Obviously it’s Lancaster, not Lancaster. Why would anyone pronounce it like that?
Hey could you do a video on showing someone that has always shot a wrist release for hunting to transition to a back tension style release
It’s Lancaster, short for land caster. I was a USA fly casting gold medal winner, and I spent countless hours casting in grass or parking lots. I used to cast at 60 below zero in the Safeway parking lot in Fairbanks AK in the winter, because my fly line would slide on the snow and ice!
I used to shoot target archery and my release was one that you pushed the trigger to arm and when you relaxed it would fire. I shot leagues and the Redding 3D. Now that was a special shoot. I went to a 3D shoot in the late 1980’s with an instinctive shooter. Bought one raffle ticket and won a Golden Eagle 3D compound and that’s what got me started.
One thing he didnt mention is that when you do train yourself and get better..... you dont need to use the safety button. Then it just becomes a regular hinge realease. Consistency problem solved
I was considering the release for hunting but 100% agree with your view that it’s inherently inconsistent. I shoot much better and will hunt with the ultraview in two finger setup.
I used an earlier version of the Sweet Spot to learn back tension and I agree completely with both pros and cons. My main con was the inconsistent finger pressure. I did find that if I used my back thumb knuckle to release the safety, there was less tension on my thumb. It was great for understanding the mechanics of a hinge release and after a few months of use, I switched to an HBC and I've been using that for the past 10 years.
HBC?

Good review... a while ago I think you said the UV Hinge was coming out with a wrist strap... I have a Sept Elk hunt coming up and would like the wrist strap... thanks
Its definitely Lang-custer. Born in Lancaster General hospital and lived in Lancaster County half my life. I went to Lancaster Archery when their paper and techno hunt ranges were in the pro shop. Long long time ago hahaha.
Lank-ister, I’m from Pa, and that’s how I’ve always heard it here.
Do you find it is very cold even in the hottest setting? I love the release and the idea it just seems so cold to me. I bought one and it's my first hinge, I just feel like i'd shoot it better if it were hotter.
Also, LANcaster.
Might be because you are still trying to punch it? The whole idea is to just keep apply pressure until it pops maybe you want it hotter because you want the ability to force it to fire? Just my thought
your videos don't get as much clout as they deserve. everything is such great quality, and knowledge. keep up the good work
Lancaster, the one that is said in Pa because it is a Pennsylvania Dutch word and pronunciation
You should do a video on how to manipulate/fire a hinge the most consistent way. Like rotating your hand vs relaxing your fingers vs backtension
When I lived in Los Angles, they called in Lan-caster. Im from Ohio, where everyone says Lanc-aster. My brain hurts just thinking about it.
I live in PA. People from the Lancaster area pronounce it Lan-kister and will correct you on it. But most people in PA pronounce it Lan-caster.
I'd like to hunt with a hinge style release, I wonder if you've had any bad experience with the 'click' or the shot process during hunting with this style of release. Thanks!!!
Lancaster near my hometown in Ontario and we said it Lang-caster.
U just thru more gas on the fire with that one
I live in ohio we have Lancaster here as well it just depends on who u ask I always say lan caster but I hear ppl that live there an ppl who dont say lanc aster all the time as well really just a preference thing bet u can figure out how to say coshocton where I live lol
Has this been the one you’ve used in some recent vids that dropped instead of the ultra view? I saw it and noticed it looks like a hinge with a safety and was very interested and intrigued although i would have to re-sight in everything since im using the Nock2It and Silverback and they group almost identical. So this would still be considered a back tension release and not a true hinge style release? where you can manipulate the moons and sears and get away with less tension doing so
Also good choices for release under 100 or just touch over so out door at 120ish
I love true ball but can I make a suggestion, dont mess with the trigger. When I got mine I was like let me adjust this bad boy I wanted to make it nice and light. I fired it 3 times I was loving it nice light it was working great and then on the fourth shot I pulled it back i was shooting 70lbs as I was drawing it went off and I hit myself right in the jaw almost nicked myself out. No lie.
