    That was an interesting video. I've wondered how you folks investigate what's available on the load board. I'm not involved in trucking but am interested in some channels like yours. I know you are no longer in hot-shotting but would guess that what you are doing with FedEx is similar. I recently found your channel and have subscribed.

    • @TruckandTravel
      @TruckandTravel  4 года назад +2

      Thank you for the support Ron. The FedEx board for Custom Critical is a little different. Easier to get loads in this game, atleast for me anyhow. In expediting I have a way bigger dead head at times angle gotten paid well for it. In hot shoting I would try to keep the dead head around 150-200. Looking back i should've expanded the dead head and looked for higher paying loads to make up for the dead head. Now in expediting it feels normal to dead head 500 miles. Doesn't bother us if we get good paying load to cover the dead head miles. Thanks for subscribing. I hope you, your family and friends are healthy.

      to be honest i don't want to say. there are a lot that goes into that answer. what location you are at. what it is. length of trip. For the most part it is hard to find 1.90 per mile with deadhead. that was a rare find but I think it may have been a wide load or something cause it was still on the board. usually great loads like that dont last a minute unless by chance you are there at the right moment to grab it.

You still have to make sure you do not put more on the truck then what it says it can handle from the manufacturer, DOT officers are looking. That's all I know.

    • @TruckandTravel
      @TruckandTravel  5 лет назад +4

      +El Toro Transport I do think it's too much for a beginner. I would recommend driving for landstar before starting your own trucking company. But you would have to pick your own loads. I would get a dispatch that takes care of other hot shot drivers so they are more familiar with places to stay away from. Picking your own loads is a lot to take on and causes down time. Dispatch might get you loads while you are driving. Hope that helps. We wish you the best.
