    Though credit for the original concept for this floor plan really belongs to Palomino's Sabre line back when they launched it was truly Grand Design's Imagine series that put this floor plan on the map. It's easily THE single most mimicked floor plan I've seen in my career.. and for good reason!
    This travel trailer brings the benefits of private sleeping with good living space, more storage than you'd expect, and a big bathroom all wrapped up into a package many half-tons will find within their comfortable operating limits (though you should always verify what YOUR vehicle can handle obviously)
    So while this one is fantastic, if you'd like to compare with something similar, then take a look at these & give us a call!

    Josh, After scouring the internet and watching a lot of videos, I stumbled across your channel and because of a lot of your videos and input we bought a new 2022 Grand Design 2400BH from Bish's in Idaho. I want to thank you for all your honest reviews and enjoyable content. You provide a refreshing outlook and reputation for RV dealerships. Wish more of them could be like you guys. Josh: I’d like to suggest a change to the Bish commode signage to:
    IF YOU USE THIS COMMODE, YOU’VE JUST BOUGHT YOURSELF A NEW RV.
    It will either get people to not use the commode or increase Bish’s RV sales. A winner either way.😊😁😊😂😂😂
    Respectfully, W.S.

    We have this camper after upgrading from a 22MLE. We love the large bathroom, and open floor plan especially with our 2 large dogs. The huge awning is also very nice and provides a lot a shade. Also, the pocket doors to close the bedroom off for privacy is very nice. Fit and finish in the trailer is excellent. I am very picky, and have barely found any Issues. Overall the camper and cabinets feel very solid, and it’s clearly well put together. Would highly recommend for a couple. We pull it with our 3.5 Ecoboost F150 and it’s no problem with a properly set up WDH.

    I love the layout of this. Three things would make this better... a more slender table to allow for more comfortable seating around the table, the flip up counter extension being fully flush with the existing counter and an on demand tankless water heater. Otherwise, it's pretty awesome! It's going to the top of our list!

    This was the first RV we were able to mentally picture ourselves in. I'm waiting to watch the video with the other half, but off the top of my head, the only thing we'd change about this unit is modifying the cabinet/drawers under the TV to house an electric fireplace. If anybody is interested, the RUclips channel lifererouted is a couple that has lived in their 2600RB for something like four years now. They ripped out the dinette and custom made a desk to take its place; they really opened our eyes to the limitless possibilities that exist in personalizing an RV.

    This is the floor plan of our Kodiak. It works really great for us. However, I don’t love the lack of camp side windows just because I like to peek outside before opening the door especially at night with the dogs. The Kodiak also has a fireplace and the pantry behind it is huge. I am also envious of the non fixed table. I’d rather one like this unit has.😊

    I used to think the built in pet bowls were clever, but the comment by another viewer has me questioning that. Is it a good idea to let your dog essentially eat out of the cabinets? Might they damage it with spilled water and food. Might they scratch at the drawer when it is closed? Won’t it draw pests? Is keeping the drawer clean more work than cleaning up regular pet dishes.? Do you have any experience with used RVs at Advantage that had these drawers? And in general, are used campers that have signs of pets harder to sell? Are buyers reluctant to buy pet-used RVs?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад

      I don't see the drawers as a place for the pets to eat, but maybe just to store the bowls. It's more of an IDEA to me -- I'd take the bowls out for the pets once at a destination.

    Like this one ! Don’t love though. It’s lacking a bit in the hanging clothes area. 2 small closets isn’t enough to hold coats for multiple temps, or if traveling for several weeks or months. Not to mention you can’t get to them while traveling. Kitchen layout and pantry storage was nice and adequate. I like that they moved the dinette storage door to open the opposite direction. Now you won’t scrape your bare leg or catch your pant leg on the handle. Oh, and they finally nixed those awful sharp door pulls! As always, great review Josh!

    Very nice!
    Single bowl sink ... would take me some getting used to. Hard to conserve water while washing dishes in a single bowl (call me old-school).
    BUT ... this version of this layout actually has some counter space for food prep! Most with this layout don't.
    I'm a fan of NO fireplace ... I'd rather have the storage. My propane usage in cooler travel weather is generally negligible. If I were to get concerned about it, I could get an electric space heater.
    When I started looking for my replacement trailer (I currently have a 21 footer) I scoffed at outside kitchens because of the space they take, but I've seen so many WITH them that they seem weird without them now!
    I enjoy travelling solo (the husband is always invited ... but I admit I sometimes like it when he has something else to do!) so for my sanity something I'd like to see offered by manufacturers is an auto-leveling system. It's been a standard in motorhomes for years. Essentially a standard in fifth wheels now (I think?). The systems are starting to be offered by higher end travel trailer mfrs on the their longer floorplans. Now ... to get it to work it's way down to the mid-range units ... even it it's just an extra option. Get the word out for me, would you?
    Thank you for the giggles (oh, and the information/review too!)

