Thats a great suggestion! i am looking for a new portable touch screen monitor. I just made a samsung Dex video, Check it out and let me know what i might have missed on Dex features! ruclips.net/video/GHaqquwT-_A/видео.html
Came here from Reddit. First video of yours that I've seen. Fantastic and entertaining video! Subscribed. (Currently use DeX natively on my Tab S4 and on my S20 Ultra using DeX on PC.)
U like ur videos to be honest. My order for my own ZenScreen comes in tomorrow, I ordered the M16QAH (i think) I bought the 120hz motion model. Im buying it for my Nintendo Switch & PS5. I’m currently now hospitalized at Methodist Hospital waiting on Hospice Care and bought this model for gaming and to watch my iPhone 16+ on bc I literally have all the subscriptions available Netflix,Max,etc. on my phone and consoles. So i saw the benefits of expensive investment. I’m buying a Amazon Warehouse “used” product in original packaging. For $245.00
Great content, and great delivery. It's clear you are a technology expert. Please make more of these videos. I would love to see you review the latest smartphones too!
I don't like that Asus screen for two reasons which you mentioned: It is only 1080 and it is not too bright. However, you talk in a such a convincing and informative way while expertly connecting with your online audience that you can easily be a terrific sales or marketing person of a top high tech corporation. Maybe you already are one. And because of that I liked your video and I already subscribed to your channel hoping you will have other interesting videos as the this one. And yes, I use and love DEX. I use it with a 32 inch 1080 Samsung TV and Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. I have the following interfaces to connect: the Microsoft wired adapter and a Samsung Dex cable. No hub. I use sometimes the wireless Microsoft adapter. But the one that gives the best DEX experience is the Samsung DEX cable. Best wishes to you and your channel! You already have one more avid subscriber.
i rarely comment on YOutube, guess im just not used to. but your review is really cool. i'm awaiting exactly same monitor now to be delivered and you just assured me i made a right choice

This review was like finding that cable you thought was lost. @4:12 you gave me one solution and went on to explain dex plus notes plus Bluetooth, genius. Now I have to figure out how to run this in my car and get rid of my head unit. Sub 🖖👽 Let's build that base!
what software do I need to install in my fold 6. I used it and it seems I can not use the fullscreen, it just like an extension or duplicate. I wanted to used it as an extendended monitor where I can use it with full screen as you shown it here. I have samsung dex on my android that is why I got connected using usb-c connection
Hello since i tried the Apps i need in the left right corner always is a sign with a menu, is this necessary to use the monitor? Please can you help me.
Good video. I've had an iPhone from the beginning but the Samsung DEX feature is really causing me to lean towards getting a Samsung phone when I next go to upgrade. It's honestly near to having a computer in your pocket.
If you allow the connected device to charge in the menu, then it can charge it self from the phone. You can then wirelessly charge your phone to make sure that doesnt get depleted.
i dun understand, Samsung makes Galaxy Phone, the OneUI, the DeX, and makes LCD monitors.. and Dex Station and DeX Pad, so why not a monitor for DeX use? (like NeX dock, with keyboard and touchpad)
Can I charge & watch like at the airport w/ usb C charging & is it passing charge to my phone? What is the bear Apple Mac mini or iPhone compatible for windows touch on Mac?
I needed something simple and cheap so I bought a 100 bucks 15 inch thing with no touchscreen or battery. I added an old wireless KB and mouse. It's just so I can turn my phone into a computer when I need to do something quick.
Thank you for the video. You had all the info I needed to make an informed decision on what monitor I was going to get for my note 20 ultra. No I would need to risk buying something that won't work. Ask I often do. Thank you again.
Great thanks. I just got this mostly because of this review! Love it, except one thing I am struggling with.. Is there a way to use it with my phone connected with the USB-C cable, and have it charging? I cannot find a dock or usbc splitter that will support charging while having video input at the same time. hope this makes sense. I know there is the HDMI input, but the touchscreen function will not work while I use this, and I dont want to have to carry an HDMI cord everywhere too. Right now as soon as the battery is dead on either my phone or the screen, I have to stop using it and charge it back up before reconnecting. Please and thank you!
I usually have a wireless charger for my phone so that is continuously charged when I use the phone and screen at a desk. i then turn on the option in the screen to allow charging from the connected device so that the screen is also charged from the phone.
