Bully Maguire still remains as one of the most memorable and funny memories from this trilogy. I honestly think the movie is still good in its own, but I do agree that some characters needed a better development. It’s true that Eddie got a reason to hate Peter as Venom, but we never got to connect better with the character, it just jumped from being a coworker to villain, while Sandman got a little development (I think) while connecting the dots from the 1st movie with Uncle Ben (which still hits hard 😢)
Totally agreed there, we talked about that in our discussion how it would have been sooo satisfying to see Eddie slowly come apart at the seams, disturbing us and then totally leaning into Venom - that progression would have been sick! But overall such a fun movie, flaws and all!
@@samarjeetbhonsle6000 She should suffer. Don't you remember her from SM2? See the thing about Peter in the beginning of this movie is he is high. High on life. After two movies of being beaten down not only as Peter but Spider-Man, he is finally with the girl he loves and everyone likes Spider-Man. Peter isn't used to this, so he is riding that "high" as long as he can. Everything is so great for him that he doesn't even see what's going on around him. Hence why he failed to notice MJ's.... downward spirial. Like he's on drugs. Then he gets the symbiote...
That's what I was going to say, you have to keep your feet firmly on the ground so that if you are in a great moment, you don't get carried away by it, because you end up ignoring what is happening to others around you.
Fun fact: The final battle between Venom and Spidey is that Pete can't sense Venom It's because that Venom bonded with him for a while that means that his senses are not enemy to him That's why the jumpscare (almost) when venom just casually pulling pete is because of that
This definitely had that element where it was just too ahead of its time - and even with the flaws, it was still so entertaining. Bully Maguire is a legend!
For me I didn't know that people hate this movie cause when I first watched it I did really enjoy it just like the first two. This is one of my fav movie and also my fav Spiderman adaptation, I like the other Spiderman adaptation (newer ones) too but this Spiderman trilogy is my childhood movie 😌☺️
You said “at the end they get to start fresh”. The truth is “at the end they figured it out and ended up together”. Luckily we got to hear that Peter and MJ are still together in No Way Home. 😊
57:43 In the Novelisation of Spiderman 3, towards the beginning in that scene with Aunt May, Peter plays the Piano at Aunt May's apartment and he can't play one key properly, but after the symbiote, this scene was meant to represent how much the symbiote has been improving his skills. Really cool stuff. The symbiote helping him in all sorts of ways. Please read the Novelisation of these movies, they provided so much more details about the full story.
The novelizations are good, but in the bank scene in SM2, Aunt May clearly states she's giving piano lessons "again", which Peter acknowledges, so it seems this scene in SM3 is a nod to that - May probably taught Peter how to play piano when he was a kid. We see an upright piano in the background of their home in SM1 as well.
That wraps up the OG spidey trilogy!! Been waiting all week for this! What a funnily iconic ending, opening up the possibility of a different kind of spidey person
Despite the movies flaws, the scene where Peter and Harry team up is really well done! From them joining forces to Harry’s last-second save and ultimate sacrifice. What an ending.
Venom is even more intimidating when you realise he's invisible to Peter's Spider Sense hence why he's able to do those jump scares, Raimi may not have liked Venom but truly utilised the character's abilities and his own horror expertise to the best he could
Spiderman 3 made me cry the most out of the three. Sandman's redemption and Harry's death kill me. "None of that matters Peter. You're my friend." This film may have flaws, but to me, it had the most heart. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing.❤😢
Love watching movies with you guys. Such lovely souls it’s like I’m re watching these movies with friends in person lol.. and you show just the right cuts which is perfect
Aunt May in Spider-Man 2 said she taught piano lessons. Peter hitting Mary Jane was a reference to the character of Hank Pym and his relationship with his wife Janet Van dyne.
Having a partner to be by your side watching movies , and appreciating this art form is beautiful. Both of you are 1 of 1. Never expected to be this excited over someone’s reactions and thoughts over movies I love. What a journey.. what a journey.
Peter’s biggest downfall with MJ was she just wanted her feelings validated that it was okay to be upset. Poor thing just wanted a hug and told its okay.
This movie is still quite entertaining and emotional despite suffering from too many plot points. We can blame the studio without a doubt. Now seeing it again as an adult it hits me in the face... uncle Ben's killer, the symbiote, Venom, Sandman, Goblin Jr., Gwen Stacy and more... way, way too much
Fun note from the novel for the film, Harry was stronger and didn’t go as crazy, because he got the full serum, Norman’s was stopped before even half way. Anyway, love the reactions guys, keep it up!
