You are right but...be honest. Look at the charts today - there you find only trash. No talents, but sex, violence, poor self-expression "artists" or boring singer songwriters. A few exceptions might be there... so no chance for real good pop music like this. Same to OMD's "Don't go" 2 years ago.

Pet Shop Boys have never been some "80s band" that just resurfaced. They have been active and relevant this whole time. Soft Cell on the other hand were more of a one hit wonder, but they still remained somewhat active.

Pet Shop Boys and Soft Cell - Top Musical Icons and am so glad to have been born into their musical era. Been a part of my life and great to see them still going strong.
The beauty of this song, other than the wonderful melody, is the fact that we have grown up - and old - with the PSBs and Soft Cell, and together we feel our age, the love of a bygone era, and the fear of death, but also hope for our lives yet to be lived. The coming together of both bands makes us feel we are now all in it together. I think ‘let’s get out of this life’ means we have the opportunity for a new and different life, for the rest of our lives.

Bei Soft Cell fand ich stets die Perfektion in der Soundprojektion
genial,so dass nach 40 Jahren ihre Produktionen im Mastering auf Box Sets in sehr guter Qualität erhält.
Bei den PSB fand ich stets die Maxis top und auch die vielen Projekte und Remixe für 8th Wonder,Dusty Springfield,Killers,New Order,David Bowie❤,.
Und damals war alles noch analog....

Absolutely Brilliant 👏. Saw Soft Cell perform Purple Zone at Hammersmith November 2020 . I was hooked then. Saw Pet Shop Boy's Neil and Chris leaving afterwards, not knowing they would be there , however was thrilled as another all-time favourite duo of mine. The video/arrangement to Purple Zone is Top Notch. Love seeing Marc serving Ice-Cream's from a Tonibell Van, and Neil serving drinks in the pub. Bless you all.🌈❤😀xx
