I'm a Connie Taurus fan. I feel ilke it's big, but I can still imagine it being solo flown in the lore. I like that it can do a few different game loops, making it more like the hero ship from various sci-fi shows (Millenium Falcon, Serenity, Rocinante, etc). If my character is a protagonist in the Star Citizen story, then I imagine his ship is the Taurus.
I love the Valkyrie too, if just needs an HP and weapon buff as it’s a military drop ship and should be highly tanks and able to withstand a lot of firepower while landing troops in combat. Currently it’s not balanced. Also love the X wing Scorpius.
I hope so much the Valk. will get Modularity and get a rework (which is badly needed). Would be my Daily driver IF i could switch the 20 Jumpseats and replace it with something else - or nothing for more (cargo) space. It looks sick, but need more firepower for the Pilot :s
@@404inc Yep, needs armour and to be highly defensively powerful (it’s meant to withstanding landing in combat zones under fire, not that you’d know it), and yes a military ship should have size up pilot weapons and turrets. Right now a Cutty Black packs more pilot firepower by a long way, which makes no real sense to me. They should make both turrets virtual and free up that space to add in suit lockers, weapon racks and a T3 medical bed behind the drop seats. I don’t even need an official cargo hold, but I’d just like to see the space much better utilised than it currently is. A beautiful ship in need of a rework for sure.
If anything, a drop ship shouldn’t have pilot controlled weapons, or at most a single S4 or S5 under the nose and a solid missile compliment for upfront / line breaking damage. It’s a drop shop, not a ground attack ship. Every time we power creep pilot dps on ships that are meant to do X task, we undermine actual combat ships. I do support the turrets converting to remote turrets (with option to slave them to a single gunner, which all remotes should have). If the Valk is buffed on its weapons, what’s the point of a Harb or any other fighter bomber? Instead, I’d like to see it get an oversized shield (it should be a brick) and ofc a raw hp/armor buff. Good drop ships reach the ground. It might get popped before it can take off again, but it must reach the ground and unload.

As is the notion it 'should' be far more poorly defended than the average light fighter, even though it's a pure military ship and handles sluggishly due to size etc. While I see where you're coming from, either the likes of the Valkyrie need AI blades for the turrets, or they need to beef up pilot offensive capabilties because right now you'd be far, far, far better off using a Cutlass Black in terms of firepower on all levels over the Valkyrie. Make that make sense if you can.

If you’re worried about it being brought down by fighters on the way in… then take some lazy gits out of the back and put them in snub fighters. No one ship is the do everything ship. It can’t transport a platoon, their ground vehicles, provide light air support, be a superiority fighter, and be a ground attack bomber. Give it a size larger shield than anything else in its class, tell two of the grunts in the back to stop being lazy and man a turret, and make it to the deck safe. If you want a big pilot armament for yourself, go get in a F7C Mk II or a Vanguard Harbi, depending on if you wanna be better at hitting air or ground targets. The vast majority of multicrew ships are already over gunned in the pilot position, and should have their guns swapped between pilot and turret (the Connie and Corsair are great examples). But, all of this is largely moot until they finally add flak as an option to turrets. “We want WWII in space but in 12 years we’ve never added WWII’s primary anti air weapon” has become a bit.. stale. All ships bigger than fighters will continue to be situational at best until that fundamental tool is in the game. I’m all for nerfing the Steel’s pilot guns into the ground as well, just btw. Again, swap pilot and turret on most ships. Make losing the turret in a variant matter.