So when I was a kid, like 5 the first Spider-Man was on repeat then fast-forward late middle pre freshman years Spider-Man 3 stayed on repeat. I never really noticed the big love for 2 until I got older. 🤷🏾♂️ For me it was 1 and 3
I saw this when I was ten. As I grew up, I loved it, then hated it because everyone did at the time, then rounded all the way back to loving it again. Flaws and all.
Theres a What Happened by Matt McMuscles who did a great deep dive in this one. For example, Rami never liked Venom, so thats part of why we got this version. Fun watch
imagine in a different universe where the piece of symbiote peter gave to connors survives and breaks out thus creating a venomized lizard for peter to fight. crazy
I always say this about this movie. It DID NOT need Venom as a villain. I felt the movie was trying to do too much at once. Sandman and The New Goblin could've easily carried this movie. Because both have compelling storylines tying back to the previous films. It would've been better keeping Eddie Brock as a background character to tease for later films and eventually we'd get Venom. Still a great movie though.
@ellehcimbelle yeah I heard it was the Studio's decision, and I hear they wanted Lizard for the fourth film but Rami wanted Vulture and I believe they said he was scouting John Malcovich to play him.
Two fun facts 1. At 1:08:30 the noises used for those scenes were Tasmanian Devil 2. At 1:09:35 it had a completely different scene. It was said that it was a completely darker film in the original cut and at the timestamp i left, instead of smacking Venom, Spider-Man was actually going to stab him in the chest. This would reveal the symbiote pealing the face mask back and revealing a horrifying moment of seeing Eddie’s skull. It would show how his skull had changed too. Once revealed all the bones would fall out and the symbiote would try to bond with Peter again. I can’t exactly remember what happened next, but some of the pipes would fall and rebars to which one would stab the changed skull of Eddie before the same scene would play out.
When i first saw Spiderman 3, i didn't really like it. Now i really appreciate it. Emo Peter is so good. I think this is the most Raimi Spiderman it just took me a while to see it.
39:21 that moment seeing the black-suit Spider-Man when they released it in theaters as “Spider-Monday“ playing one spiderman film in eight Monday and the audience went nuts and cheered to see that moment
Spider-Man 3 with Tobey “Jazz Hands” Maguire is like that weird uncle at family gatherings-cringe but downright entertaining. The emo dance scene? So bad it’s good, like a Golden Retriever trying to be badass. Sandman’s a walking beach day gone wrong, Venom’s about as threatening as a kitten in a sweater, and Harry Osborn rocks that amnesia plot like it’s fall fashion. It’s messy and chaotic, but it pulls it all together like a drunk navigating an obstacle course. I love Spider-Man 3 and would’ve absolutely loved a fourth film from Raimi and Maguire. Sue me, or better yet, challenge me to a dance-off-I’ve been practicing my emo hair flip! 🖤
Let's all remember the fact that while Peter is a superhero, at the end of the day he's still a nerd. So when everyone wants to criticize the Bully Maguire montage, keep in mind that he's doing what a nerd thinks is hip on symbiotic steroids
Call me weird but I always liked the scenes where Mary Jane visited Harry, specifically because of the outfit she was wearing, although I would have liked the skirt to be shorter, since I like her legs and that focus where you see her legs dancing is a delight, although I also liked her waitress outfit with those stockings.
My fav reaction channel❤️❤️ I recommended you watch Your Name cause I just went back to watch you two reacted to One Piece. I thinks next year is time for you to explore more Asian Movie/Animation .
My problem with the movie was that there are too many characters. Harry's evil turn had the most dramatic development across the first two movies, so you expect him to be the focus as the central villain to give us the most payoff. But the film has too much other stuff going on, so they sideline him for a good chunk of the film with...amnesia? Like this is some cheap daytime TV soap opera? And the really disappointing thing about the whole Peter/Harry conflict is that it feels like it could've all been worked out if the characters had just sat down and had a good talk. Heck, Bernard talked some sense into Harry in a single scene, yet Peter couldn't? Then you have this whole revenge/forgiveness plot with Sandman AND they also shoehorn in the Venom Symbiote story because producer Avi Arad demanded it. It all feels like it could've been two different movies instead of being crammed into one.
