My 2011 E350 has over 220K miles, without problem. At 200K the engine and trans mounts was replaced. Recently a check engine light came on and I replaced the fuel tank cover under the rear passenger side seat, using RUclips video instruction. Still running like a champ..
I love my 2014 E-350 we got this thing pimped out and I genuinely think this is one of the nicest Mercedes series.I got 19' wheels, bc racing coils, fully blacked out tint, etc, makes thing look like an amg
I had a 2011 e350 4matic for a few years, then replaced it with a 2014 which I still have. Both were/are station wagons in the luxury trim. Both were CPOs with MB warranties. The 2011's rear air suspension failed but was covered by the CPO warranty and was otherwise fine. The 2014 is no longer under CPO warranty but it has been and remains completely reliable and trouble free at about 85k miles. I've thankfully experienced none of the issues discussed here. It's as dependable as (dare I say it?) a Toyota!
Toyota??? hahaha i love benz but there is no way that any modern mb will hit 300000-500000 miles without major failure. I have 350000 miles on my old prius and just got the mb e350 as a extra car- i feel like im walking on the eggshells, And ironically- the old mercedes was known for hitting that mileage- w123 for example
2014 E-350, Just turned 186k and runs great, got it with 77k in 2019, lots of city miles, take it up to 110-120 regularly. Replaced motor mounts in 2020 and it rode like new. Such a great car , just a gem.
The problem I ran into was my brake line rusting out over the years when I bought it at 96,000 miles and I’ve had it for two years now and nothing major except regular maintenance, it’s still cruising at 130,000 miles 👍🏻 2010 E350 4matic
Good stuff . I have the same car a little over 100k at 102k I hope it’ll last another 20k till I buy my upgrade c43 Amg . Im starting a few mods during the holidays like new grills, lip , front and back lights etc . What a great car in my opinion
I also experienced a rusty brake line which lead to a pinhole leak and loss of breaking. Had to get it to the Mercedes dealer in Westchester NY who charged $2,000 for replacing both lines. Had no choice, but to bite the bullet. But, since then I have had no major issues and I get it regularly serviced.
Bro could you expound upon the first problem; transmission problem, I’ve had to change my ism of the car but haven’t clearly understood the issue and solution
I have a 2014 e350 with v6. Been a great car now at 105k miles. I did have to replace the front control arms covered in this video and the seal around timing chain cover. That is the only two things I have had done besides normal maintenance. Forgot. I replaced the bottom driver seat cover due to tearing also covered in this video.
I purchased my 2014 E350. I serviced transmission at 90.000 p&l $400 and new spark plugs and coils at 93,000 p&l $800. Just did the serpentine belt p&l $400 and radiator flush and fill $300. Next job looks like timing chain. p&l $3,000. I buy parts from FCP and do work at local mechanic. I am committed to doing the maintenance so the car runs tip top. The new spark plugs and trani service made huge improvement. Oil change at 4,000 miles with synthetic. Must do this.
We've had the e320 and two different years of the e350. They can be reliable, but we've had issues with the interior quality. Things come apart on the dash like the wood trim and the seats do tear easily at the seams. We tried getting help, but were told it would cost far too much and not be worth it. Parts are expensive so keep that in mind. Also avoid the dealership for any mechanical work whatsoever. As long as you don't get a dud, which happens with any manufacturer, then the e class is the most reliable and recommended class in the benz lineup. I'm unsure about the other models. The manual does tell you everything either. We have a factory remote start and there was 0 documentation about it. The local mechanic had to show us and we were surprised and confused because this whole time we never heard about it having a remote start at all.
In one week i will be picking up a 2011 W212 Luxury Trim with 167,000miles. Only ever had one other owner, according to carfax. Vertical stitch leather seats and moon roof, as well. Great video, this one. Thanks for all the hard work. Guys like me need guys like you.
