Smaller ships and less people to me are by far much enjoyable. This ship is just toooooooooooooo much. I love people and getting to know the crew, that means alot to me. I'm 65 and i love being at sea and dressing up ( Captain's night). God bless you all.
I did Haromny out of Miami, first cruise, 6000 people, 2500 crew, most of the time I kept asking where is everybody? The only time we saw a crowd was when we were going into the shows, even then it took only minutes to get in and get a seat. Still amazes me to this day how so few people we saw. Boarding and disembarkation was literally walk on and off, very little queuing. Being a lover of the sea and ships, the one thing i was dissappointed with was it looked more like a block of flats than a ship, so you never really got the feeling of being on board a ship.
@@MrTrucktortrailermanYou're going to trust one person's opinion? Not all ships are equal. Some have more space per person than others. Some of the smaller ships may carry less people, which sounds more intimate, however, they may actually have less space (sq footage) per person. There is a great RUclips blog that talks about this, I wish I could have found it to add here.

Great video - lots of detailed info. Was just on S of S March 2024 and she was amazing... food options, various bars, many workers are all awesome! Never once did we feel overwhelmed by how many passengers were on board or on a certain deck. Moved around freely most of the time and enjoyed everything the ship had to offer!
I went on a cruise on Harmony of the Sea in October. I loved everything about the trip. Nothing negative. Anxiously awaiting my next cruise. . The crew were outstanding. The food absolutely the best. Love , Love , Love. And I an older lady of 76.
As a land-based creature, I will never understand how another land-based creature can be comfortable, anxiety-free, or able to truly rest easy on a floating vessel without any solid ground for dozens, if not hundreds of miles.
Going out on a boat isnt the thing that would bother me. Going on a boat that is too dang big and loaded with over 6,000 people all in a small confined area would bother me the most
That’s just how Russians are. Several decades of Soviet-style communism and now Putin’s ruthless autocracy have dehumanized them. Look at how they treat Ukraine. I spent three weeks in Russia several years ago as a tourist and I have never met such jaw-droppingly rude people in the whole of my life. The many horror stories I could tell you would curl your hair. I hated that country so much that I never want to set foot there again.
Mind blowing what it takes to facilitate these cruises BUT .... I'm with you...last comment. The thought of being trapped on a ship with 6 thousand people, is NOT my idea of relaxing 😳 Give me a cabin in the woods 😌
Damn right at least there I know to bring my best friend Heckler & Koch (I know weird name he's German). Yup he's .40 and has 12 little kids with him. God I love that guy!
I've cruised a few times, and I still found this video amazing! I gather that the original video was narrated in Russian, and you've done an excellent job in overdubbing it in English.
I've been on Symphony of the Seas as well as the new Wonder of The Seas, Oasis of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas. The Oasis class ships are just amazing. I have never felt overwhelmed except during high-lunch times if going to buffets. I don't use the pools, instead I just spend my time relaxing by drinking, walking, seeing shows and taking my time. There are plenty of areas to find solace, the ships are so huge you don't realize there are thousands (except during launch/end day). I enjoy city life, so these ships bring that level of familiarity on my trips. Don't get me wrong, you wont get the same level of personal service as you do on a smaller ship or a luxury cruise, but if you want to experience what it might be like going on a intergalactic cruise of the future, these ships are it!
@@MissX905 I just save for one trip per year and go during off season. Usually costs me around $2000 in total with all costs. I get interior cabins which saves me a lot unless I get a deal for a balcony.
Way too large for me. In 2022 we took at Viking cruise from Sweden around the Baltic to Denmark, Poland, Germany and Norway. The ship had seven hundred passengers on it, not seven thousand! And once you sail on Viking you can't go back.... no kids, no casinos, no fees to eat in special restaurants, no art shows, no roaring tunes by the pool, it was lovely.