That Bernard scene was atrocious. A heavy handed, lazy way of solving an issue that has persisted through the entire course of the trilogy. Harry going to help out of his own volition or Peter finally talking sense into him would’ve been a much better, emotionally rich way to go.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Agreed that having Venom be teased, and set up for a fourth film would have helped this one a lot. The Tom Hardy "Venom" films take the character in another direction, not (to my knowledge) accurate to the comic lore, but I enjoyed the first 2 a lot. The thired one... not as much.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Spider Man 3.1 (Editors Cut) makes a few changes to the film, with one of them being related to that particular scene. It gives you a taste of what could have been. Its available to buy on most digital platforms and even on Blu-ray through a collectors set, would highly recommend. Also, you guys rock with your film reactions 🔥
My favorite reaction channel. Love u guys. Yall are the perfect blend of enjoying the entertainment of a film as well as the analysis side of it. Keep it up homeys
Shame we never find out if Sandmans daughter survived it would've given closure to the character. Overall this is a solid third movie not quite on par with 1 & 2 but nowhere near as bad as some make out. Maybe if they'd done a 2 part film it would've fleshed out the character arcs & story & ended part 1 with the birth of Venom. Excellent reaction you pair always brighten up my day & remind me why I love movies.
28:05 it's ok. Gwen is a better match anyway. 😁 I hate MJ. Granted it's because of the writers but they always make her make his life horrible, either by cheating or something else. And when it does go good, she dies. 🤦
I don't remember if it's in the movie, but in the game it's established that Venom has kidnapped Sandman's daughter, which is why he's working with him.
1:03:48 I always thought this scene was so stupid. A very forced moment from Harry's butler that kind of comes out of nowhere that REALLY NEEDED to be brought up much earlier. It's fixed in the Editor's Cut of the movie where instead of the butler having a heart to heart with Harry that doesnt leave any impact, Harry picks up a photo of the three of them super happy as a group and HE ALONE makes the decision to help Peter save MJ "We can always choose to do what's right"
I disagree I like the butler scene with Harry because it shows us he’s aware of everything that was happening with Harry’s dad and Harry himself it kinda felt like an Alfred and Bruce Wayne thing. And he only spoke up in the end because he knew Peter was right and Harry would listen because he’s been with the family for years.
Great reaction, guys. I honestly enjoyed the film, but I can understand why people didn't really like it. And I can understand your complaints, too. I know its not the same thing, But Arrow Season 2 hundle the whole best-friend-turn-enemy story a bit better in my opinion. It wasn't as rushed as this movie. But then again, it is a movie not a series so I can understand the struggles. I was wondering if you have ever watched this films: 1. The Last Samurai (2003) 2. The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980) 3. The Gods Must Be Crazy II (1989) 4. Greystoke: Legends of Tarzan, King of the Apes (1984) 5. Dinorsaurs (2000) 6. A Bugs Life (1998) 7. Beverly Hills Ninja (1997) 8. American Ninja (1985) 9. Enter the Ninja (1981) 10. Revenge of the Ninja (1983) 11. Ninja III: The Domination (1984) 12. Hellraiser (1987) This are some of my favorite films, and the last one, in particular, is one that you two will probably enjoy the most since it's an 80's horror film. Thank you for your reaction video of this movie, it was really enjoyable, and informative.
I do think this film gets way more hate than it deserves, but as a massive Venom fan (my favorite Marvel character), I cannot forgive how they depicted and just kind of shoehorned in the character for the final act. Not to mention I absolutely despise this film’s Venom design. Regardless, overall it’s not a terrible film in my opinion, though it definitely is the weakest in the trilogy.
You should continue on with the Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies then maybe the Spider-verse movies. And this movie isnt terrible, there just were some weird decisions made
I agree with you both about the Birth Of Venom in the church. I think they should have ended the 3rd movie at the church. He just beat Harry's butt (villain #1) and he'd already beat Villain #2. (Sandman) Both villains beat and then Peter beat the surprise villain #3 (the Venom symbiote) in the church. They should have ended SM3 there. Open SM4 with the scene in the church and the birth of Venom. They could have had two great movies instead of a single good movie with too much going on. More character backgrounds and developments. They could have shot both movies at the same time as well. Denise, I agree that Eddie needed to be more developed and not as shitty right away. SM4 could be more Eddie and Venom development. Then have the final 4-way fight at the end. They could have set up SM5 with Doctor Conners beginning his experiments that would lead to Dr Crocodile.
AVI ARAD has ruined so far... * Borderlands * Venom: The Last Dance * Daredevil (2003) * The Punisher (2004) * Elektra (2005) * Fantastic Four (2005) * X-Men: The Last Stand * Spider-Man 3 * Bratz (2007) * Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance * The Amazing Spider-Man 2 * Ghost in the Shell (2017) * Venom: Let There Be Carnage * Uncharted (2022) * Morbius And now he's gonna ruin... * Kraven the Hunter * Legend of Zelda * Naruto As long as Arad lives, there's no hope

