I think every sales person should know and do this. Start with the Interiors of the unit. If I don’t like the interior I could care less about any of the other features outside. I have bought several units in my life time and not one single one was ever bought because of something on the outside.

I just LOVE the 2150RB. There are a few other trailers out there using this floor plan, but in my opinion, the GD pulls it off the best and for the best money. For a pure couples trailer, this really has it all. Can't wait to pick ours up this spring.
@@zedhead2864 in the intervening years, Rockwood came out with basically the exact same floorplan accept everything is upgraded. It comes with proper steps, slide out awnings (plural), and generally nicer finishing touches. The slide out wardrobe is really nice. What's more, the price was basically the same as the 2150RB. Maybe within a couple K. But where your spending 30k, what's 2k here or there. The standard upgrades are well worth the added cost. It cost me well more than 2k to make the upgrades after market. With that said, I dont really have any complaints about the 2150RB. The floor plan really is excellent after 2 seasons and we have very much enjoyed it. If they had had the rockwood at the time we bought the GD, we would have bought the rockwood. I suspect our next rig will be GDs smallest 5th wheel.
We bought this model Grand Design this summer and it has been great. Have owned many rv’s over the years and this one has been one of the best. Love this video! We purchased the same kind of trailer that you are demonstrating. Love it. Just the two of us plus a 55# rescue dog. The trailer is roomy enough for us. Got it end of August 2019. I highly recommend!
user name taken ok, so I guess I didn’t need to mention that my dog was a “rescue”. But we did rescue her from a high kill shelter. No need for name calling.
David Hontz, thank you for your question. GDRV offers 3 seating arrangements in the 2150RB. 1.chaise lounge with table and tri-fold bed. 2. U- Shaped booth dinette. 3. Theatre seating. We’ve found the Chaise lounge to be most popular because of the flexibility it offers vs the other seating arrangements. We hope this answers your question and provides a little deeper insight. Thanks again and Happy Camping!! Warm Regards, Team Woody’s RV Leduc!😀
David. As a fellow 2150RB enthusiast, I am with you on the Theater seating. I really like the idea of having a fold out bed for any would be guests. But I personally found that the lounge area is not at all comfortable to sit on. The fabric is pretty slick and The back pretty straight. I found that I would constantly slide down and off. And frankly, the sitting position to me is not at all comfortable with a straight back. For my wife and I, the Theater Seating is certainly where it's at. That's not without its drawbacks of course. You lose that really nice storage area for one. And you lose a guest bed also. But the wife and I decided for the rare occasion when we have someone staying with us (for a very short period of time), there is plenty of room for a blow up mattress on the floor. We have one that blows itself up and deflates itself, and there is plenty of room to store it out of the way when not in use. This is of course a dream Couples camper, not a family camper. In my opinion, it's best used as just that, a couples camper. If we have friends that want to go camping, they can bring a tent.
Goes to show you that you get what you pay for when it comes to an RV. 3 year warranty! Impressed with the integrity of the structure and you did a great job is describing the quality of the Imagine.
I upgraded my suspension with Dexter E Z Flex shackles and equalizers ,much better than stock parts , one thing that i noticed ... i dont think the Schwintek system is the greatest on larger slides like this trailer , Schwintek is ok for smaller slides ...could have issues on larger slides .
You claim you have the highest R values, Does GD Cold Chamber test their trailers? If so do you have proof of its performance VS a Jayco or Open Range RV? Thanks!
Hi Clayton. I love your videos and information you provide. I am interested in a 2250 or 2670 grand design rear kitchen. Do you ever get these in? I was wondering what the wall thickness is on these and the price on each. Is there somewhere I can find this kind of information on wall thick ness and insulation? Thanks so much.
JOE BLOW, thank you for your post! We do get both these floor plans in from time to time. They also offer the 2870 in the Imagine as well which has a rear kitchen. In CDN dollars landed in Alberta, these three floor plans range from the upper $30k to mid $40k mark. The laminated side wall thickness of the Imagine is 1 1/2” which gives you an R-7 insulation rating. We hope this helps answer you questions. We apologize for the late reply. Please let us know how we can help going forward. Thanks again for watching!! Take care, Team Woody’s RV Leduc!😀