I was in Disney last year , asked a guy where he from he said lancister PA ( Lancaster) just the way he said it I new he Truley was
I was thinking about getting a hinge release so thank you Chris! Keep up the hard work! Edit: I saw the price and man is it expensive
Thanks cris for the advice
Lan- Caster PA Lankasster, SC
You are my new favorite channel on youtube. Videos are awesome. What camera do you use?
Thoughts on Nock On's Silverback series?
Thanks for doing these reviews they help a lot
I’m from the area. The second way you say it is right.
LAN- caster is how its said in So Cal when referring to Lancaster CA.
Have the city of Lancaster here in Texas and it’s definitely lan-caster lol
Liked the video. Also I love the hinge that Ultra view sells
What release do you recommend for hunting?
Love the way you opened the box😂😂
Thank you for the video it really helped, I'm new to this style of releases
It’s the second Chris. My dad’s family is from Pennsylvania and it’s not said Lan-cast-er. Also, people from Pennsylvania don’t say Pennsylvania, it’s PA. FYI
You did a review on this release and on the TRU Ball Goat, how would you compare them? How good do you think the hinge mode is on the Goat and how good is the Thumb button release?
Certainly would not hunt with it , with that metallic click taking the safety off.
Really wanted the HT for some time , Great Review Bud .
NEVER say "lan-caster" in lancaster. They will straight send you for hanging. Its "lank-iss-ter. Say lan then kissed her.
Lan-caster! Of course😁
We have Lancaster, CA here in the US, which sounds more like a Fender guitar model.
As someone who lives in Lancaster Ohio, we can't even agree and we live in a town named Lane-caster....Lan-caster.....it is what it is.
Just getting into archery
Huge gun guy so I use a trigger release and after 20 years of trigger control muscle memory I learn it don’t mean shit with bow I’m supposed be pulling back to engage the releases so…..
I need video that explains everything about releases that’s not a trigger idk difference between hinge and thumb back pressure don’t have clue
Any helpful information video would be appreciated
So I’m a 28-29’ draw length I’ve recently been tuning my bear cruz 70 lb at 30 . At 30 i have to shoot with an open palm and loose grip which is fine I’m wondering is it worth it to shoot at 30 draw length.
Can the release be seen as a thumb trigger?
Great video man, keep up the great work. Lan-cast-er. Like the unboxing's.
What is the best arrows to get when you are just starting
can you give us a video of your hunting arrow you will be using this season or a build video?
I'm British, so I deal with this all the time. It's reached it's climax because I'm from England, and my with is from Birmingham, AL. So, of course, she calls it "Birming-HAM", and I call it "Briming-um". LOL
I’m in pa and it’s Lancaster like bait caster
I actually bought this exact release this week. Its my first hinge. You should do a video where you shoot with it.
I'll buy that as a back up to my sweet spot pro...curious to see the difference between standard and the flex
The adjustment on the finger
Hey Chris, enjoying your videos! Can you do a video for a first time compund bow buyer, have been shooting a recurve and wanna get my first compound for an adult
Do you give any out to people interested in hinge that shoot thumb style and can't afford to dish out 200$ for a release they don't know they will like
Hey chris quick question. Is there anywhere i can find the black ultraview scope still? Think you said they were a limited run and ive been looking everywhere to get one for the vxr!
I’m from Lancaster , anyone from Lancaster or the sarounding areas , call it lancister ( trying to spell the way we say ) but anyone eles in PA and the country not living near Lancaster calls it Lancaster
I'm in my 40s , whats the back tension release ? Is this still good to buy
What is the gap for release on the moon
LAN-cast-er is the name of a city in my state. That’s how everyone says it here.
You from pa?
Robert Bostian . Ca
Lived in pa all my life and its LAN- caster not lang-aster
In from Lan-caster oh
wisconsin
Hi Chris your exactly 100% on about this product review! Yes it is a great entry level release, but like you said too many variables, and moving parts for consistency. There is just too much going on just to do it’s original job. But it’s good just to get the idea of what it’s like to shoot that style of release!
Dude no way I have a the same realeade it’s great for hunting hope you have fun
Chris you should do a signed release and or bow giveaway for subscribers.