I loved re watching these with yall I can’t remember the last time watching them. ❤
It doesn't really feed off negativity, it feeds off anger. I love that they finally got to a spider symbiote, but my favorite interpretation of the black suit spidey has to still be the 90s animated series. It was so well done.

The Bully Maguire dance was so iconic. And if you guys didn’t know, Yuri Lowenthal, who plays Spider-Man in the Insomniac Games universe, actually did the Bully Maguire dance when he, Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), and the other cast was present at one special event in 2023 when they promoted Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 game.
In the last while I’ve really enjoyed watching your guy’s reactions to movies. It was such a surprise that you guys started to revisit Tobey’s Spider man movies. Those 3 movies are SO SO precious to me!! I was born in the 2000’s and these 3 spider man movies of Tobey Maguire’s were my introduction to the Superhero genre. They’re so integral to my childhood!!! To this day, I still have such a strong love for the Superhero Genre!! Marvel is DEFINITELY my favorite!! I’ve literally watched all three of them BILLIONS of times over the years!! I was pretty young when all 3 of them came out and I never got a chance to see them when they were in theaters. As I’ve gotten older, at a lot of times I’ve wished I got to see them BUT earlier this year ALL of the spider man movies were re-released. I didn’t get to see the first or second one which I’m still bummed about but I was able to see the 3rd one which meant a lot to me! I love all three of them but for me, the 3rd one is my favorite!! It was really the Venom storyline I got pulled to. For some reason, I just really found that part of the movie really cool and interesting!! Both of you brought up some really interesting points especially on the negative side of the movie, some things that I never thought of before. From my first time I saw it, I was completely unaware that there was an original/ first draft of the movie. In the last couple years I’ve learned a lot of what was supposed to originally happen. Vulture was supposed to be the main big villian of spider man 3. That would have been really interesting and wild! From what I remember hearing, after spider man 3 came out and the 4 one was being worked on, the original plans for the 3rd movie became part of the plot/ story for the 4th one. I also learned the ending of spider man 3 was supposed to be A LOT DARKER!! Especially for Eddie. I learned that Sam Rami wanted in the moment when Peter pulled Eddie out from the symbiote to actually reveal Eddie’s bones/ skeleton!! That would have shown that the symbiote devoured/ killed Eddie. I’m glad that wasn’t in the Final Cut! That would have probably scared me a bit. With the MCU, I’ve had a hope for a while for a possibility of a 4th movie happening where Tobey returns as his Spider man. That would be so insane and would be another dream come true like No Way Home was!!!
@OfficialMediaKnights tbh, i kinda forgot that Harry forced that breakup, though i do love suoer confident Peter, hope he gets to do that without being a dick

