But she didn't give me a routine to follow. Because benzoyl peroxide can oxidize vitamin c.its safer to use on opposite sides of your skincare routine. Use one at night and the other in the morning

Yes it is. However using the salicylic acid with the benzoyl peroxide in the morning can leave you with a lot of dryness.

I use duac gel benzoyl peroxide, since benzoyl peroxide does the job of removing the dead skin cells, is a chemical exfoliation necessary? Can i just use benzoyl peroxide every other day, since it does the exfoliating job too. Please correct me if am wrong, thanks in advance❤
Benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that causes inflammatory acne. You still need an exfoliant in your routine

Yes you could but on opposite sides of your routine. Benzoyl peroxide oxidizes retinoids
hi im 15 and i use 10% benzoylperoxide gel every other day with a cleanser and so far i dont see any side effects. Am i doing it right or am i doing something wrong

yes some of my acne in the forehead and cheeks got cleared up but the scars are now my problem and my cleanser is Celeteque Gentle exfoliating wash.
You could add adapalene every other night to encourage fading of your dark marks and to prevent new acne as well. Use a moisturizer after the benzoyl peroxide and adapalene

If you don’t develop any adverse reactions to it then it’s fine.
You could consider the cerave resurfacing retinol serum for your dark spots

You can use with a mild niacinamide but not with lactic acid together
Just came across the video,can you use the 5,% benzoyl peroxide gel with nizoral cream 2% together?
Though not much interaction has been seen between the two, nizoral could cause itching, so pairing it with benzoyl peroxide may worsen the irritation from BP

@@DrJanet although I'm breaking out in areas I'm acne prone, I have breakouts where I've never had them(e.g my neck) before I started using the benzoyl peroxide I had just a few pimples on my face now my face is worse!!!
What other products are u using in your routine?
@@DrJanet I use a lavender cleanser, then I treat with BP5% moisturize with nivea ,apply sunscreen. That's it
@@thenursedee ok a couple of things could be responsible. Either u are having an adverse reaction to the BP or your other skincare products are clogging your skin. If you are acne prone you should use a moisturizer that is oil free and gel based(lightweight) likewise the sunscreens. In the meantime hold off on the BP, discontinue the lavender cleanser too as essential oils can worsen an irritated skin. Get a simple cleanser like the cerave foaming cleanser for normal skin Cerave products contain ingredients to help heal your skin barrier.or the cerave acne wash which contains BP 4%this may be better tolerated by your skin since it’s a rinse off product. Then follow up with an oil free moisturizer. It may take a while but your skin barrier will gradually heal itself

It’s best to use one in the morning and the other at night. Benzoyl peroxide has been known to deactivate salicylic acid

@@jaboujobarteh6364 niacinamide is a wonderful ingredient that supports the skin barrier but some formulations can really irritate an already sensitive skin, that was my experience with the ordinary niacinamide 10% and zinc 1%. However when I tried the niacinamide serum by good molecules I didn't get the same irritation. Hope it helps

Not quite. It can help treat spots though, by reducing the rate at which you break out, this in turn would reduce your post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

I think your skin is purging from the bp. With time it will get better. Your routine is pretty good 👍

Yes you can. It comes in a combination gel and can be used morning and night

You could use the clindamycin first, allow that to absorb then apply the benzoyl peroxide

You can use it both ways.
I’ve been using bp 2% in the morning and glycolic acid toner at night is it okay for me to use them together daily or it will increase that rate of irritation? also my face is so itchy and red and i have small bumps all over my forehead
You are probably experiencing some irritation. Can you cut back on the use of both ingredients and give your face time to heal. Then gradually introduce one before the other to see which is causing the irritation. You could do a Patch test as well before starting.

Can you tell for sure what you are reacting to? Ok try stopping the glycolic and see how that goes. Protecting your skin barrier when treating your skin concerns is very important. Avoid adding any new product or treatment right now. Just allow the irritation to calm down

I been using benzoyl peroxide 5% the gel and I’m using it with clindamycin and my skin his been peeling but it kinda burns I don’t know if that good or bad I use Noxzema as my cleanser and I don’t put lotion on because it burns really bad I just want to know if this is good or bad

Sorry to hear that. Those are some of the side effects of benzoyl peroxide. For now apply it as a spot treatment directly on your pimples and do this Every other day and see how it goes. Hope it helps
