Very nice features no doubt. I don't know what 1/2 would truly handle this though. What set up would be needed on a 1/2 to pull this? Curious to know. My 1/2 would not. But it's a really nice rig. Big shower, big fresh water tank, extra fuel tank, big cabinets. Well thought out.
I'm trying to figure out how I would tow this w/ my ''16 F150 Eco SCREW w/ tow pkg. I'm well under my GCVWR and trailer weight rating for the F150, but not sure how the Tongue Weight listing works. At 920, but the GVWR is 9995, so 12% of that would be 1,200, which is 100lb more than the allowed hitch weight on the F150, and is most of the 1,475lb cargo weight rating of my truck. Would love to see a pic of a Ranger XP in the back.... ;)
You don’t want to tow this with a half ton. The tongue weight will be exceeded with propane and battery. The generator is also an extra 120lbs. Actual tong weight will come in around 1,200. Then you have to subtract that from your payload rating. Then you have to go camping by yourself. I was all over it as well as the Jayco 222. Then I did the math. Now looking at a forest river with tongue weight of 600 dry.
24mpr (imagine xls) is slightly lighter overall with lower tongue weight and gvwr, close enough to do with half ton if you don't load it up too much and 2ft longer overall. But, it's nowhere near as nicely furnished or well built as the momentum 21g. Still need to balance weight and use wdh carefully. Under 30k for 24mpr, not sure pricing on 21g?
Dumb question, but what happens to the bed when the slide comes in? Does it fold up like a murphy bed? Or can you still sleep in the bed with the slide in?
Would you consider doing a really short video showing the 21G with all the slides in? I just want to get an idea of what the living space would be like for very short overnighters where I didn't want to go through the hassle of extending everything. I imagine I could sleep on the couch or the bunkbed. Is there room in the front to put a small twin mattress (when the queen mattress is folded up and put away?).
@@carsonjohnson1845 I know this is an older video, but I was looking a used one. Why wouldn't a talon fit? My Talon is 64" x 154, and I believe the garage dimensions are 72"x14'
Greg Bickal, great question! I’m personally not sure of the comfort level of the roll over sofas when in bed position, as I’ve never slept on the myself. I would say to make sure you have some really good bedding and lots of pillows may help hide the head rests. 😀
Ben borocool, thank you for your question. Unfortunately if you are want to add any amount of cargo to the trailer we wouldn’t recommend pulling this trailer with a 7,500lb tow capacity. The other weight to consider is the payload capacity of the truck which relates to how much hitch weight your truck can handle. We would recommend having a minimum tow capacity of 9,500lbs with a minimum payload capacity of 1,200lbs paired with a 1,200 weight distribution hitch with sway control. Blue OX brand is a great option and the one we offer in store as the best fit. We hope this helps you in your search. Let us know if we can be of anymore help. Thanks!! Team Woody’s Leduc!!😀
Why on earth did Grand Design add a separate black and grey hoses? MAJOR FLAW! Anyone who understands this knows that grey water cleans the hose after dumping black. RV spots NEVER have two hookups. Dump stations NEVER have two dumps. So I guess you will need a Y connection and two hoses....one of which will be so nasty that you wouldn't want to haul it. If you take the extra time to clean it separately, you will be ran out of the park by those waiting in line. This was a deal breaker. We were ready to buy. FYI None of the other G class have done this or any compeditors.
George Hauffe, great question! The Momentum G-Class travel trailer Toy Haulers retail price in Canadian dollars range from the low 50’s to mid 60’s depending on equipment. As equipped the 21G depicted in the video has a retail price of $56,980 + GST which includes the built in Generator. If you didn’t need the Generator you could get it closer to 50k. We hope this helps answer your question. We also have a 25G and 28G going to land at the dealership in Leduc sometime in January and February if you would like to come and see them all. Thanks for your question. We hope to talk to you soon!! Team Woody’s RV Leduc!!😀
☝🏼same here, I bought my fifth wheel bunk house reflection and got a smoking deal, this is more than I paid lmao, massive shower haha yeah right. Brah I am a major supporter of grand design, I love their products, but how much did y’all mark it up?
I just bought one of these 3 days ago 09/17/2020. I paid just over $41,000 USD incl tax, title, etc... Probably could have gotten a better deal if it wasn't for COVID. High demand and low dealer stock means they weren't willing to negotiate much on price.
Dude, you spend so much time hyping every single RV, in almost every video seem inauthentic. It also makes the video unnecessarily too long. Circumscribe to the important stuff: construction quality, features and specs. That is all we need to do. You can also compare it to other models. Check Haylett RV videos and learn a little from Josh.
Outdoorsman2b, thank you for your comments and insight. We also enjoy the style and info shared in the Haylett videos. Josh does a great job and is knowledgeable. We will take your critique under consideration. Take care and Happy Camping!!😀
It's "maybe" half ton tow-able when it's completely empty..... And it doesn't even have torsion axles. Shitty stairs, shitty tires, shitty ladder, plastic here, plastic there, etc, couches you'll never use, and they're facing the wrong way anyway, high end stitching.....because we give a shit about that..... Everything that is actually important is shitty, and everything that doesn't matter is over the top. (lighting, led lighting, strip lights lights on the stove, stupid sound system, lights, lights, lights..........big f-ing deal)
Aren't you just a bundle of joy! According to the numbers, my 2011 Chevy 1/2 ton, Ext Cab reg bed, 5.3L, 3:42 rear end, Heavy Duty tow Pkg will tow it. And that is if the trailer is loaded up to it's max GVWR.
Great walk-thru and explanation, thanks!
Looks great, love Grand Design quality!
Drink a 2 ounce Fireball shot every time you hear the word " folks ".
i died
5mins in I'm loaded
Great rig!

Excellent layout. Best I've seen in a 1/2 ton towable.

What a fantastic layout without the length!
This is a great toy hauler.
But for the money you can get a class c or used class a and pull the bike on a trailer. More comfort and more room.
Great comprehensive video on a very nice rv!

I'd rather have a sink half that size and more counter space, with the roll down screen or left to right screen for weight savings.
Is there storage under the bed?
Should have 16 inch tires.
I'm so waiting for a small toy hauler that does not try to do everything.
Someone needs to try and fit the 2020 can am x3 x rs turbo rr in here
No Honda talon

Nice channel ! We subscribe ! 😄
absolutely love this unit .. what is the street price on this for us Canadian folks ?
71 to 75k, that's asking, but way over priced. Also his as specked out is not 6600lbs, the two I've looked at were 7200 7400lbs respectively.
Those sofas look nice, but how are they to sleep on with those head rests poking up like that ?

Love it
Great walk through. I'm just curious.. You mentioned the generous ceiling height.. how high is it and how tall is the shower? Thanks in advance!
Great presentation...Is there a storage under the master bed?
I don't believe so
is it solar prepped?
Yes
Folk's I'm telling you.........
Is a 7500lb tow rating enough for this?

you know you can easily redo the pipe with like 20 bucks if u wanted to right? lol saying that's a deal breaker is a bit of a stretch don't u think?
Can you turn the ramp into a party deck?
The guy said they will be coming out with this feature. Very cool
"Folks" count = 953 :)
ib516, LoL!! Bummer, we were going for a 1000! Better luck next time I guess. Thanks for watching. 😂
Folks!
$400 a month, out of my bracket.
$400 is chump change in the grand scheme of things if your looking at toy haulers
That's all, folks. I couldn't take any more, folks. Really annoying.
Less talky more showy
doesn't look like bed has room to put slide in
The bed tips up

Nice review but if I had to listen to that voice one more minute...