I own a 2016 e350 as my daily driver and I bought it at 43k miles . I’ve had it for a little more than 2 years and so far it’s at 65k and I haven’t had any issues , just basic maintenance. My ONLY issue is the amg sport rims that come with the amg package . I live in NY so it snows heavy at times and when I tell you man ! That the snow and salt eat the rims is ridiculous ! Gotta fix them every year ! I would be upset if I had a real amg ! But other than that she’s been real reliable to me and she’s great on gas !
@@lexortiz1918I live in ny too. Just get rims powder coated and refinished. How’s the gas mileage on these? I’m looking for a daily driver because I can’t drive my V8 x5 daily.
@@dabronxguru1824 ahhh man it doesn’t get any better for a German luxury v6 . 500-600 miles on a full tank , highest I’ve seen on the dash was around 570-600 miles . My job is also very close and don’t commute much so I only spent $40 a week on gas . This vehicle is perfect ! Still a head turner, great on gas, has the Horse power to enjoy the car (304 hp), is fully aspirated so very reliable in the long run and maintenance really isn’t as expensive you’d think it would be . I love this car overall ! One of the best well rounded luxury German vehicle to own in my opinion
Thanks for the information on the E350’s. I am finally getting another Mercedes after an eleven year hiatus. Previously I drove a S550, SL500 and SDL350. The diesel went to 250,000 miles before I got rid of it. The gas engine cars were around 100,000 miles before trading for trucks and SUV’s. My brother bought several E models for his wife and I enjoy the sporty looks and ease of driving through the city. Also parking is easier than the suburban. I still have my SUV but will be inheriting my moms 2013 E350 that is a hybrid and I was wondering if it is worth keeping or should not.
My 2010 E350 has 136000 and is still running smooth. The check engine light came on a while back, I took it to the benz shop and they told me the camshaft sensor needed replaced. Recently I also replaced the motor band for squeaky noise. I always do the maintenance on time and my car is still picking up 130 out of 160 like nothing.
I got a 2014 350 wagon. Rear airbags failed at 78k Chamshaft adjuster failed at 84k. I have concerns with the transmission now. I cold weather shift from 5to 4 is a little rough. The car has good maintenance records. Transmission service performed. I spent 4k just in one month. I replaced the airbags and performed the basic maintenance. The camshaft adjuster replacement was 2,5k at a professional.
My 14' had shift issues in 4th and 5th, software update fixed this. Places like FCP Euro recommend replacing camshaft sensors every couple years, as they will wick oil into the wire harness and flood the PCM with oil causing failure and harness and PCM both will need replacement. My M276 occasionally has startup noise, dealer tried to fix but with no success. I change oil too often and noise is not as bad, one cause may be the car sits a lot as I am now retired. Car has 142k miles on it, it runs good and strong. Radio did blow an IC chip, had the speaker output power rails (ic chips) replaced in radio. Rain sensor failed, easy fix. Keep motor and transmission mounts fresh to keep down vibrations and noise. Replace belt, idler and tensioner pulleys at the same time. Mercedes is discontinuing a great many parts for these cars, so learn who the OEMs are so when yours fail, you can keep going. I use Delphi for front control arms, Akebono pads, Mann filters, Purflux oil filter, OE Mercedes trans filter, buy extras for Mercedes parts. My friend has 278k on his 2014 and he DIY everything.
My 2010 E350 has yet to have any of these failures. I still only have 86k mileage on the car though. I went ahead and changed the thermostat already due to a intermittent dash warning stating that my radiator coolant is low. It wasn't and reservoir was full.
@@HasinShahadArRafi I did myself. It wasn't hard at all. But if I would have to guess, it would most likely cost around $100-$200 average depending on who you go to (parts pricing varies while labor prices are relatively the same). I would advise you to do it yourself if you're confident enough because it will possibly start doing it again. I live in a very cold state up north so most European cars will start to have electrical issues meaning that you will most likely run into the same problem again in the future.

