The Softail series has always been a fan favorite amongst the American cruiser motorcycling enthusiasts. Ever since the launch of the Harley-Davidson Softail Standard a few years back, it managed to bring forward the soulful character of the brand, which many of the previous monikers have missed out on. Coming with the same Milwaukee-Eight V-twin motor mated to the 6-speed gearbox and a belt-drive drivetrain, the Softail Standard is back in the 2022 avatar.
The Softail Standard comes with no major changes to the mechanicals, in comparison to the outgoing 2021 model. Design and features also see no changes. The beautifully crafted exterior with chrome and blacked-out elements, quintessential American cruiser design language, and the sweet sound of the V-twin motor remains unaltered too. Coming at a base MSRP of $13,599, the 2022 Softail Standard is here to compete with the likes of the Triumph Bonneville Bobber and the Harley-Davidson Street Bob.

I have a 2023. Love it.
Disagree with the brakes, you can lock up the front with 2 fingers if you wanted to, most people dont need light and twitchy brakes, its not a sport bike. and the rear brakes on these bikes are for dragging at low speed, like those cops weaving through cones at competitions. not for stopping the bike, use both brakes when stopping.
Just bought the 23. I LOVE this bike!
I looked at a 2008 street glide with 50000 miles. They wanted 14000. I'll buy this instead
I've recently bought a 2023 softail standard and haven't had any problems braking ,the front brake stopped me fast . The rear brake is abs,but it only has 49 miles on her, So I'm think once she's broken in she'll stop faster. I like her just haven't been able to ride her cause of the winter. I really like this bike it's awesome riding her
I don’t think anyone is buying a Harley for its top of the line tech features anyway. I’m a big fan of keeping it simple. I don’t want more electronics to inevitably quit working.

Added a step up seat and windshield. All set!
I just test rode one of these. It looks super cool, but the brakes are terrible and the riding position is brutal. I rode it for 25 minutes and when I got off of it immediately noticed that my back was sore. I will say though it's fast, but the brakes are straight up dangerously bad.
Mine stops on a dime.