What do you mean by, "you can't go back"?? Also, are kids not allowed? No casinos?? No art shows, or poolside music?? Why not?? SHEESH--my dad's pontoon seems more fun than the viking!🤷 That sounds like a cruise ship nursing home-- no casinos, but there bingo every night!😅 Yeeeeaaaahhh, that cruise ship seems to be equipped FOR, "the faint at heart" 🥱 🥱 🥱 WITH THAT BEING SAID: I THINK I have the answers to my previous questions... (1st question)- u can't go back, ("meaning "home,") maybe bc your kids didn't want the responsibility of taking care of you- (Questions 2-5) Bc, kids are a different kind of "special" these days. OR MAYBE, it is bc kids in today's society, ARE EXTREMELY disobedient towards some adult human beings they(kids)... With THAT being SAID, I blame the parents! "No casinos"- PROBABLY BC THEY REPLACED THOSE, FOR BINGO! "No fees to eat in special restaurants" I'm sure that most likely, the chefs cook accordingly, bc there's so many,(elderly with pre-existing ailments), therefore strict diets are mandatory, YET, I doubt that there's ANYONE in the entire earth, that will turn down free food! "No art shows, and no roaring tunes by the pool"- first off all, the roaring tunes comment, is HE-LARRYUS!!😂 Maybe, there's no art shows, bc the captain or whomever is, in charge of the activities upon the ship chose wisely in making sure that everyone is given their own free will, to participate when and where, the activity of their choice, feels calm, peaceful, and comfortable-- but most of all, that each and every individual onboard the cruise ship, experiences plenty of JOY, LAUGHTER, AND FUN!!❤ LASTLY,"NO ROARING TUNES by the pool" I'm almost 5000% SURE, that there's no weird music playing while ppl are trying to actually enjoy their time in the pool, to strengthen parts of the body that somehow SEEM to have gone on an everlasting lunch break OR retirement bc EVERY MUSCLE, LIGAMENTS, TENDONS,AND OF COURSE YOUR BONES, which can be EXTREMELY stubborn at times!!, so much so, that when the pain flares up, and ("on a scale of 1-10, how would you describe the amount of pain your experiencing right at this moment?")becomes extremely unbearable, THEN, your primary care Dr prescribes you anywhere between 8-12 of the WEAKEST pain meds on the MARKET!!!???!!! Thank you for a wonderful tour of Icon! My younger brother, his daughter and I were on the Inaugural Sailing of Icon back in January and had an absolutely amazing time. Seeing your video just makes me want to get on board all over again as 7 days was simply not enough time to see and do everything that beautiful ship has to offer. I know Icon isn't for everyone, but it certainly is a ship worth checking out if you love to cruise in style!
It looked like a scifi movie of a crowded dystopian human processing factory. Nothing enjoyable, just engines, washing dishes and sheets, and the computers they use to operate the ship. That's nice, esp for technically minded folks, but the US offers no "5th-grade physics classes! 12th grade for kids who complete 3+ years of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus (simultaneously w/physics) and biology, chemistry. My engineer ex would like this but even he would love to see the plates of food passengers would be served more than workers removing lobster shells. Was this doc made for executives at the cruise line to learn their side of the cruising experience? Ice skating instead of swimming pools was a bizarre touch--perhaps what Russians might do on a cruise, but def not where others would spend their time at sea! They go on cruises ton escape snow and ice. Swimming pools, sunbathing, eating, maybe a scuba diving adventure, perhaps dinner, drinks and dancing in the evening, and a stroll around the decks in the moonlight? Things they can't do back in Minnesota or Wisconsin in February...
One giant petrie dish for Covid and Gastro outbreaks. I see the cruise lines have abandoned their no buffet rule. So it's only a matter of time. NZ just banned a Carnival cruise ship from entering any NZ port because of the buffet back down. They had 20 cases in isolation after only three days out from Australia.
Oh no not Covid! Get over it dude it was all bullshit. Make sure you go get another booster or three though.. our collective lives depend on you doing so..
Except we saw only men washing dishes, shelling lobster, not a single shot of a plate served to a passenger, or people enjoying the sun poolside, having a drink in a lounge, enjoying the ocean and sunshine!! It was only workers and kitchens, engine rooms, launbdries, etc! I saw nothingt that a passenger on a cruise on this ship would actually enjoy. They mentioned the gym but failed to show any shot of it. Same for ports--we saw a dock, but never why we'd love to visit that town, city, or country. Like they were trying to attract buyers or workers, not passengers. WEIRD.
