Is one of the best because of the raw vocals, unparallel agility and complex vocal line and its easy to say thet both her 1993 If it over is probably her best techniquewise but in this performance she transported the entire music industry straight to the gates of Saint Peter

I prefer the Oprah performance of this song, it is so much better, relaxed, no sound issues. But this 2 Divas singing together is really a landmark of Vocal prowess and friendship, they both respected each others art so much and that is why this always worked perfectly
no sound issues. Mariah's voice is just mosquito next to Whitney's. Oprah was in a studio, bigger halls always tell the truth about a voice. Everyone sounds the same in volume in a small room. Not in huge concert halls, Many more room for the voice to reverberate.
Completely disagree Whitney in both Oscar and Oprah was on a mission to show she's a better singer with her messy unneeded runs, overdoing adlibs (non of which she needed to do, everyone who knows singing knows Mariah is not on Whitney's level)
meanwhile Mariah was just happy to be there, she knew she can't compared to Whitney especially not after 1996.
This isn't me saying they were rivals, they're not.
but an artist has pride no matter how humble they show themselves to be amd they'll wanna show their prowess
