Jack was there for a bit. Gary gave them a brighter sound and just didn't give them that classic Aerosmith edge imo. The photos were for the single, Chip Away at The Stone 45.
@@bigredmachine1 A great album! Thanks for joining the conversation! 🙏
You young folks out there may not remember the Three Mile Island nuclear reactor meltdown in 1979 which is where the title Three Mile Smile comes from. Checkout the lyrics and it will make more sense. I've always loved Night In The Ruts and after listening to It and Rock In A Hard Place I wish the lineup with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay made more albums. No Joe Perry No Problem. Replacing Brad Whitford was the real challenge.
Ah, got it! ‘He took a dose of radiation dope’. Thanks for the tip about Rock in a Hard Place. Appreciate the comment!
one of the greatest albums Thay ever made, jimmy crespo had a huge influence on this record
His playing on Three Mile Smile (among other things) is outta this world! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Rocks is my favorite but night in the ruts is my second favorite followed by rock in a hard place
So cool! Thanks for engaging 🙏
Oh nice Ric hanging on the wall!!
Cheers!