Great video! 2010 e350 2wd 126k miles. Both traction control warning lights appear, "esc inoperable" displayed on info center and vehicle goes into limp mode. Gonna be fun testing voltage to the various electronic components associated with the esc system...gas pedal, brake switch, angle sensor, yaw control...I will report back.
Sounds like a fiasco. I wish you luck! Traction control lights can pop up for many reasons. If you replaced any wheel bearings, I’d check that. I’d also start at the fuses
Only issue I had with my 2013 E350 was the leather seats ripping and wood panel fading…I love/loved the body style on this model and wasn’t fond of the E350 2014-2015 where the body style seemed smaller and front head lights and grille changed.. It look more like a C-class and was hard to decipher between the two. My E350 was the Sports Sedan special edition so the grille was like the E350 sports coupe..which made it more sporty and resembled/resembles the AMG W12 version..👌👍😊
2013 E350 4Matic purchased as CPO with 20,000 miles. Now has 126,000 miles and the only mechanical issue I’ve had was due to the MBZ ‘high-end’ dealership service department installing the wrong spark plugs at its 100K mileage maintenance. And the imitation leather driver’s seat bottom splitting at the seam. This is a known issue and should’ve required a recall or service notice to replace. Other than that, regular maintenance and cleaning keep the car top notch condition. I’ve done a couple clay bar treatments and rarely, rarely take it through an automated car wash and only to get the undercarriage rinsed off of salt in the winter.
I have a 2014 E350 4matic sedan. It has been a great car. I have 93K miles. They always talk about Lexus being the most reliable car. This model of Mercedes may be the best Mercedes ever made. It would make a great used car buy!
No issues so far with my w212. Just one common issue which has to do with the auxiliary battery. It is located below the steering wheel and if you don’t change it it will start killing the main battery overnight.
I have a 11 w212 and one common issue I had and people in my Facebook group was when it rains hard water gets in the car because of a sunroof drain is clogged a bit ..u would need to pour hot water and use compressed air in the two holes located at the front part of the sunroof....
@@Sirbiznis had that experince after receiving my e350 from a shop that had it for a month to repair a small dent to the roof. Some how they damaged the front windshield seal. Took me a year to realize it wasnt the sunroof. Solution was to use some silicone to reseal it. Let me know if it stop the leak for you
I have a 2014, E-400 and love the car. I am very meticulous with my scheduled maintenance, and have experienced very few unexpected issues. The OEM battery died, as they all eventually will do, but it just ceased functioning this year. I have had one oil leak, and one issue with the MBrace software not updating successfully. To date, that is the only unrepaired item since the functionality of MBrace seems unimportant to me at this point. I was slightly tapped by another vehicle on the rear bumper, poking a small hole, so I had the rear bumper replaced, as well as the front one replaced and the paint touched up at the same time. Otherwise, the exterior and interior are nearly flawless on this 82K mile sedan.
I want to get a E350 for my wife but now im kinda apprehensive in doing so. She loves the premium feel and look but we also NEED the reliability. We are looking at a few that are between 2010-2013 but everyone says run from them 😞
Issues i have encountered: 1) aux battery not working affecting the locking system with the doors over 100k 2) I can not change or shift to driver or R , i have to turn off the car, open and close the door and then start again. 3) some time ago i had total failure of Electricity . nothing worked but the fan was working on full. Ultimately it was resolved by itself. ( extreme cold a factor)
Have a e350 cdi. Issue with replacing High pressure sensor which Than was leaking 16months . Claimed the repairs from Mercedes under their 2year parts warranty.
One problem I had with my 2012 was a computer problem caused by hitting a big pothole on the highway. Another issue was the swivel wheel mount functioning. Lastly, the blower motor failed. After everything was fixed, nothing bad has happened.
I had two metal clanging noises in the interior of my 2014 E350. First was from the middle backseat seatbelt tensioner. It has a plastic housing holding a steel ball beating that will cause the seatbelt to lock in case of a rollover. Problem is the ball bearing bangs against the metal frame of the car. Gotta take a lot out of the car, like the entire backseat and remove the part. Next was a clanging noise caused by a loose screw in a cross beam in the roof. There are RUclips videos to help with both.
I own I 2010 E350 beautiful black on black with grey wood grain AMG steering W , AMG rims , 10 years now , O issues , just auxiliary battery need to be changed . Love my benzo
Does everyone has problems with the front struts? If I hit a pothole the front bottoms out so easy. My Honda civic handled quieter than my w212 sport. Glad to hear your experience! 😁
I have a e350 coupe 40k miles , I feel most future repairs are mostly affordable except the complicated air suspension when it goes out , it’s nuffin wrong with trying to go afta market strut and spring assembly, also only problem I have is my passenger seat is off track due to faulty seat adjuster bracket
I have a 2010 E350 CDi Sport 642.850 engine. Beautiful car and had it for 6 years. She is on 135,000 Miles now and i carry out maintenance on it on regular intervals. i change the oil religiously every 8.000 miles, yes i know that Mercs recommend 12-15000 miles but as soon as you hit 100000 i would recommend doing it earlier. Ive had no turbo issues probably because of the early oil changes. Another common fault with these are the Oil Cooler seals are prone to leaking. This fills up the V with oil and over time this flood of oil will make its way down from the back of the engine onto the DPF which will cause smoke to eminate from underneath the car. The new revised purple colour seals need to be fitted at bottom of Oil Cooler which is at the bottom of V (Big Job). The EGR valve has also been replaced due to leaking coolant from the EGR cooler. Inlet Manifold has been replaced due to warped inner flaps at the same time as Oil Cooler Seals. The Swirl flap motor also has been replaced as the air intake pipe to Turbo red seal was dripping oil onto the the motor which is situated directly under Turbo inlet. This is also a common problem on these. If you want a bit more grunt from this lovely powerplant, get a Stage 1 remap from a proper company, I had it done last month and for a relatively small cost ive now got 275BHP instead of the already impressive 231BHP. All in all what a lovely car to own, i love it! Last bit of advice for you all is to add a good additive to your fuel tank every 6-8000 miles for the DPF. I use Liqui Moly. This will avoid expensive DPF replacements, especially if you are doing regular short mileage trips. My DPF Soot and Ash volume is always very low and this helps keep the DPF in good shape. Good Vid by the way!
I have a 2014 E350 4matic with 97,000 miles. After my last service, my brakes failed. The rear brake lines had corroded and cracked ($2700). The rear suspension was corroded as well. After that repair, the sound system started making loud cracking sounds. The techs were not sure how to fix it. They said to replace the speakers but were not sure if it would work. The next step would be to replace the amp. This car has performed great for me until now. This sound repair would be over $3000 so now I have to wholesale it out. Very sad ending to a great experience. BTW my driver seat ripped at the seems around 40,000 miles and that was replaced.
2014 e350 Sport, 78K miles: Trunk release sensor failed. Replaced the auxiliary battery 3 times. Driver side seat cushion heating element failed. Motor for tilt/telescope steering wheel failed. Engine and transmission mounts need replacing. Engine oil leak. Blown left front door speaker.
Just purchased a 2014 E250 Bluetec sedan. The rear sunshade is askew/off the track on one side. The cable is visible on the side that is off the track. Not sue whether this is repairable or will I need to replace the shade/motor assembly. Is this a common problem in the W212 series?