The tonnage the author mentioned is actually gross tonnage. It is a measurement of enclosed volume rather than displacement. The displacement of the ship is actually about half of that number, close to 100000 metric tons.
@@JillJaehne You can be in your own area in a cruise. Don’t always have to be at the buffet. I like a variety in life. Alone times and around people but with my own private spaces wherever I go. First class suites are appreciated in cruise’s. But if you can’t afford that’s your life. Ha ha
If you watch various cruise review channels, the main problem with huge ships like this (whether or not you like the idea of being in a floating hotel/mall/amusement park with thousands of other people) is that you have to reserve ahead for meals and shows or get on line and wait, or risk missing out. And embarking/disembarking is also slow because of all the people. That does not sound relaxing or fun.
I went on a cruise as a young teen and more than half the shiit you said is a lie....and it was carnival cruise which isn't known as the best to say the least😂😂 didn't have to make reservations for food, everything was on a timed schedule and we didn't have to wait in lines to get into anywhere or to do anything.
@@BigZoe99 I was on a Carnival Cruise and they had several restaurants. One of them was a self serve cafeteria so there was very little waiting. The food wasn’t gourmet but wasn’t bad considering it was included in the reasonable price I paid for the cruise.
Exactly! It's a mid-range hotel wrapped around a shopping mall with an amusement park on the roof... and several thousand people trying to squeeze into ten hot tubs. And then you disembark with 15K other tourists and try to squeeze into souvenir shop and grab a fast food meal of "authentic" local cuisine before you have to get back onboard. But I suppose if that's one's thing, go for it. I do wonder what the food is like but with that many people to feed, I doubt they do much better than Applebee's or TGIFridays.
We love Alexey Vershinin ever since we first saw him on Largest Offshore Oil Platform. He really connects with his audience and brings his enthusiasm front and center. More Alexey Please....
This is straight out of H.G. Wells's Time Machine, in which there are two classes of people. "The Eloi live a banal life of ease on the surface while the Morlocks live underground, tending machinery and providing food, clothing, and inventory for the Eloi."
Thanks to Russian journalist Vershinin Aleksey and his team for bringing us on a super interesting visit of Royal Caribbean's giant of a ship and all the places traveler's don't see like the helm, kitchens, mechanical rooms, etc. fascinating! The only thing I don't agree with is saying staff are well paid, quite the contrary, they often work 12 hour days, 6 days a week and share windowless rooms on the bottom of the ship.
We never saw a single shot of where passengers will spend their 3 to 5 days or whatever. Thousands of passengers and not a room, much less the chance to compare the classes, only one empty ordering tablet in a bar--no lounge with a view. This could have been a skanky old hotel in Vegas because passengers never see laundries, water distilleries, engines... Where were the reasons we'd want to be there?
Having not crewed on one of these ships I can't comment with experience, but there are compensations to all this. Some passenger-facing crew receive "tips." These include servers/waitstaff in the dining rooms (not the cafeterias though), and the stewards who see to maintaining passenger cabins. All of the crew receive food and accommodation as part of their compensation -- in other words, they eat and sleep for free, unlike the passengers. Most of the crew are from countries where people are not paid as well as people in Western countries. Yes, they have to work hard and don't get much experience of the places they sail to, but consider other occupations where this is also the case. Most of the crew on US Navy aircraft carriers, for instance, almost never go out on deck, and live in similar, perhaps even less comfortable conditions. And unlike the Navy, cruise workers do have limited recreation facilities for their own use, out of sight of the passengers. I've cruised several times, and in conversations with many cruise workers I found that most of them had been working on these ships for years -- if they were mistreated or too poorly paid, they obviously wouldn't continue to do this work. They are not slaves.
I've just embarked from Sympathy of the Seas! She is amazing! Thank you for all the ships facts and look through the parts passengers don't visit! She also docks at Ft. Lauderdale.
Excellent story, high information density, every second interesting. I imagine the worst part of a cruise is 10,000 people disembarking in a tiny Caribbean port. Maybe better to just stay onboard.