looks nice (Australia here) Why do you guys use scissor jacks as stabilizers and not drop down jacks, which are much easier and faster to set up and use?
I am guessing at this but I used to work at a construction equipment trailer manufacturer and may have a clue...to use drop down jacks there will need to be a fair amount of vertical space taken up within the trailer body that could otherwise be used for maintaining a squared off storage bay. Scissor jacks of course take up very little room underneath and no space within the RV body; most folks use a cordless drill with a socket to run them down and up quickly.
David Beemon, great question! There are most definitely USB charging plugs in all GDRV products. They are located in various locations throughout the trailer, depending on the floor plan of course. Thanks for your question!! Cheers and Happy Camping!!👍
Hello! I’m a little bit late to this conversation but I was wondering if my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee would be able to tow this. Mine has a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. I have an older and smaller Jayco. But since our dogs have grown and more people come visit us at our campsites we needed more space. Thanks!
I have been towing my 2150 for 2.5 years with my MB350 diesel 465ft lb torque rated at 7300#. With good stabilizers you don't even know it is there. I have put fulltime 30000 miles on the trailer with 65,000 sightseeing on the SUV. I could probably not be morr comfortable...I replaced the chaise lounge with a Lazy-boy ...there is an option for theater seating, take a serious look at this. Great bathroom and shower. I got mine for about 20% off list at Dodd's RV in Hampton Roads, Va. This is a great RV winter or summer.
It is not just tow capacity of your truck but the cargo carry capacity. If you have 4 full sized adults plus their items in the truck that weight counts as cargo for the truck. so you either need to provide a lot more information or do a little math your self. Look in your trucks door frame to see what the towing and cargo numbers are. cargo is everything you carry, people, pets, anything in the bed and weight down on the hitch. These numbers are vehicle specific depending on engine and drive train. A diesel may have more towing but since it is heavier you will have less cargo carrying capacity. If you and your other are small and 130 pounds each then you use that for weight, if you are both tall and you are 300 pounds yourself wife 200 pounds 2 teenage sons each 200 pounds then your cargo capacity is already down 900 pounds. If you decide to just tow the camper and the truck is over weight when you have an accident even caused by someone else you can get ticketed for overweight, where I live it is at least $1 a pound plus $200 and they will know, also your insurance can say they are not paying for anything since you violated the law. So do you see why he cannot tell you if your truck can pull it?
Another thing that sets this camper apart from the competitors is that they actually put wheels and tires on their campers..The competitors will most likely just have you rolling on hubs and throwing sparks which is a real hazard by the competitors.
Rick Engellant, great question! Here are all the necessary weights that apply to the 2150RB. Dry = 5,295 lbs GVWR = 6,695 lbs Cargo = 1,400 lbs Hitch = 427 lbs We hope this satisfies your inquiry! Thanks again for your question. Take care and Happy Camping!!😀
I really wish there was a manufacturer that would let you customize the inside. there's a lot of little things in here that you can take out and make it less heavy, so that you could tow it with a Tacoma or even a minivan, even with this size trailer.
Nancy K, great question. This particular trailer had just been through its first clean inside our reconditioning dept. It looks as though it’s that last little bit of water dripping from when they sprayed off the bottom of the undercarriage on the trailer. We take immense pride in the detail work we perform on all the RV’s we sell at our dealership, that way we can deliver the nicest looking product to the customer as possible. Thanks again for your question. Happy Camping!!😀
Fly in to buy one and a truck and start your vacation trip there. It is not that difficult to bring a vehicle or camper across the boarder legally just keep all of the paper work and do the forms online for customs.
