    People need to realize just because you have eleven hrs to drive on your clock it doesn’t mean you will be able to drive the eleven hrs because of time management you need to figure out we’re your going to park for the night and if you’re primary stop doesn’t work out then you need a back up place to stop. I got a quote today from progressive. I want to run some on my weeks off from work. I’m a 7 day on 7 day off schedule. 3/4 ton ram 2500 and a 35ft gooseneck. Insurance was 29,750$ for the year. How on gods creation do people afford to do this? 2500$ month just in insurance. Crazy. Much respect to you guys getting it.

    One you forgot to mention,,you gotta have a plan!!!!! Alot of these companies are out here literally trying to get their money and don't care if you get yours. Meaning you can have all these factors you said checked and yet still not making the money. Brokers look out for themselves. Also to piggy back what you said,have common sense to know you gotta exit in 3 miles get in the correct lane ahead of time. Hard to get over with a long trailer and truck just to say the least.

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  4 месяца назад +1

      Absolutely, having a solid plan is crucial in this industry. You're right-brokers can be focused on their own bottom line. It's all about being proactive and using common sense to navigate the challenges, like planning your exits well ahead of time. Thanks for sharing your insights!

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  3 месяца назад +1

      It all depends on the direction you’re looking to go. Leased on? Own authority? Do you already have a truck etc. But I would say between 20-30k depending on your financial situation and to have at least 10k in reserves after you’ve started.

    Dude,,,,to make this work and actually make any money you have to forsake everything else or you will fail
    I don’t think most people really understand just what you are giving up ie- family, friends, religion, clubs, recreation, everything. In reality you are actually trading your life for money, think about that real carefully and the better you are the more work they will push your way. Which means more of your limited life you are selling away and can never get back.

    • @HotshotMacc
      @HotshotMacc  2 месяца назад

      You're absolutely right, man. The sacrifices are real, and not everyone realizes how much you give up until you're living it-time with family, friends, even your own personal life. It can feel like you're trading your life for a paycheck. But at the end of the day, it's all a choice, and that’s the thing about this business. Everyone’s situation is different, and so is their business model. Personally, I don’t plan on being a driver forever. I see this as a stepping stone. Some people choose to go all in, while others, like me, are working towards something bigger. It all comes down to the choices we make.

    • @prepordietryin9119
      @prepordietryin9119 15 дней назад

      I think it comes down to if it's a good fit for you. I work for the dot in my States and just recently got my CDL class a. I'm wanting to get into this but I have to be able to get me a truck and a trailer an insurance in all the other stuff that goes along with it. But my biggest thing is I don't a girlfriend wife or any kids. I mean I got a mom and a dad but I don't see them every single day. I think this would be a great fit for me at least do it for a few years and rack up some money. I'm tired of working for a limited paycheck. I can't even get overtime at my job because all they pay is comp time. Which just gives me more time off to sit at home and do nothing with no one. The only person I would have to consider is my dog which I would just take him along with me. But I really think something like this would be a good fit for me and other people in my situation. It will give me a chance to hopefully rack up some good money. Some of the people I work with is a DOT used to drive trucks and got a family and chose to take a pay cut and come work at the dot. I actually know a guy that was driving trucks making like $2,200 a week bring home and now he makes like $640 a week bring home but he told me he was staying gone all the time. So now he's traded money for less money but now he is home every afternoon to see his kids. It's all about perspective and what's important to you