Amazing job, beautiful and well detailed video, thanks and i truly appreciate. Out of curiosity, You showed us the recycling cans and Glass bottles and glasses, what about the toilets where do they empty to? And the waste foods, and the dirty water after washing the utensils.... washing/laundry, bathroom water, etc
Amazing, jaw dropping monster! Amazing logistic management too, plus the scale of work, how everything is produced, done and contrrollod in the ship. I m from 🇫🇮, and was still amazed the level of engineering ot takes to manufactire the ship with hundreds of thousand elements! Few days ago the newest cruiser for Caribia from Meyer dockyards in Turku, Finland. That ship is even bigger and more fine tubed than any cruiser before. The cost of manufacturing was over 1billion dollars! Does this make sense to build this huge, moving entertainment centers? Well, maybe not, but the demand is there. So... Bigs get bigger.
@@charliechristie2949 Dear Friend: No, sorry, "controlled" and "manufacture" are the correct spellings. And it's "it takes", not "ot takes". Sorry to nitpick, too. I just see our language deteriorating and it's such a beautiful language. I know cell phone abbreviations have a lot to do with it. Languages do change over time, but we seem to just be discarding all the rules now. No offense meant, but I think we do need to call it out. I've seen sentences of 5 words with 2 of them misspelled. Do we really want to lose the knowledge we've gained? - we even had "Spelling bees"! I agree with you about the ship being a huge, moving entertainment center. It's not good for the ocean or marine life. Just think of all the garbage alone!! When an accident occurs (God forbid), it's a nightmare, and captains and crews have been known to abandon the passengers to their own fate. In fact, in one case, the musicians saved the people! The captain is supposed to stay last, in fact, even go down with the ship. I don't quite see that helping anyone, but don't take off and leave the chaos on board behind and people to die! Sending you good wishes. No hard feelings, ok?
Small remark please: The measurements of the "Symphony" are Length 361m, Beam 47.5m, Draught 9.3m. If the "Symphony" was a block-shaped vessel, she would displace about 160,000 cubic meters of water. Her block coefficient is roughly 0.75 so it means that she is displacing about 120,000 cubic meters of water. about 120,000 tons. This is Archimedes! Her GRT (Gross Registered Tonnage) is really 228,081tons. However these "tons" are used for the measurement of ships internal volume, nothing to do with weight! One GRT is equivalent to 100 cubic feet. In other words, the internal volume of the "Symphony" is 22,808,100 cubic feet. Capt. Victor Ben-Cnaan
yep, I have been on two cruise, neither was really enjoyable, all they do on board is try to sell you stuff, and then they drop you in a third world port, were the natives try to sell you stuff! Namely drugs and cheap junk souvenirs made in china! I would only cruise the Rhine in Europe, if I ever cruised again!
10 hot tubs for around 6k people?? We had four or so on the carnival legend. And we had to deal with people's kids jumping in and swimming through the hot tubs. They were completely full the whole time. Hot tubs are my favorite part of a vacation, so that was a real bummer for me. Plus, the pool had sea water and wasn't warmed at all. It was an alright cruise for 2012. Still too many people for me. I couldn't imagine how long boarding would take. Took hours for us jusf standing there. Just too many people.
Yes and if the world wide grid goes down how will they be able to view any of the monitors to see what the parts of the ship are doing? It would cause chaos on the ship
Wonderful ship I was on the Harmony of the sea. Absolutely had the same planetarium center as symphony of the sea, beautiful ship. The service and people were wonderful. I can’t wait to do it again.
I can only imagine the amount of leftovers and food wastage from this ship and what it can do to the millions of children dying of hunger all across the world.
I want you guys to know... I thoroughly enjoyed this video and this ship. This will be my first cruise ship when I plan out my cruise..... I'm very very impressed.... ❤❤❤
I've been on my first ever two cruises in the last two years, after thinking for 59 years that cruises were for old fuddy-duddies. The ships I've been on are not on the scale of the subject of this video, but I get it. Fundamentally, waking up in a new port with somewhere new to explore every day, without having to pack and repack your suitcase, it's just a fantastic concept. My observations on these mega ships, admittedly without having been on them, would be that they are trying more and more to make the ship such an inherent attraction that the passengers don't bother going ashore and, instead, spend their time (and, of course, their money) on the ship. So I think I will probably stick to the smaller ships, where the destinations are the key, even while providing plenty of options and entertainment on board.