Jesse Revilla, thank you for your kind comment. We are happy to hear your getting value out of the videos. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Warmest Regards!!😀
Brent Anderson, great question! There are 2 ways to do solar. 1. Use the factory installed solar port on the front drivers side of the trailer. This requires you use a suitcase style solar panel. 2. Install a permanent mount panel to the roof. This is the preferred method because your panel is less likely to disappear and the panel will always do its job even when your not with the trailer. We hope this helps!! Thanks again for your question!😀
Seems like the new campers sure aren't made for families. Who's the one designing these?? This would only sleep about 3-4. My parents had one half this size when I was a kid. It had a full kitchen...though small, a toilet room(we never used except at night) nice storage. The couch made into a queen, the table made into a twin and there was a bunk that could sleep 2 as well. Most kids aren't going to want to share that small pull out. Are small campers even made anymore. Just a simple one to keep warm and sleep? Cook if needed? Most of the time we're outside.
Jen E, thank you for your comments and questions. Sounds like you had a lot of fun growing up RVing!! We agree that RV’s have sure changed over the years. Grand Design offers several different brands that come in different shapes and sizes. If you’re looking for something small with lots of sleeping. We would recommend looking at the Imagine XLS 20BHE and 21BHE. Both of these are smaller bunk model trailers that accommodate lots of people for sleeping. We have a RUclips video done on the 21BHE that you can easily view on our channel. Also, GD is coming out with the Transcend Xplor edition early this year that will also offer various smaller bunk model floor plans but at a lower price point. Stay tuned for the videos on those. We hope this information helps steer you in the right direction and potentially into a Grand Design product. Thanks again for your comments and questions. 😀
Look for bunk house models or toy haulers. the bunk house will usually have a BH as part of the description, toy haulers have many options for bunks and I just looked at a small toy hauler that had room to sleep 6 easy. You do not need to haul any toys in it. many toy haulers also let you use the rear door as a deck and it extends the size a lot during the day and can keep your sanity and mud down.
caricia angela my iPad has a fast forward function. I simply drag my finger along this thing near the bottom of the video to skip to what I want to see. You should get one!
Jak Pryce, right on!! Please let us know if we can be of any assistance. Not sure where you’re located but we would like to invite you to our dealership in Leduc. Give us a call! 780-986-1234 and ask for Clayton. Hope to see you!!😀
Cn I just plug solar In like suitcase type and do the windows open and have screens i am looking to purchase this one and hope cn tow with my ford escape
karenabdelkader, thank you for your posts, comments, and questions. All the Imagine’s include the easy port access for a portable suitcase style solar panel. Also included are screens for all the windows. I would NOT recommend you try to pull with your Ford Escape. Unfortunately it’s just to light of a vehicle all around to be able to pull a GD of any kind at the moment. Tow capacity of the Escape looks to run between 1500 to 3500lbs. One way to find out the capability of your vehicle is to call your local Ford dealer. They should be able to tell you the exact specs when you provide them with your VIN #. We hope this helps get you going in the right direction. Thanks for watching our videos.😀
I would like to purchase this camper but you are so far away from Lake George,NY...Does it only come with this dark color interior ? Anything lighter color for cabinets and furniture ?
richard Vega, thank you for your comment and question. We have some ideas that could help you transition into getting one much closer to home if you would be willing to explore. We are apart of a 20 Group of dealers across Canada and the United States. The dealer that’s located in NY state is called Wilkins RV. They are an upstanding dealer who has a customer centric focus and we’re confident they would be able to satisfy your needs and wants. If you would like, I could make a personal introduction between yourself and the owner. Please email me and we can make arrangements to make that happen if you so choose. Please email me at cphillips@woodysrv.com and I can get the ball rolling for you. The other answer to your question is that the dark interior color is the only option they have available. We hope you find this information useful, please let us know how we can assist you going forward. Thanks again for your post! Warmest Regards, Team Woody’s RV Leduc😀