Peter's little dance montage down the street is HILARIOUS without the music... It's just pure gold.
Fun fact:
The final battle between Venom and Spidey is that Pete can't sense Venom
It's because that Venom bonded with him for a while that means that his senses are not enemy to him
That's why the jumpscare (almost) when venom just casually pulling pete is because of that
Fun fact Bryce Dallas Howard was pregnant during filming and still did alot of stunts in that crane scene
oh wow I didn’t know she was pregnant during filming Spider-Man 3 also Gal Gadot was pregnant awhile filming Wonder Woman (2017)

I think we weren't ready for this movie when it released. I hated it the first time, but now I dig it. And that "Get on up" scene is legendary

Spider-Man 3 is my all time favorite, when Harry died and say "YOUR MY FRIEND" And the music OMG i tear up 😢
Yes😢😥
@ethandemero yea man
57:43 In the Novelisation of Spiderman 3, towards the beginning in that scene with Aunt May, Peter plays the Piano at Aunt May's apartment and he can't play one key properly, but after the symbiote, this scene was meant to represent how much the symbiote has been improving his skills.
@pc_buildyb0i935 It's literally canon that Peter doesn't know how to play the piano well , doesn't have the right rhythm. No arguments there .
Peter knows how to play the piano because of his Aunt May. In the second film, she mentions having returned to teaching piano.
Not only that, but we clearly see an upright piano in the background of Aunt May's place in SM1
That wraps up the OG spidey trilogy!! Been waiting all week for this! What a funnily iconic ending, opening up the possibility of a different kind of spidey person
Give sam the money and let him do spider man 4 , on his terms with his story and tobey, the movie will make a billion.

Despite the movies flaws, the scene where Peter and Harry team up is really well done! From them joining forces to Harry’s last-second save and ultimate sacrifice. What an ending.
Kind of remind me of Spider-Man 2 game.
I love it too 🎉
Venom is even more intimidating when you realise he's invisible to Peter's Spider Sense hence why he's able to do those jump scares, Raimi may not have liked Venom but truly utilised the character's abilities and his own horror expertise to the best he could
Spiderman 3 made me cry the most out of the three. Sandman's redemption and Harry's death kill me. "None of that matters Peter. You're my friend." This film may have flaws, but to me, it had the most heart. Forgiveness is a beautiful thing.❤😢
Ahhhh man. Those moments got us - it sucks we had to lose Harry so quick, we would have loved some more time with him!
James Franco killed it in this movie 😂 the campiness he displayed was off the charts

Peter’s biggest downfall with MJ was she just wanted her feelings validated that it was okay to be upset. Poor thing just wanted a hug and told its okay.
This movie is still quite entertaining and emotional despite suffering from too many plot points. We can blame the studio without a doubt. Now seeing it again as an adult it hits me in the face... uncle Ben's killer, the symbiote, Venom, Sandman, Goblin Jr., Gwen Stacy and more... way, way too much
Originally the movie was only suppose to focus on the Harry Goblin and Sandman
Fun note from the novel for the film, Harry was stronger and didn’t go as crazy, because he got the full serum, Norman’s was stopped before even half way. Anyway, love the reactions guys, keep it up!
Them being so excited for the tag team of Peter & Harry really broke my heart knowing what was coming
So when I was a kid, like 5 the first Spider-Man was on repeat then fast-forward late middle pre freshman years Spider-Man 3 stayed on repeat. I never really noticed the big love for 2 until I got older. 🤷🏾♂️ For me it was 1 and 3