Love the vids. From Ma and everyone I know says Lancaster. Keep up the great vids🙏🏻
I personally don’t like this release just because it allows you to rotate your hand more or less before you hit the safety and can throw off your shot timing because you could be over extended when you do take off the safety
Oh, that's so simple it's Lanc AH ster lol, but I'm from the UK and we love the long AAAA lol (just joking, I hope you realise).
what do you mean when you say rotate?
Lancaster,!!! I was born in Lancashire England 🙂 Keep up the vids Chris
What’s up with the box toss 😂
Are hinge releases back tension? I want to try a thumb button one what do you recommend?
You are saying it correctly, because you are a true Michigander, haha! Maybe we are wrong.....
hi love your videos great effort very informative. Q, i like the Mathews VXR 31.5 a lot was wandering is there anything at all that would stop a person from using it for just indoor\outdoor\3D target archery? i know that its a hunting bow but i like it a lot. also i have a 29.6 draw length would that work with the bow??
Lain-caster (North Carolina’s input)
Would you recommend getting this or the ultraview first?
This release has a safety for beginners using a hinge that don’t know how to draw using one without a safety but still wanna use backtension to shoot I would recommend this one but you have to learn how to draw using a backtension somehow.
When will the UltraView hunting cartridge be back in stock
@0:24 it's the second one. LAIN-kus-ter.
Love my HBc
I shoot a hook type thinking about going to back tension would I have to extend my D loop
Ok, I’m confused... Is this a back tension or hinge?? I’m pretty sure it’s a hinge, but you’re the expert. Can you PLEASE explain both?!?!?
It is the same thing, diff names
Doesn’t a release like a Silverback work off true back tension and no rotation having to set it off of poundage? Where as a hinge isn’t set off of poundage?
@@RichSias those are considered RESISTANCE releases and are fired by pulling through the shot once the thumb safety is released. Poundage is set by the shooter at what they fire at.
you did not say anything abut the flex part of the rrlease
All of us in UK smiling at your pronunciation of Lancaster 😁 nice video as usual Chris.
And we in the US are smiling at your pronunciation of Aluminum. 😄
In case it helps: in Germany we call it Länkästa. Ä is somehow pronouced like the a in „and“
Can you do a budget release video on the tru ball max 3 hunter +
So my mom was trying to get me some beerealmerch and it keeps saying there is an error shipping to our address have you been having issues with your website lately?
You gotta say it in between Lancaster and Lancaster. You almost got it.
This release is a great release
NY here. We say Lan-Caster. I've heard Pennsylvanians say Lank-aster.
Pennsylvania way is correct to me since I'm from PA
Love ur vids!!
It’s (Lang) caster
Own you upload this video after I bought abbys flex are you sears???
It’s Lnkester
It’s pronounced that way because of the strong German/Amish accents common in the area
Chris bee Ik u have the money lol you should do a review of the accu bow and the game on your phone or the app ig
I've been shooting archery, hunting and competition for 35+ years and no way is this a release for only beginners.
Sadly my bow is getting fixed and won’t be done for around 3 weeks 😢😢😢
Lancaster native and frequenter of Lancaster Archery - you’ve been pronouncing it wrong for awhile! Almost everybody does though, so don’t sweat it! There are several other Lancasters in the world (Ohio, Texas, California, England), and the other ones are all pronounced the way you’ve been saying it. The one in PA is the oddball.
Seems like a good idea on paper but I don't think they are worth the 240$ price tag. I don't think I'd give up my back tention I currently use for anything.
What do you use for your back tension release?
Switch back and forth between a Scott long horn and a tru ball I think is what my other one is. The tru ball is thumb button
@@joeyfarkasofsky7607 ..TY! So essentially you "train" with the longhorn and hunt with the thumb button....correct?
@lanetaglio yea well i used to back when I would bow hunt
When I could get that tool
Awesome bro, hope to make it one day on RUclips as you do! You inspired me to make my channel!
We have a city named Lancaster here in Texas and we all say lane-cuss-ter
Are u going to utah for tac this year
wonder how much it actually cost to manufacture these releases.
I hear you're headed over to the driftless.
Are you going to the TAC CHALLENGE
