The things that fascinates me about ships is the complex technic behind them and the size we build them. I work in railways for 30 years and every time someone comes with "I have a easy solution" I have to laugh about it, it's a more complex system then most people can imagine.
@@andreaslermen2008 it's very complex! And people are great at building and inventions! I love seeing the innovation of ships over time, as well! Cheers!
Hey, you might be interested in the story of the Tanker Pendleton. Nearly unbelievable story, and is even considered to be one the greatest sea rescue in maritime history!
Liked it. The Mv Tonberg comes to Tacoma Wa. When she is at the dock she is the skyline. Very impressive. One of the roro had a fire and the crew couldn’t abandon ship thru the mooring deck and jumped 90’ from the main deck in survival suits. 20 jumped 16 hurt badly. Typically 30’ is about max for jumping in survival suits. See you Sunday.
@@thereissomecoolstuff jeez! I am so glad it was only injuries and not deaths. That would be horrifying to jump from that height knowing you'd be really hurt but hopefully alive. Thank you so much, my friend! See you Sunday!
Maybe im missing something: you said the MV Color Magic was the largest but is an honorable mention. But also said that the Tønsberg is the largest. Very confused here. Could be something very obvious but its not clicking. Gonna go to RoRo variants video to see if something clicks. Still.... All those look like so much fun to be on! Another banger Elinor!
Interesting video. I have to agree with what another viewer said, the century green by K line stands out to me for some reason, but the last one is impressive 😊 I can't help but think if maybe the ferries had a little deeper draft, and maybe a little more ballast if it would make them a little more stable & improve safety! The biggest problem with safety of ferries is overcrowding, but then cutting back on passengers also cuts back on revenue. Some companies are more concerned with the almighty dollar than safety! BTW: lorries and trucks are the same thing 😂😂 The UK calls trucks lorries. 😊
@@Chevyman02 thank you for that correction! I had no idea that's what they called lorries! 😂 It took me forever to know that a buggy is the same thing as a shopping cart 😭😂 I think if all ships had a better air and water draft, they'd be more stable. Something with modern ships being so high up out of the water has always made me nervous! Overcrowding is such a dangerous issue, both stability wise and health wise in terms of disease. You're spot on with that! Good to see you again! Thanks for watching!
@@shipwrecksunday I was looking at those ferries in your video, they sit so high up. 24 to 25 foot draft is less than the Titanic had. Of course stability wasn't the issue with the Titanic, & it wasn't a RORO ferry.
That Century Highway Green is really cool, actually! I love when engineers attempt to innovate

@@shipwrecksunday The irony was they didn’t have to jump. The fire was well below the main deck. They panicked.
Wow big n tall ships 👍🇺🇸
Very large ships!
What about you do the largest car ferries vessels like the Stena Brittanica