I never understood the hate for this movie. Yea it had a lot of stories but it was still a great movie
Movie is awsome, but Foreman as Brock? Good Perun - he is so lame.
I saw this when I was ten. As I grew up, I loved it, then hated it because everyone did at the time, then rounded all the way back to loving it again. Flaws and all.
I like this movie but I stand by the assertion that using Grace’s regular voice for Venom was just a poor, poor choice.
Ahhhh totally agreed!!! With the visuals of Venom, and how menacing he looked, we needed a gravelly, otherworldly voice to go along with it!
You can say it was a poor choice of his voice, but i pesonally think it indicates that Eddie is the one who's saying these things, not Venom
seriously, i'm loving this channel for a while already, so many films i've watched when a kiddo, i love both your reactions, keep doing the work!
Rami was forced to include Venom, he didn’t even like the character, and it shows.
@ellehcimbelle yeah I heard it was the Studio's decision, and I hear they wanted Lizard for the fourth film but Rami wanted Vulture and I believe they said he was scouting John Malcovich to play him.
Two fun facts
1. At 1:08:30 the noises used for those scenes were Tasmanian Devil
I Never knew that However, I know they made a music video but it was never on the DVD of skillet's monster with venom @monke0o0

Such an awesome suit! Can’t wait to see a black suit Spider-Man again 😃
@OfficialMediaKnights in the MCU yes
So when everyone wants to criticize the Bully Maguire montage, keep in mind that he's doing what a nerd thinks is hip on symbiotic steroids
that actually makes a lot of sense
Some nerds see a fedora and go "so cool", Bully Maguire saw dancing and went "that's so dope"
I've grown to love Spider-Man 3 over the years
that black suit was a waste opportunity to the iconic black with the wide spider
FYI peters spider sense doesnt work with venom. Thats how he snuck up on him so many times
"Marko... Polo" :D Denise, I love You, babe :D
True, MJ in Raimi's Spidey is awful - she cheating on Peter so many times.
It's fixed in the Editor's Cut of the movie where instead of the butler having a heart to heart with Harry that doesnt leave any impact, Harry picks up a photo of the three of them super happy as a group and HE ALONE makes the decision to help Peter save MJ
"We can always choose to do what's right"
I disagree I like the butler scene with Harry because it shows us he’s aware of everything that was happening with Harry’s dad and Harry himself it kinda felt like an Alfred and Bruce Wayne thing.
I was wondering if you have ever watched this films:
1. The Last Samurai (2003)
2. The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980)
3. The Gods Must Be Crazy II (1989)
4. Greystoke: Legends of Tarzan, King of the Apes (1984)
5. Dinorsaurs (2000)
6. A Bugs Life (1998)
7. Beverly Hills Ninja (1997)
8. American Ninja (1985)
9. Enter the Ninja (1981)
10. Revenge of the Ninja (1983)
11. Ninja III: The Domination (1984)
12. Hellraiser (1987)
This are some of my favorite films, and the last one, in particular, is one that you two will probably enjoy the most since it's an 80's horror film.
Thank you for your reaction video of this movie, it was really enjoyable, and informative.
"Bad" isn't really the word I'd use to describe this movie. I would say it has more off moments than the first two, but also has redeemable qualities.
A lot of people and critics tore this movie apart but I loved it. Come on it's Spider-Man. Great reaction guys love you.
The symbiote package is dope, with that piano skills ahaha
You should continue on with the Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies then maybe the Spider-verse movies. And this movie isnt terrible, there just were some weird decisions made
The amount of meme formats that come from this trilogy is truly amazing lol
Peter was indeed an idiot but MJ was a homie hopper too, Bully Maguire was warranted. Team Gwen
True, she can't decide which man she want it - Peter or Harry, Peter or John Jameson.
53:20 there it is 😂, I never thought I would hear you guys say his name, a man of focus, commitment...
Spider-man 3. It's one of my favorite movies, and if I'm correct. This is Venom first movie appearance. And how scary venom was before his own movie
I agree with you both about the Birth Of Venom in the church. I think they should have ended the 3rd movie at the church. He just beat Harry's butt (villain #1) and he'd already beat Villain #2. (Sandman)
Both villains beat and then Peter beat the surprise villain #3 (the Venom symbiote) in the church.

We really enjoyed what they did with him, wished we got some more time to explore him as a character.
It doesn't really feed off negativity, it feeds off anger.

The movie that introduced us to Bully Maguire
