Like Kevin Stock Dr Ben lynch is an individual worth paying attention to. I've read his book dirty genes and am in the process of re-reading it through again, right now. I'm also part way through his courses on epigenetics in clinical nutrition.
Yet another solid podcast Dr Saladino! Keep 'em coming they're immensely helpful to me as a functional health coach.
Wow, that was a great episode! Loved all the metabolic pathways discussed. In the future I’d love to hear more about treating cholecystisis to avoid cholecystectomy. Also would love to hear more about how supplements are manufactured and what to watch out for.
Please please please do a podcast on the gallbladder and its issues, and remedies for natural improvement.
Ben’s book Dirty genes is an interesting book and an easy read for people who don’t have a science background. Worth a read (or listen as it’s also available as an audio book)
Two of my favorites in one podcast! I know what I’m listening to while I make dinner tonight!
Thanks for this Dr. Saladino, great info, great discussion. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Lynch's book, very accessible to the layperson.
I inherited MTHFR from my dad, his name was Gene.
Excellent information! It does not get any better then Bastyr. Thank you for the work you are both doing. My life is greatly improved because of it....Real Doctors...not pharmaceutical pill pushers...we are blessed! I pray covering over both of you...The powers that be will not like what you are doing💕
I'm a physician in San Diego as well and share your approach to health, do you have a website or contact form?
Great resource, thanks doc!
Paul, in what form are you eating the egg yolks? Raw? Fried? Hard boiled?
raw
Superb content!! Kudos!!
Good god. Took forever to get to the topic.
Enjoyed this. Thank you for all the info. Will be listening again, also looking into the book.
Good interview. Makes me wonder about histamine and methylation. Also how does my depressed ass get as giddy as Paul or Ben on raw steak.
Excited to hear Dr. Lynch is coming out with genetic testing for SNPs. I have found out I am heterozygous for the 677 polymorphism. His testing will help me find out if there is any other polymorphism I need to be aware of.👍🏻
Lost my Gallbladder in late 2016 thanks to a lot of low-fat BS. Wish I'd read about Keto / Carnivore, and knew about my genetics before it got to that point.
Same here!
@@pohkeee both take bile salts and it will mimick the gallbladder.
You guys are the pair ! so SAH is the best measure of methylation status..? i have heard methionine levels and copper also. is it better to take sunflower lecithin than Phosphatydl choline ?
How about COMT++ (slow comt) and the carnivore diet? I think i got immense problems degrading all that catecholamines from the carnivorediet.. could someone help here?!
Is Clinical Synergy Modified Citrus Pectin clean? Please do a follow up on dirty supplements.
Nice podcast. I think the idea of dirty genes is very intresting.
So is the environment that APOE4 is able to thrive in supposed to be a diet of fish, lean meat, and olive and avocado oils? Is that as close to carnivore that APOE4 carriers can get?
Hey, My Homocysteine levels are normal.
But I have severe anxiety/depression/OCD and Chronic Fatigue.
Do I still need to test for the MTHFR gene?
Let examine your thyroid. TSH is not as important as ft3 und fT4
Thanks for your content I really appreciate it. I am a certified health coach, about 90 percent carnivore and working my way to 100, I have clients having success on Keto and Carnivore, I want to take a course on reading bloodwork to further help my clients and myself but as you know there are multiple ways to construe the data, I think mostly along the same lines as you Dr Baker and Dr Niamen. Do you have any suggestions on who to learn from? Is it something you would consult on?
Excellent information once again Paul. Thank you. Can you do some videos on prepping for pregnancy and miscarriages?
So, Dr. Paul, you haven't talked Dr. Ben into going carnivore yet? It sounds like he is almost there.
I read on one of your videos that someone was cutting up the liver, freezing it in small pieces and swallowing it with water. Sounds effective but how much do I need daily?
Thanks for you help!
Sincerely, Susan
Susan Morris-Smith I do this too. I find that when I defrost the pieces on a plate for ten minutes they become like jelly which allows me to swallow quite large pieces. Twice a day I do two side plates (pieces not touching) worth - one for me and one for the cat. A portion of meat is approx the size of the palm of your hand so this is what I do:)
Sarah Thanks Sarah!!! Going to the butcher 🤗
Thank you, excellent ☀️
way too much time spent announcing all your endorsements
What diet would you recomend for a cervical cancer patient dr will be carnivore or keto? Thanks
Answered my question of why i need leafy greens , i dont :) Thx to both :)
You should tag this video with #gallbladder so people looking for this can find it. 👍
Radical and Stoked?
Such a fascinating &complicated subject..Need 2learn more about Methylation..but in the time it takes 2learn more; I love the point, that if u construct a fundamental "healthy" diet, it's kind of irrelevant knowledge..haha😆
Did i miss the part about heterozygous? A1298C
What? Why did you move down there?! 😭😭😭

It would be great to do a dive into Vaping. We carnivores like to indulge a vice here and there. I’m concerned with vaping and eye heath. Would glutathione supplement be a good idea? Per his reference to bad air quality.