It's certainly closer, as it's in NY, but we are buying ours from Meyers RV in Syracuse NY. But, it's still what,,,, Hour and half? Two hours tops drive.
@@WoodysRVWorldOfficial Wilkins Does not sell Grand Design. Meyers RV like ten feet down the road is the Grand Design dealer. Wilkins does sell a REALLY EXCELLENT Arctic Fox half ton towable fifthwheel though. Man is that a slick rig.
@@WoodysRVWorldOfficial Really? I thought Grand Design only allowed one dealer in any given area? Meyers sells GD in Bath too. But, I'm looking at the Wilkins Bath website as I type this, and they do indeed sell GD. So,,, just goes to show how much I know. =)
Roy Klein, thank you for your question. You can access every aspect of the trailer when the slide is retracted other than the bedroom. Moving the electric slide out 8-12 inches will allow easy access to the bedroom. Thanks again!! Woody’s RV Leduc.
Stephen Bradley, great question. The only sales tax in Alberta is the national 5% GST. Alberta has no PST or Luxury purchase tax. We hope this helps!!😀
If they are so innovative how about doing something other than beige and brown interiors. White cabinets would be nice for a change. I would go crazy in all that dark wood. Keystone is the only company I know that has white cabinets. Now that's innovative! Maybe you could pass this on to the manufacturers. Other than the beige Grand Design is super.
Uvw 5290, gvwr 6695.... For those that want to know the weight.. you want to do the rescearch. Google it.. I have a Dodge 1500. 07' 3.4.… I don't think my truck can pull? Right??. Looking for trailer. I work on the road, right now I'm in Chicago. It's cold. So need one for cold weather. I'm researching
Everything seems good quality, till you get to the bathroom. That shower is as cheap as they come! Yah it's a good size but they use plastic surrounds and pan. Don't even get me started on that $9 faucet and showerhead!!! I mean people are already willing to spend almost $30K on this, don't you think people would fork over another $400 for a decent shower that won't crack!?!?
TheJerrydon575 I was surprised to see that hose and shower head. someone may have come in and switched those out to appease a customer buying another rig. I just bought basically the identical rig and it has nice stainless steel hose and shower head. Looked nothing like that setup.
jameshuntercox, great question! GDRV offers a travel trailer toy hauler called the Momentum G-Glass. The G-Class currently comes in 3 floor plans. The 21G and 25G are 1/2 ton towable. The 28G is borderline 1/2 ton but we would recommend 3/4 ton. We have a video on the 21G to which you will find on our RUclips page. We will be getting the other floor plans soon and will be shooting videos on those also. We hope this satisfies your inquiry. Thank you for watching our video and commenting. Happy Camping and take care!!😀
The super dark woodwork is starting to look dated. Many other manufacturers are going light and it looks much better IMO. I like Grand Design but really hate the very dark interiors.
Thank You for a Great Video. I am looking at a Forest River Salem 22 RBS, until I saw this Video. I think Forest River stole the couch / lounger design, from Grand Design. There are things about each of them that I like, as well as dislike. This video gave me something else to think about.
Doug Gak, thank you for your comment. Located at the base of the utility centre there is a port hole access with a lid and sliding slot to where you can run your water hose and other cables. This allows you to be able to close and lock your compartment completely. We hope you find this information insightful. Thanks again for your comment. Warmest Regards! Team Woody’s RV Leduc.😀
@@WoodysRVWorldOfficial I have always liked Grand Design, except for this specific thing. That slot with your your hose, cable and cords running up through seems to me to be a open invitation for mice and other pest to enter the RV. Putting that utility center in its own separate compartment makes more sense to me. Other than that, I think Grand Design makes a fantastic RV.
Eric TenEyck, thank you for your comments and overall positive feedback. The port hole access for hoses and cables, if properly managed and maintained should eliminate this concern. The sliding slot when closed properly around any items running through it should prevent any critters from sneaking up inside. If you’re in the area we would be happy to invite you down to the dealership so that we can show you this great feature in person. Thank you for watching the video and providing the feedback, to which we will share with GDRV. Take care and Happy Camping!!😀

