    hey man i have this same car! and i was glad to hear what you had to say about the rear deck speaker. i have that same problem, and couldn’t figure out how to replace it. and people aren’t really talking about it online. i found the replacement online, which wasn’t actually too expensive, but i have no idea how to remove it. overall i’m super happy with this car. it’s been very reliable

    Nice car, Malcom. Like the wheels. You didn't mention what size you ended up with - 19", 20"? Yeah, I have the same car. You were spot on with many of the "issues" you mentioned. That "ticking" noise emanating from the M276 motor is indeed the direct injection. No worries there... I don't think your window regulators are on their way out. That is the sound of the motors... Mine sound pretty much the same (as does my 91 M-B 300CE, and I've never had to replace those regulators). My sub also can rattle when listening to bass heavy music too, but M-B spent a lot of time and effort fine tuning that system to the car. It is a very accurate system. No exaggerating any particular frequency. Want more boom boom, they yes, you'd need an external subwoofer. I think the system sounds great for most music... I still think a $65k car should hold up with regards to wear and tear to the window lift switches and those on the steering wheel. I also own a classic W124 300CE (which is what our E350 Coupes evolved from). It is 33 years old, and all the switches, buttons, etc look as good as new. Bottom line is that every subsequent year, the car becomes more expensive to manufacture, so in order to keep the price consistent, they have to cut corners. My 300CE also cost $60k+ over three decades ago! The leather seats are superior, the controls are superior and even the ride ride feels more solid. But given the exorbitant prices European cars are fetching these days (my friend recently bought a G-Wagon, that car will cost you $375k - yeah, they're selling them for $100k over retail!). Anyway, I really enjoyed your no BS approach. Easy to listen to and to like you as well. Thanks and happy trails pal!

    bro... my parents just bought me a E coupe... i think Deisel.. it's black on black on aluminum wheels... Tints in the back.. INSANE low feel in the car like my old CAMARO SS.. feel when you dip down to sit in the car.
    It FEEELS like a COUPE.. sports.. MUSCLE car.. especially the REVVING.. even the DIESEL.. or this E350.. BOTH. engines feel REVVY MUSCLY... and BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL interior and EXTERIOR... and FEEL of the car driving.. it has AIR or magnetic suspension right? and the LOOK... I have a 2015 E350 4matic with 37,000 miles, I have some of the same problems, the chipped window switch, the ticking sound from the engine, the cracked center armrest cover on the drivers side (dealer quoted $500 to replace). Just a few days ago I got "Key Not Detected" message so none of the Keyless Go features work. I changed the battery in both keys, checked the fuses, tried pairing the key to the vehicle, nothing worked. Took it to the dealers "Quick service lane" they replaced the Energizer battery with a Panasonic battery, still nothing worked, was informed I need to make an appointment for service. 1 month waiting list for an appointment!!! (Thanks COVID, people are holding on to their cars longer and need service). Considering a Lexus (Yes MB is fun to drive but you pay for that fun).

      Damn, that's crazy.... I had the key not detected issue when my battery was going out. It could be your battery bro. Sorry I took a minute to reply but I would definitely check your battery. (Mine was about $375). After replacing the battery I never got one of those "key not detected" error messages

    I had just purchase a similar E350 coupe identical to yours with 116k miles and so far so good. All of the minor items you mentioned exactly the same with mine lol. And Yesssss the transmission shifts like a Sunday driver. I've noticed when I put it in sport mode it shifts a little quicker but I'm good with it. And glad to hear a 2nd opinion about that ticking noise. That was driving me crazy but I believe like you said it's something to do with the direct injection. I had a Cadillac ATS 2.0 that was direct injection and it was similar. Not quite as loud but similar. How has this car held up to you now? As with your driving I assume you're well over 100k by now? Is she still holding up well?

    Nice video man! I'm planning on getting one soon, its a 2012 E200 coupe bluetec. The issue it has, the engine makes a quick 3 second rattling noise when starting, then it disappears. The owner says its the chain tensioner. But i dont know yet. Any ideas if I should get it? I know its costly, but this issue scares me a little.

    • @malcolmneme6924
      @malcolmneme6924  3 года назад +3

      Shoot, am not too sure man. It could possible be the tensioner and the reason you only hear it for the first few seconds is because when you turn the car on, the oil takes a second or two to completely make its way around the entire system. In other words, the cam chains are wearing on the tensioner which is why you hear the noise but once things get lubricated properly, the noise goes away. About getting it, I would leave that up to you man..... usually those kind of repairs are not cheap if you have to do one. Sorry I took a while to reply

    • @sal.the.enthusiast
      @sal.the.enthusiast 3 года назад +1

    • @malcolmneme6924
      @malcolmneme6924  3 года назад +2

      Hey, These are very good cars.....as long as all the maintenance has been up to date, mostly the oil. I feel like most people don't realize how important it is to make sure the oil in your vehicle isn't contaminated. At 97K miles, I would verify the brake rotors has been replaced, coolant and brake fluid has been flushed/replaced. Also at that mileage, you should be on your second battery (mine died at about 75K miles or so) and second set of spark plugs.....I think for your year, the spark plugs aren't as bad to replace so it should not be as expensive as mine. The dealer wanted about $1200 to replace mine. Am currently at 105K miles right now and I haven't had any issues since I put up this video.