Interesting piece of kit. Oh, what is that extremely annoying tapping in the background? From my end I thought something in our home was making noise, it drove us nuts, then we realized it is from your video. Why do RUclipsrs think background music/noise makes their videos better. Be aware, we came to hear your not music, also many folks have hearing difficulties thus that annoying background noise make hearing/understanding you difficult.
About the DEX experience. If I understood it correctly, the monitor will be powered by usb-c, which means you have some hours of usage of both screen and cellphone in direct connect. Now, to combine that with a charger - how would the setup be? A USB adapter for the cellphone, connection through USB A to C to the monitor and HDMI from the adapter to the micro-hdmi of the screen? And if that's the scenario, would touch still be available?
I think the best set up would be to connect the phone to the screen using a usb-c to usb-c. On the screen change the setting to allow it to charge from the phone as you are using it and then place the phone onto a wireless charger so that it can be charged at the same time as using it.
@@BallysRealm Thanks for the answer! That's a cool idea that I didn't thought about. And as Dex enabled devices have quick wireless charging, this might be the best solution! Really thank you!
Hi I've been running Dex for about a year now. I use: ASUS Zenscreen MB16AMT Logitech MX Master 2s Mouse Logitech K580 Keyboard I use a Targus USB C hub when I need to connect up an external drive. I've got adaptors and all for USB C to HDMI. Keep up the vids, great stuff :-)
Bally, Just joined your channel today, absolutely love your videos! Currently studying an online IT traineeship and after much googling for extra curricular studies, I came across your page. You are the embodiment of what I want to be doing on the side. Any tips for a new die hard fan? :P
P.S. Thought youd like to know (stats) I originally found you on Reddit, as I see some others have and now here we all are! Absolutely fantastic channel for visual aids. Your channel's so useful for more practical applications in a working/home/day-to-day environment. Bravo mate. What's your day job?
Welcome. Glad that you are ejoying the content. I started this channel at a time that I was off for personal paternity leave so had the time make, plan and edit all the videos. Since then I have found it hard to post regularly and build my channel up as I would have wanted to. My first tip would be to make sure you post regularly - this will build up your video editing and recording skills. It will also improve your skills on camera and make your presenting better. Second tip - Make videos about the stuff you are passionate about. I am passionate about everything on my channel and therefore enjoy buying and making videos about these products. Try and address the need for knowledge - make your videos as entertaning and educational as you can so that the viewers walk away with something to remember/use. Most importantly, just start and do things. Dont put things off until everything aligns perfectly and only then you can release the video (this was more of a tip to me - haha) Good luck!
I jsut used the cable that came with the screen. The included USBC to USBC. Plugged into the USBC port on the screen. I had to install the zenscreen touch app on my phone to make it touch screen.
The only way to use it like this is to connect it via the wire and set the option on the screen to charge form the phone. Then you can wirelessly charge the phone.
@@BallysRealm Thanks, I ended up buying the Pepper Jobs screen for that reason. It has an additional USB-C port, although its power is very low (apparently to avoid reverse charging) and it doesn't really charge the phone much. It just doesn't let it discharge as you work. But it has an additional micro-USB to serve as a hub, so that's nice too. I wish there's more competition in this segment soon.
So I love the monitor, I have one myself but I can't believe you didn't talk about how to hook up the monitor to the Z Fold 3. I've tried with the USB C and no dice. Some help would be AWESOME!

I do not know where to Turn on Handy Tool for touch asst & features. Basically the Zenscreen Touch app tutorial sucks. It just give you a billet list of what to do but no visuals or instructions on HOW to do what it only list to do with no detail and/or video. Please help. Thanks
Hey I just got this asus zenscreen but with my Sam. note10+ I'm not able to run dex with this monitor (original usb-c cable) do you have any suggestion of what can be the reason? Thanks
Unfortunately it doesnt charge anything. The battery in the screen will have to be charged separately. The phone can charge the screen though. You can change these options in the monitor if you didnt want the phone to charge it.
Thank You! You can full screen Netflix. If this doesn't work, then you will need to do it via Dex Labs - "Open Settings on the desktop, then click on Samsung DeX. There you should see a toggle for Samsung DeX Labs. Clicking this will force all non-DeX apps to operate in full screen, and some will even be resizeable."
