    My husband and I have the same trailer - a 2022 imagine 2500rl that we bought in August, 2021. It has the old graphics, the 2 way fridge and the dealer installed a solar panel for us with 2 6v batteries. I was excited to see your review on it as I’ve watched your videos for years.
    We love our 2500rl. We have the trifold sofa (nice to have the extra sleeping space if needed which is not very often) instead of the theatre seating and the u shaped booth dinette. The only time we really watch tv is in the morning when having our coffee and breakfast so the view from the table is perfect. We love the pass through bathroom next to the bedroom. We used to have a Tango bunk model with a tiny little bathroom waaaay at the other end of the trailer so we appreciate the size and location of the bathroom. Also love the windows, the color of the cabinets and everything about it! Really enjoy watching all your reviews. Thank you !

    We have a Transcend Xplor 245rl which is essentially the entry level version of the Imagine 2500. We chose the 245 because you had the option of the "theatre dinette" in place of the dinette and the 2500 did not. This gave us a direct, "no neck wrecker" view of the tv. Also, the dinette didn't have the fluffy friendly moveable table when we saw it. Love this floorplan! Glad you're getting to experience Grand Design and we get to see your take on a brand a lot of us love!

    Absolutely a CPAP caddy. We have ResMed units. They are roughly W 9-1/2"xH5"xD7-1/2" including the right angle hose adapter. My uncle has an older, larger machine and that should totally fit rotated. The depth of the cubby sould allow it.

    I'm really loving this design, I just wish it had more weight capacity to make use of all that storage space! Personally I'd prefer to have the sofa in the slide and the dinette in the back, so the sofa is properly oriented with the TV, but other than that it looks great! And it has the bedroom door which makes bathroom and bed access easy without needing to put out the slides, which is SUPER underrated if you ask me. It's actually one of the reasons I think I'd prefer a travel trailer over a 5th wheel, even if the floorplans were otherwise exactly the same!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад +1

      You got me looking and yeah.. it does feel a bit light. I recently went thru their 2670MK Imagine which *really* felt light on CCC for the incredible storage space it offered

      I read on a forum that although its not printed on their website, you can order the Imagine TT’s with recliners (or maybe a sofa) in the slide in place of the dinette. I don’t know about switching them, but for someone who wants the pull out couch for the rare guest as well as the recliners, its intriguing. Now if they would only make the bed bigger and/or get rid of their side closets that go all of the way down.

  • @ctrongful
    @ctrongful 2 года назад +4

    We believe a second door in the bedroom to be a safety feature, not drawback. It's one of the reasons we still shop pull trailers when 5th wheels fit our needs so well. The bed cubby would hold my cpap very well.

    • @mgkleym
      @mgkleym 2 года назад

      It is a more graceful way to excape a fire than falling out a window on the upper deck of a 5th wheel that is for sure

    We have the 2021 version of this model! We love it except a 12v fridge would definitely be nice - we don’t have that.
    We love the bedroom and bought a sleep number bed and the air pump fits perfectly in the cubby with plenty of room for other items.
    We’ve driven across the US from maine to BC and back with this trailer and really enjoy it. Advice for any RV’ers buying….Check to make sure everything is working well. We had no hot water for 2 weeks and a stuck grey valve because the RV dealer didn’t check to make sure it was all working before we took it home. Grand Design was quick to help us out. We also added a slide awning and love it. We put a small trash can in the drawer under the stove and a 3m hook in the bathroom for a garbage can. We also installed sliding baskets to use under the dinette so we now have “drawers” for about half of the under seat storage!! Overall we love it!

Because it's only 5 years old and the bathroom's already licking.😢 We are getting ready to lose the bathroom if one of us falls backwards. So we are no longer looking for huge RV. Hate the carpet in the slide. love the bedroom, 1 improvement, wish they'd "r&d" the underbed like the spirit/freedom express beds :) Thank you so much for always taking the time to show the access when slide is closed and all the outside structural components that are way more important (IMHO) than just the aesthetics.

    I love the walk through bathroom because instead of having wasted hallway space, it gives a bathroom large enough to dress in. I know you have mentioned it as a point of consideration before so I wondered why others may see it as a negative? Is it because it gives others access to your bedroom? There are a few units that would move up our list if the bathroom would include the hall in some way to spread it out so I want to make sure I am considering all things.

    Come on Imagine, let’s do carpetless!! And “toliet”?? 🤣🤣

  • @jetdriver
    @jetdriver 2 года назад +2

    I have an Imagine 2800BH and I love it.
    Great kitchen in this floor plan with a ton of well thought out storage. That peg board in the big cabinet is awesome for securing pots and pans. We have a collapsible waste bracket and it fits perfectly under the counter top extension. No issues getting by it either. But as you don’t don’t forget to fold it down when the slide comes in!
    We have the same dinette and while it looks good it’s not terribly comfortable. First even with kids it’s hard to get 4 people in there without pulling out the back bench part. If you do the seat cushions aren’t comfortable (I’m replacing the foam which will hopefully solve that) and I feel like the table should be a bit smaller.
    I’d lie to see that TV pivot more for a more direct view.
    I’m with you on open storage in an RV but I will say that even with a rear bathroom on our unit they have worked really well for holding towels. So their are exceptions. Yes sometimes there are some dark spots. In our 2800 I feel like we need another light above the bathroom sink.
    A CPAP should fit in those bedroom cubbies. An AirSense 10 which is really common is 4.6x10x5.91. The reading lights over the bed cycle between white and blue which is cool. The problem is when off you have to cycle through white first which means if your trying to just bring on a little light your going to blast your spouse first.
    Yeah once you’ve had a trailer with drop frame pass through storage your ruined for life.
    GD added those power stabilizer jacks for 22. I wish instead they would install the CRE3000 with the HD shackle and wet bolt kit and install max air vent fans. I’m not a fan of those power jacks and a poll I saw on an Imagine owners forum people overwhelmingly would have preferred the upgrades I mention.
    GD has been awesome to work with as an owner. They sent me parts directly when a few small things broke under warranty and covered a mobile tech no problem to handle the propane regulator recall. If I had to replace my 2800 today even if I had an unlimited budget I’d buy another one.