I have to give it to you, you're probably the only person I know who could make potty humor out of a rockguard! It's really nice to see they've made power stabilizing standard on Imagines now.
    Yeah, what we'd do with this one (which is our fallback if we end up not being able to acquire/afford our intended 3100RD) is put in a fireplace under the TV somehow, swap out the dinette for a desk, and install an impressive lithium battery bank behind the docking station in the pass through (because battery theft is real, yo!). We're both glad to see you coming around to appreciate Grand Designs, welcome to the dark side! The other half again, says she's glad you're our Uncle Josh.

    Glad to see they changed the cupboard and drawer handles. Our 2021 2600RB model had the handles with sharp edges which were recalled (I lacerated my forehead on one). That large kitchen drawer... a huge problem and should NOT be "cloned". The drawer is very hard to pull out (we don't even have it filled with heavy objects). Also, one of the latches came loose, the drawer fell out while traveling and damaged the vinyl floor. My husband had to buy better drawer slides and replace them.

Love the drawer storage- especially the little touches like the pegs to hold pots and pans and the tray under the bed. The dinette bench that is not only removable but also has storage is really cool- I haven't seen that before. One thing that is a real turn-off to me is the dinette cushion design. When I compare this Grand Design 2600RB to the Jay Feather 25RB... overall I like how Grand Design executed this layout better however there are 2 things on the Jay Feather that makes me choose the Jay Feather over the Grand Design. 1... Positives compared to my trailer are way more storage, bigger holding tanks and propane tanks, higher end electronics to control RV.

Would also like to see max air vents from the factory on such a higher end brand to start with. I do like the docking station being self contained, and there is only one flush pipe to use so you don't have to move the camper to empty while at the dump station. As you know I’m a fan of Imagines and ai like this one as a couples camper.
    As a couples camper though I’d think hard about ordering it with the table and chairs over the Dinette.
    I’d like to see an outside kitchen on this model even if that means shrinking the bathroom a bit. You’d
    Likely need to move the sink over a couple of feet to create space behind it but there should be room. You could have a large storage area then in the bathroom above the outside kitchen.
    I’d like a door into the bedroom to give you travel access. There is room and they do it on other floor plans.
    I’d lose the power stabilizers jacks and put the money in suspension and max air vent fans.
    I’d also like to see the entire Imagine line go 50A. Right now it’s only about half of them
    (Starting at the next unit up ironically) and I can tell you that it’s really nice to have the second AC in a 32’ unit when the temps get up there. Plus there is more than enough in these units in the way of electrical draws to overload a 30A circuit.
    Great job as always Josh. Really enjoying your reviews.

      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад

      Apex and Spirit both make something like this with a mini camp kitchen under the bath sink. I think it's totally possible w/o really sacrificing much inside.
      30 vs 50 amp is an interesting debate. This size is definitely right on that borderline

    • @jetdriver
      @jetdriver 2 года назад

      @@JoshtheRVNerd my big thing with 30 vs 50 isn’t so much a second AC it’s everything else. Try to run a single AC while someone is in the shower with electric hot water heat and the other person in camper is using the microwave (plus normal house loads) and your going to overload a 30A circuit every time.
      A modern 30A trailer like this one requires careful management of electric loads. A 50A unit by contrast is brainless. Just plug it in and go.

    I would love to see the 22RBE also if you can. With these slides can they be partially opened and then closed after like similar layouts?

      THIS slide system allows for that, yes. Not EVERY Imagine uses that same system, though

    That looks almost wheel chair accessible with large interior doors. If the wheelchair is one of the narrow ones or a scooter, it might work if you added a lift at the door.

    A fireplace in that would really be nice. One big plus to Bish's the wide variety they carry, nice to see so many brands. Just curious, could a person get something that isn't in stock at the Coldwater store shipped to that store, also can warranty work be done at any Bish's store regardless of which Bish's location you bought from?

      I’ve been told by a service tech you could add a fireplace to this. If anyone could confirm that would be great.