With all that nonstop talking/explaining.....you would think he’d give more details about the microwave and stove/oven. He goes into great details about everything else! 🙄
slide out has no toppers. Two track slide will bend over time since the couch is over the slide. terrible design. remember when you go sit on couch you will "plop" yourself on couch.Refrigerator is also on the slide. less weight on a slide the better.
I like it. I think it has a homey feel to it. People have different preferences. I've had other trailers and a 5th wheel. You can spice them up with your own personal touches. I guess they didn't ask you huh?
Just so you know. It is a cheap stereo. As cheap as you can get. It's crap!!! And on nearly every travel trailer I've seen have the cheapest stereos, TV's, speakers and other stuff. Just garbage.
I hate how all these shmarmy salesmen compare the unit to other manufacturers. A deal breaker for me. When they start doing that I leave. It’s a turn off. Who gives a shit about the other trailers. I’m interested in this one. Hate it
All I see is exposed particle board and terrible fit and finish and the lowest level plastic fittings. And please don’t get me started on those tyres. Exposed window seals? Come on. Looks like what it is. Junk.
Right like you even would buy it, if you where at all serious you would know one can be added, but you just make a stupid comment to look big. grow up.

Goes to show you that you get what you pay for when it comes to an RV. 3 year warranty! Impressed with the integrity of the structure and you did a great job is describing the quality of the Imagine.
Warranty means little. It takes a month or more to get repairs done. I know. I've been there, done that.
@@mmabagain Depends on the dealer and the problem. It would be more helpful if you gave more details.
i assume the pass thru storage door must stay open for utility hook ups ?
There's a pop up hatch just below the external shower hook up in the floor.
thank you
no it does not there is a pass thru in the floor watch the video.
Where are your dealers in the upstate New York area??
I upgraded my suspension with Dexter E Z Flex shackles and equalizers ,much better than stock parts , one thing that i noticed ... i dont think the Schwintek system is the greatest on larger slides like this trailer , Schwintek is ok for smaller slides ...could have issues on larger slides .
Can you tow this with a jeep commander with a hemi? It says 6500 lbs can pull
You claim you have the highest R values, Does GD Cold Chamber test their trailers? If so do you have proof of its performance VS a Jayco or Open Range RV? Thanks!
Is this trailer equipped with black tank flush?
look at the side it is there. they all do, or you can spray in the toilet to clean it also.
Scissor jacks of course take up very little room underneath and no space within the RV body; most folks use a cordless drill with a socket to run them down and up quickly.
simply it is choice you can get either. Some like one better and they have choices on it.
Great couples trailer, but no tv in the bedroom area that would be a deal breaker
Are there any USB port to charge phones and batteries?
Frederic Bishop Thanks! Do you think I’d be able to? It is a Diesel so it has a lot of torque.
It should tow it fine, just make sure you're good on your vehicles payload.
shaynehoff Cool thanks!
Can you get to the bed with the slide in?
I'd like to know this as well. If I can access everything, including the bed, with the slide in then this unit would be on the top of my list.
@@kcoble70 no
A whole lot of ditching the competition but I've seen other videos of people having problems with their Grand Designs
Would a Ford ranger XL be able to pull this camper trailer
F i don't know....give it a try and figure it out yourself....
Another thing that sets this camper apart from the competitors is that they actually put wheels and tires on their campers..The competitors will most likely just have you rolling on hubs and throwing sparks which is a real hazard by the competitors.
can a TV be installed in the bedroom ?
I have a 2017 RL 2500 Grand Design, there is a backing plate with outlet for cable and electrical. (Great Tailor )!
thanx mel
you can install a tv depending on what you want they have a spot or you can put up a plate and do it.
What does it weigh?
Rick Engellant, great question! Here are all the necessary weights that apply to the 2150RB.
Dry = 5,295 lbs
GVWR = 6,695 lbs
Cargo = 1,400 lbs
Hitch = 427 lbs
We hope this satisfies your inquiry! Thanks again for your question. Take care and Happy Camping!!😀
26:19 starts tour inside. Interior colors are too dark, but nice design
You mean 14:48
NiiCole you think so. I like the dark color. But would want two separate bedrooms I’ve got a big family lol...
Finally out with the dinette I want the chaise sofa n the fireplace n I'm gettin it love it cn pull with my 2017 ford escape