At 100k the car is running like new - just routine maintenance. The only issue was at about 50k the seat stitching came apart. I've never had a car's seats break open and I've owned some pretty crappy cars. The service people were very unconcerned and told me $650 to stitch it back up - final offer. My experience is that the E350 is a very reliable car but the MB service people are terrible. Find a good independent auto mechanic!
Picked up a four year old 2016 USA E350 in 2019 with 90K on the odometer. It has the 3.5l 276 engine. I changed the transmission fluid immediately after the purchase. Been driving it three years with almost no issue. Had to replace the ignition coil on cylinder number two last week. Total cost was $200, including the scan tool used to diagnose the vehicle. Other than that, maintenance has consisted of changing the oil every six months. Brakes are due for replacement, but there is still plenty of pad left for another five thousand miles or so. The odometer says 112K today. We'll see how it goes. Paid $19,200 for the car and it seems like a good deal.

I think Mercedes Benz gets a bad rap. I don't think it's that people don't take care of their cars. I think it's just that each part has sort of an expiration date where they'll go bad individually in their own individual time. We all know that manufacturers obtain parts from different suppliers and these parts consist of varying degrees of quality. And some brand and model cars have a more or less vicious cycle that you have to put up with. Some of which once the suspect part is replaced, the car will then run as intended. That is until that cycle comes around for the next part to go. Otherwise some will leave you stranded more often than others. I personally received an education in Mercedes Benz and breaking parts. I had a w203 2001 C320. Bought used in 2008. After i purchased it i found out it was an accident car. (Proper homework was not done on my part prior to purchase). I've taken it out of frustration to at least four mechanics for various issues. They can be a strange cars but once you figure your car out, they're no more problematic than a Toyota.
It’s not a cheap car to run or service I’m afraid. How much more than a BMW or Audi? I’d suggest doing some research on costs before buying one 🤔 Mines a 2012 E350 with only 36k miles and is solid as a rock but still has had issues. Rusty brake line. Mercedes UK wanted over £1,200.00 to remove the back axel to fix it, a local MB specialists fixed and repaired it for £240.00. Like for like replacement battery £240.00. SAM engine chip £1,200.00 at a MB specialists, MB UK wanted £2,000.00!!!!! So it’s not cheap to fix on any level 🤔
Have a 2010 w212 e350 with the 3.0 v6 OM642 engine. This car has a weakness at the rear end. Going to have to replace the rear subframe and brake lines at next MOT due to corrosion but to be fair that’s after 13 years and 140k miles so not too bad I guess. Oh and the infamous brake shuddering in front brakes so will probably change the front callipers as they were known to be troublesome on pre-facelift models.
The question is , Does he own one or just an ecochamber. I have had most all Mercedes models and had very few issues. 2001 cl500 and e320 wagon was most problematic.
So what is the consensus? These cars now probably average 110K miles on them now. For those who have not purchased and are looking at one with 100K + miles what advice do long time e350 owners have for them? Are they unreliable trash cars, reliable cars, or reliable when you dump a bunch of money into them for maintenance. What is average cost per incident and how ofte do these incidents occur.
75% of all regular traffic german vehicles are reliable as long as the previous owner was on top of preventative maintenance. But there are a few really expensive repairs such as the brake module failing, and the sensor on the back of the engine like he described. but in comparison to modern mercedes these are amazing

