I just read Dr. Ben Lynch's DIRTY GENES book and also it's SUMMARY book. Both are great books explaining different types of genetic polymorphisms, their signs and symptoms and their treatment by diet and lifestyle changes and adding certain vitamins, like Methyl B Complex. Both books are a must-have, very informative and educational.

What about all the oxalates and many other antinutrients present in the green leafy vegetables? Do we trade one bad for another? I'm sensitive to oxalates so I usually don't eat green leafy vegetables. I eat plenty of eggs and liver. It must be sufficient for me, right? My problem is histamine overload. I love your presentation. Thank you for interviewing Dr. Ben Lynch. It's pcked full with information.

Parboil your cooked greens (cook for 5 minutes in water, drain, add new water and cook till done.) As for raw greens, I wouldn't bother, but getting plenty of bioavailable calcium in the same meal will help neutralize the oxalates.
Or just take your chances. 🤷 You know your body.

    Good information.
Issue, however, scorecard.org appears to have only data up to 2002 and 2004. I live in Colorado Springs and when I pulled up the data, it seems to be a bit behind in reporting. Have things gotten worse in the last 14-16 years? Have they gotten better?
It seems to be information that would be valuable for those that want to maintain their best health but with outdated information, it loses its punch.
Regardless, the guest is a very interesting guy and I learned a few things today.

April s Maybe that was an acupuncturist or accuppressurist who treated certain meridians? Or a chiropractor who adjusted something? I’ve heard that massaging liver and even pancreas relieve pressure in the bile ducts. I however treat myself with natural foods every morning:
I have been putting a pinch of chanca piedra, a tablespoon each of lemon, and apple cider vinegar in a half cup morning broth or green veggie drink. It works removing pain promptly. And I’m continuing it daily to heal liver and gallbladder. I may do a liver& gallbladder flush at some point. But that is more tiring on my senior body. Lol.

In the wild, chickens (jungle fowl) are eventually all killed and eaten by predators. Whether those predators run around on four legs, or fly, or walk on two liegs - any real difference?
Oh, yeah, except humans can kill their prey humanely, while most predators will cause terror and suffering to their prey as they stalk, run down, and kill them..

I grew up on a dirt farm and we didn't see animals the way people from the city do especially when you are a kid and witness animals being killed for food first hand. Now that I'm far removed from that life, as the owner of three cats I can't imagine killing an animal. But I do realize it's a necessity if I want to keep having three cats.

I love stories from people who grew up in America with land , money & beautiful homes and thoroughbred horses and mass amounts of animals ( which require a ton of money to raise vet farrier and more ),now have beautiful, elite land, money and homes talk about how Americans equate owning things, ( like land, homes and $ ) to happiness, have their thinking and priorities so wrong. The archipelago of the Fiji Islands? Really? Give the middle & lower classes a break. You visited mother Teresa but you didn't stay there did you? You came back to your Pacific Coast million dollar being remodeled on the water large acreage Paradise. This got so fake and nauseating I had to quit listening.

Savina Redpath why do you fight against nature? Life exists because one life consumes another. One life sacrifices its life for another life to continue living.
All things are life so, regardless of what you eat, you're consuming life.

    • @Jefferdaughter
      @Jefferdaughter 5 лет назад +5

Those who chose not to eat meat, or perhaps any animal-source foods, still kill animals. The sea turtles whose insides are full of plastic bags, and the whales that die with guts full of a range of discarded plastic, the fish whose gills are choked with the tiny bits of plastic, and plastic microfibers from their clothing...
These animals, and those that die covered in oil from the spills we have forgotten about, or never heard of at all - they suffered much more than the chicken this boy killed. Or even the chickens in our industrial food system.
If they drive or ride in a vehicle, countless animals were killed directly, or lost their homes to build those roads and ran out of a place to move to. Ditto for the factories where their cars were built. And the oil refined into gasoline, and other petroleum products. More animals are killed by oil spills from pipelines, drilling platforms like the spill in the Gulf of Mexico a few years back, and the spills from tankers like the Exxon Valdez (did Exxon EVER pay the damages they were supposed to pay the people harmed by their negligence? For years they were using that money instead to stall and subvert the purpose of the court system), and numerous other oil spills we have forgotten about, or never heard of.
More animals were killed or poisoned by the dispersants used to make it look like the Gulf was cleaned up - instead of using methods like those developed by Paul Stamets, using straw structures that floated and trapped the oil and allowed specially adapted strains of fungus to 'digest' and take apart the oil naturally.
I could go on... and on and on...