Amazing product
I love it good job showing it.
Great presentation!
I really wish there was a manufacturer that would let you customize the inside. there's a lot of little things in here that you can take out and make it less heavy, so that you could tow it with a Tacoma or even a minivan, even with this size trailer.
What is leaking under the RV?
Nancy K, great question. This particular trailer had just been through its first clean inside our reconditioning dept. It looks as though it’s that last little bit of water dripping from when they sprayed off the bottom of the undercarriage on the trailer. We take immense pride in the detail work we perform on all the RV’s we sell at our dealership, that way we can deliver the nicest looking product to the customer as possible. Thanks again for your question. Happy Camping!!😀

This is nice. Wish you had a dealership in the US.
They do have dealers in the US , TX, NM, AZ, KY, MN
Fly in to buy one and a truck and start your vacation trip there. It is not that difficult to bring a vehicle or camper across the boarder legally just keep all of the paper work and do the forms online for customs.
Your excellent at your insight and explanation
Jesse Revilla, thank you for your kind comment. We are happy to hear your getting value out of the videos. Please let us know if we can help you in any way. Warmest Regards!!😀
At this price point, a slide cover would be expected. A competitor of GD puts it on a very comparable model. 😉
Hi there....who is the competitor?
Do you really think they have a competitor? Most close in price are junky and are not as solid.
Can it be converted to solar
Brent Anderson, great question! There are 2 ways to do solar. 1. Use the factory installed solar port on the front drivers side of the trailer. This requires you use a suitcase style solar panel. 2. Install a permanent mount panel to the roof. This is the preferred method because your panel is less likely to disappear and the panel will always do its job even when your not with the trailer. We hope this helps!! Thanks again for your question!😀
This thing is butiful
How much does this cost? I live in New Zealand bytheway
Brent Anderson, great question!! The 2150RB Imagine sells in the upper 30k range in Canada.😀
Canadian RV Guy that’s pretty good for what u get. I need to check out what it would cost to ship it to nz.
Why does anyone need a hot water heater??? How about a cold water heater ??????????
I imagine it's nice
Can you set up the solar panel on the 2019 . Also wondering if you could switch the fridge to the 12 voltage??
Why don't they start showing us the interior, then go explain the exterior.

Umm... you really shouldn't be taking towing that lightly. It's a serious matter. This is 5700 unloaded. It's dang near out of 1/2 ton pickup range.

Is the bedroom accessable with the slide in?
Roy Klein, thank you for your question. You can access every aspect of the trailer when the slide is retracted other than the bedroom. Moving the electric slide out 8-12 inches will allow easy access to the bedroom. Thanks again!!

WHAT R THE PRICES IN TAX WISE, BEEN 4 YEARS SINCE I WAS IN ALBERTA
Stephen Bradley, great question. The only sales tax in Alberta is the national 5% GST. Alberta has no PST or Luxury purchase tax. We hope this helps!!😀
No napkins included??
The guy keeps saying “ uh boat “.
I think he’s trying to say “ about “.
Richard Nixon, LoL...thank you for your comment. Please know that these boats don’t float!!!😂

True, but they talk like that in the "Great White North." 🇨🇦💖

If they are so innovative how about doing something other than beige and brown interiors. White cabinets would be nice for a change. I would go crazy in all that dark wood. Keystone is the only company I know that has white cabinets. Now that's innovative! Maybe you could pass this on to the manufacturers. Other than the beige Grand Design is super.

Great job and not making fun of you but I love your voice
Agreed...Very cheesy looking....POS
Any toy hauler?
jameshuntercox, great question!
I much prefer the darker. Hides markings, damage...
You could get it painted white if that really is all that is keeping you from buying one.
This video's could be cut in half if this slick salesman would stop with the silly, snarky comments about other RV manufacturers.
Thank You for a Great Video. I am looking at a Forest River Salem 22 RBS, until I saw this Video. I think Forest River stole the couch / lounger design, from Grand Design. There are things about each of them that I like, as well as dislike. This video gave me something else to think about.

Great job too, glad he does. Tires and axles also.

Wow. That's a lot of brown. Who does the design for these companies? No one, it appears. Yuck...
