    Epic POV!
    What I love about the panning shot is you don't need a low aperture i.e expensive lens to do it. It's all about the timing of the shot. Dialing in that shutter speed to suit. After 100's of shot's your doing well to get a handful of great shots!

      No. I have attempted to. One of my courses in college has this as one of our assignments. My question is once you have the object in the lens is just follow the object as the multi-shot does the job right? And, what lens is best to do this job?

    • @HalsallGYN
      @HalsallGYN 2 месяца назад

      I have a question… why do you need to do panning if we can just create the effect in photoshop? Seems easier to set a fast shutter speed to get the object in focus and then edit the background after no?

    The silver Porsche is a Cayman GTS. From the side, you can always tell a Cayman by the shape of the window. Caymans have that big sweep up at the back - on a 911 the sill line continues all the way until it meets the roof line at a point.

    If you're gonna go through the trouble of taking panning shots only to add motion blur in editing, might as well just take a single shot at high shutter speeds, say 1000 for a tack sharp subject and then add the blur later in Photoshop.

    Really enjoyed this, I have my first car photoshoot coming up soon with a mates BMW M4, I want to do the car justice and include some panning shots, using a Fujifilm X-T3 and Viltrox 85 f/1.8.
    I know for side on panning shots I am going to need a wider lens, especially for some of the narrower roads near where he is, would you recommend 23mm f/1.4 or 35mm f/1.4? Bare in mind it is crop sensor... Can only really afford one or the other at the moment.

    Hi Curtis, thank you for the video, but I have one question if you don't mind... How do you actually shoot? You see a car coming on your left, you point the AF centre point, half press the shutter to achieve focus and start panning and shooting until the car is on your right and hopefully one of the photos is good... Is that it? Or, can you just half-press the shutter to achieve focus and only shoot when the car is in front of you? Thank you so much