Can this screen play amazon prime or Sony liv apps via dex? When I connect dex to Windows 10 laptop, it deny to play media apps saying that protected contents cannot be played.
Samsung has DRM lock for Samsung Dex to PC for now, And wireless Dex to PC is native DRM locked. Only way to play video is HDMI or Wireless to Smart display or external displays. Amazon prime is also now up and running for Dex, But it's still a bit glitchy so be aware there might be some weirdness that happens if you use more then just itself for now. Hope that helps.
I haven't tried a shorter cable, but I have used a different USB C cable and it all worked fine. I don't see why a different shorter cable wouldn't work.
Hi I would love your advise now that 5he tab s8 ultra tablet has been released? I am thinking of buying the s22 ultra phone and an asus zen sceen mostly to have everything in one place on one device... However they seem to boast about synergy between the s22 ultra phone and s8 ultra tablet
S8 Ultra would be an ideal screen to view on (will be better than the Zenscreen touch) - but its almost 3 times the price! It all depends on what you are after. If you can manage 2 devices and their content and can afford it, then get both devices. If you just want to manage content on just 1 device, then the Zenscreen Touch will be a great way to give your phone a bigger screen. I think the synergy is more about sharing things to and from each device. If you have a video file on one device, I dont think it will automatically be on the other device.
I usually have a wireless charger for my phone so that is continuously charged when I use the phone and screen at a desk. i then turn on the option in the screen to allow charging from the connected device so that the screen is also charged from the phone.
Have you installed the required zenscreen apps on your S9 or S20 to make the touch screen possible? It needs to be connected via the USBC cable, not HDMI.
That woudl be amazing. I'll see if there is a way to do it once the update comes through for the S20 Ultra. Im not sure if they have any other products yet that support this.
@@BallysRealm did find this tho www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/474059/airview2-wireless-dex-4k-portable-wireless-touchscreen-beyond-the-world-future
Had an idea, but need to test it. Perhaps an Amazon fire TV stick (for Miracast) plugged into the HDMI (maybe powdered by the USBC socket of the screen or a powerbank) then it becomes a wireless Dex screen
Can this monitor be powered off of the power port in your car? The battery would work for a while, but I routinely drive 6 hours one way so i need it to be powered by the car, thank you
Since the Monitor only has 1 USB-C input for charging and data, the best way to do this would be to allow your screen to charge from your phone when connected with a wire and then get a wireless charger that plugs into the power port on your car to continuously charge the phone so it doesnt run out of batter, Hope that helps.
Hi mate, great video. Just wondering how to charge at the same time using dex? Charge through of course usb c and connect the phone through the hdmi? But will touch work through hdmi? Cheers!
Touch will only work via USB-C cable. HDMI will only give you the picture. You can change the setting on the screen to allow you to charge from your smartphone and then you can use a wireless charger to charge your phone at the same time.
They have a non touch screen version as a 14". I dont think ive seen any other sizes that small like you need. Have you considered the Samsung Tab S7 +? I purchased one recently and think its perfect!
@@BallysRealm The S7+ is like 2.5 times as expensive as the MB16AMT and knowing Samsung, it will stop getting updates after two years. You never have to upgrade a screen. Plus, the Tab S7(+) has a lot of overlap with my S20. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Qr" touch version.
Great video thanks! Do you know if I can use a type C splitter to charge and use dex at the same time ? I want it to replace my laptop so 4 hrs use is not enough thanks
Hi, I dont believe this is possible. The usbc cable acts as a HDMI alt mode connection (allowing a HDMI signal to be used through a USB C cable) A splitter would not allow the signal to go through. It has to be point to point.
As long as you have the right adapters to connect the iPad mini via HDMI to the screen - then you can only get the video output on the monitor. Touch does not work with iOS devices as far as I am aware.
Via USB-C. If using out and about I can get about 4 hours of use from the screen. You can prolong this a little by selecting the setting in the screen menu to allow charging from the phone. Bare in mind that this will deplete the battery of the phone also. If using on a desk, you can turn on charging from a phone and wirelessly charge your phone so you have loads more battery life for both devices.