    Josh, we own the 2021 model.. Love it. A couple items we are looking to upgrade. Cabinet on left side bed on floor, not suitable as step. Need to repair to make sturdier. Better light placement in bath over sink. Same under cabinet for kitchen sink. AC unit loud if watching TV. Larger AC, or second in bedroom. Was a bit warm on trip to Mount Rushmore last year. It was over 100 most of the week. We still love it. A queen air mattress fits on floor with slide out for additional sleeping.

    Love the giant windows and big feel to it. Two things I don't like: 1. the retina-destroying blue LED strip under the theater seating is waaaay too blinding, and 2. if the TV is cranked for the folks in the theater seats, it makes it very difficult to use the counter and precarious to cook at the stove. Two things I would change: 1. either a 21" oven or no oven at all and 2. take the top kitchen drawer and make 2 thin ones out of it. My favorite ice cream spoon will get lost in that deep drawer. 🙂

    The groan machine. That's me getting in and out of my recliner, as I am losing weight and getting in better old man shape this year. It is an excellent rig, especially the theater sofa. But I prefer an electric tootsie toaster and no dinnette. Thanks for the video.

    This would be perfect if they just swapped the dinette and theater seats. We don't watch tv much when camping, but on game day... there's no way you can watch comfortably from those theater seats. It would also make it so you could sit at dinette when stopping on the road without worrying about damaging the slide.

    Another great review! I really like the style of this, and definitely seems like a quality trailer…however, the 25RDS for the size is still one of my favourites, and in my opinion better than this for a couple reasons - just switching the dinette with the sofa/seating. First, TV viewing is better on the 25RDS. Second, the larger dinette will be good for an adult (hard to say with the Imagine, but looks a little short for sleeping). Third, there’s a real pantry beside the fridge on the 25RDS. Also, on the imagine, when your in full recline mode on the seat closest the door, it looks like feet might block the main entry (I’ve never been a fan of sofa/chairs right at the back of any RV). I’ll say as a bonus the Cougar also comes with a king bed, but that’s just personal ;-) thanks again for the fantastic (and always entertaining!) walkthru! :-)

    The open towel cubbies are part of what drew us to the Imagines in the first place.
    The real trick with this model is that you set the TV up to view from the theater seating, then you put up the arm rest and lay a mirror against it, then you position it to line up with the bathroom mirror and BOOM, Toilet TV that's even turned the right way around!
    We prefer the look of the '21 front caps over the '22. Not only is the roof walkable, there's some dealer in Canada (I forget the name) that demonstrates the top of the slides are also walkable on most Imagines. The insulation on the Imagination line has led to a lot of questions for us. Some references say that it's rated 0-100, others say 15-100. Some references say there are actual heating pads on the tanks, while others don't mention that. I'm sure you've already got it written down somewhere, but here's our obligatory request for your take on an Imagine 3100RD. Thanks againe Uncle Josh!

    I’ve had my 2500RL for just over a year and love the trailer and it’s layout. I have two little nits about it. First, I wish it had a removable panel to access the water heater bypass. They’re right behind the lower blank panel behind the door on the left side of the oven/range. I hated emptying and removing the drawer and contorting my arm to get to the levers. Second, why is the switch for the nose lights on the left side? It should be on the right side where you “live” while camping. Yes, I’ve modified both and it makes it that much nicer.
    Great video and review as always!

    I think the 2500RL has better bedroom storage layout but prefer the location of the theater seats in the Cougar 25RDS. Also, the pantry cupboard location in the 25RDS allows the frig to open better in travel mode. I also like the fireplace in the 25RDS. I also think GD needs to use the 21” stove/oven instead of the tiny one they use.
    I am with you on the open storage in the bathroom. That is an absolute turnoff for me, especially behind the toilet.

    Love that layout... The rectangular shower is a plus, but they could have done a radius shower curtain to make it more fluffy friendly... I also agree that bathroom storage should have a door on it and not open shelving... I really wish the manufacturers could either go away from the blue light, or give options to change the color of the lights to a red or yellow... Something besides blue..

    That's a fine layout! The only drawback I see, is the tv placement. I wonder if they couldn't find or make a bracket that would swivel out to a full 90° turn, to face the couch directly. I'm a fan of the walk through bathrooms. It's like having an en suite, and they seem to tend to be bigger. If I had to traverse the entire trailer at 3:00 a.m. to get to the bathhrom, I'd be really concerned about how well my shades were closed.. 😂

    Josh.... CPAP sizes do vary... But, in general, for a home CPAP (yes, they do make smaller travel ones)... Most of them are about 12 inches long and 6 inches tall, and 6 inches wide, however the tubing usually goes out the back of the unit (some do out of the top, which would work better in a small space)... So it would have to have a few inches for that. Hope that helps...

    As a CPAP user, the cubby hole in the bedroom may cover the CPAP portion of a unit. Depending on the type of CPAP unit one has, it may or may not allow space for the humidifier portion of the unit. For those of us that require an oxygen concentrator at higher elevations, there is no room for those additional devices by any stretch of the imagination. The only two options that exist for the O2 concentrator device are: 1) obstructing the minimal walking area between the bed and the RV side wall; or 2) locate the device in the front closet of an east / west bed slide in the location where a dryer may be located.
