I just saved me a ton of money, I was thinking to get my 07 tundra towed to my house, it was starting but die right after. I found one of this videos, I didn't even clean the sensor but by disconnecting it and plugging it back my truck started and keep running, God Bless this man, amen!

thank you for an excellent video - my check engine light came on my 01 LC - I checked the gas cap first and next I will change the air filter (it needs it) and will clean the MAF at same time - didn't get a code check - just trying a couple of things that needed to be done anyway to see if it might be this - if not I will get the code scanned to verify issue - but this is certainly worth doing
Very good video. Informative and to the point. Explained just what I needed to know to clean my sensor. I was lucky that my 200 Tacoma doesn't have a cruise control module so all I had to do was remove the connector and the two screws.
Fantastic tutorial! i recently had an air hose leak which the obd read as a MAF sensor issue. Took it to the shop to help me fix the hose issue, but i may as well go back and clean the sensor if they didnt do that for me! Thanks!
Thanks for this video. Do you think a dirty MAF can cause my truck (95 tacoma 3.4 manual) to buck/jerk hard on acceleration? The check engine light comes on for a split second only while it bucks and then goes of when it stops. When i get off the gas it's fine and check engine light does not stay on.

My 2007 FJ is throwing CEL code P0430. It seems to happen when I city drive in "D" but not if I drive in "4". I wonder if it is RPM related, as "D" never gets over 1500rpm. I replaced my downstream 02 sensor, but that code still appears. I cleaned my MAF which was very dirty. It is still throw P0430 code. I have 170K miles so the cats can not be bad..... Any ideas....

I just did this and cleaned the throttle body on my wife's 4runner and as I removed the top of the intake housing or whatever you call it to disconnect the whole top from the throttle body I noticed a small black hose on the back side.The problem is it is not connected and has at some point broke from where it connected. Can anyone help me with what this is and how important it is also,I don't know if it were like that previously or happened when I started moving stuff but I dint want it to cause any issues at all. Thank you for this video. It only took me a few minutes to accomplish however, the car was idling very low after I did the cleaning. It was accelerating better but something is still not right. Any ideas on what to check next? By the way, I have a 2002 Avalon with 186,000 miles on it and have had some other work done: new plugs and wires, new fuel injectors and new ignition coils. Thanks in advance for your help!
From the idling it could be because of the things you mentioned, but since that didn't stop it I've read from Tacoma forum that the water pump might be bad and which causes it. I'm actually in this scenario. After spraying the MAS sensor it still idles a little bit, it might be because of a leak to the water pump.
supra 95 I Iam recommend you to watch Timmy the tool man channel, his channel is all about toyota 4runner and he already has a step by step timing belt replacement.
You would get misfires and likely a check engine light. Google top tier gas, they have additional detergents to keep injectors clean. Normally injectors clean themselves. You could add Techron or Seafoam in your tank.

I'm pretty sure they didn't….cleaning MAF normally cost around $60…have fun !

Is it possible (difficult?) to clean the older types? 1990 standard cab Toyota truck
1990 models call it the Air Flow Meter and according to other videos I have seen (haha. Grain of salt) it is not recommended to clean them this way.

Yes important. Most likely a vacuum line. Will cause issues and loss of fuel economy. Id replace it asap