Dang, that's a pain. Perhaps think about ceramic coating them?
@@AutoMotivate im going to have to think of something. Either that or buy a new set of rims smh

So basically very nuisance issues that any car could have? Perfect 😍
How much did all cost ended up?

I have the shifting issue and the temperature valve issue on my 2011 e350 sport. Awesome video dude
I appreciate it, I wish you luck on fixing it 🙏
How did u fix the shifting issue! The whole car shakes during hard acceleration right?
It wasn't and reservoir was full.
i have the same issue, could you tell me how much it would cost to change the thermostat?
@@HasinShahadArRafi I did myself. It wasn't hard at all. But if I would have to guess, it would most likely cost around $100-$200 average depending on who you go to (parts pricing varies while labor prices are relatively the same). I would advise you to do it yourself if you're confident enough because it will possibly start doing it again. I live in a very cold state up north so most European cars will start to have electrical issues meaning that you will most likely run into the same problem again in the future.
I had a 2013 for few years. No issues, but the cabin filter needed to be changed quite often. Great car!

I have the avantgarde which has real leather. Not leatherette
2014 E350 is so reliable! Haven’t had any issues whatsoever. Very reliable

I have two W 212 since 5 years. No problems non so ever. Only oil cooler seals got changed after 100 k miles. Love these cars. Nothing but the best.

Did you do it as preventive or you had an issue you were trying to fix?
Holy crap I thought I was just tripping with the AC smelling musty
I thought I had a wet cat in my car one day😂
2013 E 350,my only problem to date is the oil cooler which I have had to replace at 60,000 miles
Great video explaining reliability issues. Thanks!
No issues so far with my w212. Just one common issue which has to do with the auxiliary battery. It is located below the steering wheel and if you don’t change it it will start killing the main battery overnight.
Mine too
I have a 11 w212 and one common issue I had and people in my Facebook group was when it rains hard water gets in the car because of a sunroof drain is clogged a bit ..u would need to pour hot water and use compressed air in the two holes located at the front part of the sunroof....
Same here. found out the hard way at the carwash, lol
Check your front windshield seal. If it's cracked water will drip from the roof which you would then assume to be due to a damaged sun roof seal.
@@SalmAndrew wow i didnt know that thank you so much
@@Sirbiznis had that experince after receiving my e350 from a shop that had it for a month to repair a small dent to the roof. Some how they damaged the front windshield seal.

Paid $19,200 for the car and it seems like a good deal.

i have a 2012 E350 coupe (rear wheel drive), the engine so noisy. what do i do?
My 2014 E350 4Matic has ripped seats and I fixed the moldy smell by replacing the cabin air filter (70k miles)

You can't simply replace the conductor plate - it has to be coded to the car.