I go with lowest nicotine and am about to go zero nicotine. I don’t really get much out of nicotine. Sometimes more red eyes, a rare feeling of constricted blood vessels, drowsiness, dizziness. Yet sometimes a pleasant focus. Like a neuro tropic. BUT it doesn’t seem worth the above side effects. If Joe Rogan can enjoy a cigar now and then...why not vaping?
I've been vaping for 11 years and don't have any issues... Aside from nutritional deficiencies related to MTHFR. It's ok to have a vice 👍🏻
I just found out that I have the heterozygous MTHFR-C677T polymorphism. My homocysteine level is 11.7 (normal), and I am supplementing with Methyl B Complex Vitamins and consuming beef liver and green leafy vegetables. Should I aim for lower homocysteine levels? Thank you in advance. My doctor says that as long as my homocysteine levels are normal, my polymorphism is under control, and my methylation pathways are functioning as it should
11.7 is NOT normal. Optimal is 8 or 9.
The range is taken from averaging a bunch of sick and deseaed people. Not the top 1/3 of healthy people. The top number 12 to 15 you see on blood reports is very HIGH !
Thank you chris..on my lab sheet it says up to 15 is normal. My doctor told me my homocysteine level is normal, but not optimal.
But I know it's not optimal. I am trying my best to reduce my homocysteine levels to an optimal level 7. I appreciate your response. Have a great day.
@@Dolphin_457 Use methyl B12 sublingual ( under tongue) and also TMG Trimethyl glycine also known as Betaine. It will help lower homo. Also take a multi B vitamin but only in the ACTIVE forms !
@@Dolphin_457 Do not go under 7 !
Does carbs like white rice or fruit disrupt the bioavailability of animal based nutrients if eaten together ? Like sushi
No. But why would you want to eat rice? It's just grass seed.
All rice is full of arsenic, so keep eating it if you want to poison your body !
All rice is full of poison - arsenic.
what ? grains ? yeah like fuck !
I like your stuff but 1hr 20 mins is to long, do you do an abridged version?
You having the attention span of a flea doesn't mean Dr Saladino should abbreviate his podcast.
@@robinbeers6689 or maybe other things to do
@@arhu74 That's what the "pause" function is for.
Great podcast, but please just add in your endorsements in the show notes. Way too much time spent on that in the beginning.
I don't mind that he does that. This is some of the best info on the internet. And it is FREE. Although he has a patreon account, he doesn't verbally beg you to support him every video like Ken Berry does "and hey if you find these videos useful please consider throwing a couple bucks our way " blah blah blah in his best used car salesman voice. No thanks Ken Berry. I don't support people who beg me at every turn. You are wealthy enough you don't need anything from anyone least of all sick, poor people!!!!
BTC at 12k....
Please, please Paul, shorten the self promotion at the start. Add it to the end.
What about nutritional yeast??
This was so timely for me. I just yesterday got my blood work results.and my homocysteine and ferritin are elevated and folate and B12 low even tho I eat Carnivore and include egg yolk and lamb liver. I didnt know what to make of it all and low and behold here is the explanation. I'll order his B12 and niacin . I'd love it if you would do a talk on iodine which I started to supplement because my thyroid TSH is 9 and I dont want to take pharmaceuticals for it if I can avoid them. Great talk thank you.
I also have sick headaches and will take 400g B12 for that and I have low energy despite being carnivore for 5 months.
Watch Elliot Overtons video on thiamine
Yeah, the first time you eat raw liver you get high asf. Stuff is like a legitimate pre-workout... puts Monster Energy and 5 Hour shots to shame.
Liver contains small amounts of glycogen too, which is why you get a mini sugar rush if you are carb-free the rest of the time.
Beef liver or chicken liver?
Angel Hoot do they sell it online?
Cant you get warms?
How do i get my dna tested?

Eat yolk rw if you're Preg0
Timestamps please. Do you mention MSM ever? Ive heard lots of good stories about it, natural icelandic water has high sulfur content and prized for health giving effects. but raw liver would supply with sulfur also i think. I started taking msm and eat quite well, think im improving my energy from taking it. I also do the citrates u mention for oxalate control and take silicia. Eat fruit, meat, liver, white rice, raw dairy and eggyolks. I didnt do good on an all carnivore approach . Much better with fruit and veggies for me right now anyway. Like u say we gotta look at our toolbox, some people obviously dont have the toolbox to eat a carnivore diet. Others may only do good on carnivore diet , but this should be an argument for intuitive eating. I think all humans who are fit for carnivore would likely thrive, but not everyone is , like myself. I went from fruitarian straight to raw carnivore, gained good weight back but very low energy and still gut dysbiosis. Still got the dysbiosis but my digestion is better rested with fruits so i get a better energy throughout the day, ill eat meat or fish and fat for dinner and rest to digest.
Oskar Edwall spoken like a sugar addict
MSM made my joints better and hair better but it swelled me up and completely messed up my hormones. I’m a girl, btw 😉
But many thrive on it.