I use my F8c the same way you use yours for anything that doesn't involve cargo . Great range and good Quantum speed , doesn't hurt that it packs a wicked punch either . Lotta fun in AC with it .
@@clickbaker1 In-game event finding a golden ticket and $250 cash . I still have a spare ticket if you want to spend the money to get the ship . Even with the ticket you might have to wait till it goes on sale again .. IAE will probably be when it's available .
I really like that you can smoothly fly in and out of the side doors of the Valkyrie with hovercraft. I usually park one of them directly at one of the doors. You can even open the door from the craft (X1/Pulse) and don't have to exit the seat.
I just added the Valkyrie to my hangar recently and have been using it as a daily for about a week now. I love it and it easily makes my top favorite ships.
Freelancer MIS is my personal favorite ship and i nearly had them all. (Except 890 jump) It has enough cargo for ERT goodies. With 3x S2 schields, 4x M5A cannons, 20x Thunderbolt3 and 32x Taskforce1 rockets you blast your way through ERT’s with your speed advantage and are also fast enough to counter smaller fighters. You can smack it down on nearly every terrain without worrying about not getting back onto your ramp thanks to the side ladder. The side ladder closes immediatly when you enter and you are in your seat in no time. These things just make it stand out imo.
My favourite ship is the redeemer. It’s 2 size 3 shields really make it idiot proof. Plus anytime someone from my org wants a ride I’m able to give them a turret with 2 size 5 guns 💪 Plus it comes stocked with enough food and water to supply you and all your friends.
I had my 5 minutes and bought a RSI Scorpius for 240$ or something around that. I dont regret it. Knowing the insurance for ships is inactive until the game releases, i will own this Ship for the rest of my Life😂
I had a red alert scorpius but ended up melting it cause everytime I flew it I just wanted to fly the hurricane instead. I wanted to get a valk, but the dropship tax is just stupido high, so I got an andromeda instead as my daily driver, 33% cheaper, while also tanky, good pilot dps, can carry a vehicle, room for friends.. yea.. I also had an F8C but I really didn't like it ended up melting it, prefered flying my F7C-M Super hornet, until the F7A Mk2 came along with digital camo, my god that's hot.
i been using a valk but honestly for bunkers compact is better C8R beats valk+medivac ursa (i got one of those too) if you wanna respawn both options are good the cutlsass red mught be useful too depends how they go with the T beds and how respawns could be limited by a reload function meaning you have to install a bio-cart to clone a new body and that can take 15 mins atfer installing a new bio-cart this is how you get around spawn cycling too fast so people can complain about griefing bascially you can spawn 2x per T3 bed and maybe 4X per T2 and 8x per T1 and they have to be manually reloaded to set off the update timer for respawns. it's a fair way to do this maybe also allow for upgrading medical beds later with faster more effective ones?
I've been flying the f7a since I nearly died of aneurysms getting frustrated with stupid bugs, asshole players and unstable servers trying to beat the overdrive garbage. I basically use it the same way you use the f8c, I use the f7 over the f8 due to the f8 not quite having the nose authority the f7 does. I wish they'd come out with some cool camo paint for the f8 though, I'm a sucker for a good camo. On a slightly related topic, that stinger paint on your scorpius looks dope. Idk how it was originally gotten in game but i found it for sale on impound awhile back and got it, i always have it on.
The thrust vectoring/launch phase of some ships is so un-immersive. The thrusters would be swivelling all over the place, and without wings, they’d have to face down for quite a lot of the flight. For the time this game has been in development, I would have thought atmospheric flight would be better modelled.
In fairness...from memory the Millennium Falcon flew like a turd. It was the "fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy"...it was a piece of shit smugglers ship...just got the job done
Afaik it has a 30 SCU cargo grid and the same quantum range capacity as say a Cutlass. Regarding hydrogen fuel, it has at least double the capacity as a Cutlass. I like the Valk myself, but it needs some CIG love, but it isn’t the only ship that needs that. I feel it needs an armor upgrade, like they gave the Cutlass Steel recently. Maybe slave the two wing tip guns to the pilot and she’ll be good. Cheers o7

If you jump the ladder and open all doors you can get out of the valk fast.

Actually all freelancers are very good in 3.23. Also the Misc Reliant Kore and Tana are great ships.

At this point it's the vulture. It's a good bunker runner, adds salvage to any mission that might feature an abandoned ship and has some good paints
Low level bounties in a vulture is my favorite solo gameplay. If you don't loose a fork prong you get to eat them after.

mines 400i for looks, defender for convenience with fast quantum, 325a for quantum, redeemer for shields