Hey I just got this asus zenscreen but with my Sam. note10+ I'm not able to run dex with this monitor (original usb-c cable) do you have any suggestion of what can be the reason? Thanks
Have you set the device type in the screens menu to mobile? Sometimes that helps pick up the device.
Um pen quality?
Will it charge your phone from either the screen's internal battery or when the screen is plugged in to charge and your phone is connected as well?
Unfortunately it doesnt charge anything. The battery in the screen will have to be charged separately. The phone can charge the screen though. You can change these options in the monitor if you didnt want the phone to charge it.
Does it support the S Pen as well?
Just checked and unfortunately it didnt react to the S pen I have with my Tab S7+
Awesome, but how did you get the Netflix library full screen?
Great Answer. Thank you
As @KillerRaptorr said, you can play it wired USB-C or HDMI connection and wirelessly to a smart display or miracast device.
Have you tried using other type C cable? E.g. shorter ones to keep it neat or the proprietary is a must for the touch screen to work.
I haven't tried a shorter cable, but I have used a different USB C cable and it all worked fine. I don't see why a different shorter cable wouldn't work.
Love it
Thanks :)
Great présentation !
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video.
@@BallysRealm agreed thank you so much
If the battery is empty, how can you charge it while you are connected to Dex?
I usually have a wireless charger for my phone so that is continuously charged when I use the phone and screen at a desk. i then turn on the option in the screen to allow charging from the connected device so that the screen is also charged from the phone.
I have a note 20 ultra, will I still need a Dex station with this or can I just use the usb-C cable and turn on the Dex on my phone?
USB C cable should wotk.
is touch screen option functional in this scenario ?
Yes it is. You need to make sure you install the Asus app on yoru phone for that to work.
Touch screen functionality not working here on S9 and S20. Dex shows up and the screen is displayed properly.
Have you installed the required zenscreen apps on your S9 or S20 to make the touch screen possible? It needs to be connected via the USBC cable, not HDMI.
@@BallysRealm Yes, no difference unfortunately...
It would be extra brilliant if the Zenscreen Touch would support the new wireless DeX mode! Any new models coming up?
That woudl be amazing. I'll see if there is a way to do it once the update comes through for the S20 Ultra. Im not sure if they have any other products yet that support this.
@@BallysRealm did find this tho www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/474059/airview2-wireless-dex-4k-portable-wireless-touchscreen-beyond-the-world-future
That looks very promising!
Had an idea, but need to test it. Perhaps an Amazon fire TV stick (for Miracast) plugged into the HDMI (maybe powdered by the USBC socket of the screen or a powerbank) then it becomes a wireless Dex screen
It worked! (with minor modifications only) Video for this being released here today: ruclips.net/video/KuSGMP0bYAo/видео.html
What about rotation in Android connection??
It only auto rotates on Windows. I wish it did it with my android connected - it would be like a big screen for my screen as it is now!
@@BallysRealm Thank you sir
You're watching 6 hours of video while driving!.
@@hamsterfangz It does a lot more than video.
Can you please elaborate on its portrait mode?
It only works with the pc not the android?
Yes that is correct. It only works with the PC. I wish it worked with the phone - then i could use it like a massive mirror of my phone screen!
@@BallysRealm exactly why I bought the monitor and adjustable arm. Should have done my research before spending money
I wish there was a smaller version, like 12" or 13". Cannot find 14" on Amazon (DE, my default destination within the EU).
That's a good question, thank you for asking it. To bad he hasn't answered, I've been wondering the same thing.....
Hi, I dont believe this is possible. The usbc cable acts as a HDMI alt mode connection (allowing a HDMI signal to be used through a USB C cable) A splitter would not allow the signal to go through. It has to be point to point.
As above, I dont believe it is possible.
Thank you for your reply
Will this one work with Ipad mini 5?
As long as you have the right adapters to connect the iPad mini via HDMI to the screen - then you can only get the video output on the monitor. Touch does not work with iOS devices as far as I am aware.
i have one and i might use ur adviice i like your enthusiast ....... yes i did hit those button!
Thank you so much!
can u add an external keyboard when using your smartphone?
Hi, Yes you can connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
That's awesome
Thank you!
How do you charge it? That's important.
Nice video brother and I really want this but unfortunately cos of covid I lost my job so I can't afford it
Sorry to hear that. 1 day you will - Keep faith.