Какой красавец!Впервые вижу такой огромный лайнер!Как только водная поверхность выдерживает такую массу железа и пластика,людей,и т.д. ....Предел фантастики!
great translation and footage. most channels do not go to the point of manufacture as these guys have, engineering, assembly, trasport...excellent presentation
The biggest cruise ship in operation, is the Wonder of the Seas, who being the same size has 120 more cabins on board making it the largest until January 2024 when the Icon of the Seas will become the largest cruise ship of history. Just for the record.
All I can think about is THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK LOL BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER. I cannot fathom the thought about stormy weather and rogue waves and winds and the thought of uneven weight contributions!!! I envision the sides collapsing into the sea it’s a fright of a sight to me.
What on earth would make a person want to get on a ship with hundreds of people they haven't seen or will never see again and call it a vacation. I would call a nightmare
She’s truly a beautiful ship, we sailed on her several years ago not long after she made her maiden voyage and had one of the best, most memorable vacations, we stayed busy the entire time taking in the number of shows onboard, from sun up til after midnight many nights, we met a number of wonderful people, too! We had an ocean balcony room though this was the first time we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it, that’s how busy we were (plus we had a suitcase filled with a variety of themed rubber ducks we planted all over the vessel. My favorite restaurant was the Alice and Wonderland one, I can’t recall its name, the wait staff was on point, fun and entertaining, the chef’s food was superb! This was the first time we didn’t plan for any excursions at all, and we were glad we didn’t. Royal Caribbean is one of the most well built, classy, luxurious, comfortable with well-trained employees on the seas, and it’s also one of the few that’s taken the steps to protect our environment, oceans and the aquatic and plant life in it.
It has been five years since Ive been on Symphony but, Iam going back on her really soon. Captain Rob and his crew have done a beautiful job running that ship. Every inch is just absolutely beautiful. People who call it a monstrosity havent been on it. That ship has a space for everyone individually and then some. Try finding that on another boat. I betcha that you cant!
We never saw one of those spaces on this doc! Not a swimming pool, a lounge, and the only bar was empty, just an ordering tablet. Not a room, a spa, a massage, a sauna. The only entertainment was a performance on the ice, with ice skating during the day--what passengers are getting away from. No sunshine except on the docks, and no ports of call, just the dock. Antiseptic? Do they go places where people can visit a white sandy beach or scuba dive? Do people lounge in the sun by the pools? Or just shoot thru a water tube in a dystopian world--we never saw a room in any price range, and not a balcony or a window! The videos posted by employees of cruise lines of their rooms and jobs are more inviting than this behind the scenes doc that forget what was in front of the scenes, why we;'d want to be there.
I took a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas... My first and last cruise. The only highlight was our stop in St Maarten. I would have rather caught a plane to the island and gotten a room. It would have been much more fun!
At least you weren't standing in this area where the two monsters crashed into each other so violently! Unbelievable. Are they INCOMPETENT? Was there an official inquiry by any government agency that watches out for consumers' safety at sea? Was anyone charged with a crime? Who's RESPONSIBLE? The CAPTAIN is ultimately responsible, right? Wow, 100 plus years after Titanic and these ships can't avoid EACH OTHER. As large as the ocean is, they collide! And everyone seems to be yucking it up about it. Wow. Are ADULTS running this thing? Do they all speak the same language? Who is in charge of HIRING and FIRING the crew? Clearly, the greed for the buck will overcome any safety concerns the corporation has with its customers.
Looks to me more a huge block of inner city flats. Maybe it has to be, in order to offer bargain prices. But being in a city myself, I see that scene every day - it's not what I could put up with, when I'm also on holiday.!!!
For those that cruise, know that any tip you leave on your credit card goes to the 'ship'. The worker doesn't get it and they may work like 100 hours in a week for $200. Discretely tip them in cash, if they are seen taking it they will be told to turn that into the 'ship'.
This video offers an amazing glimpse into the world of luxury yacht production! The craftsmanship and attention to detail in these shipyards are absolutely mind-blowing. But it does raise a question-do we really need this level of extravagance when there are so many global challenges? Still, it’s fascinating to see how engineering and artistry come together to create something so opulent. Incredible work capturing this process!
I can think of nothing more hellish that being cooped up in this floating petri dish of a ship for days on end with 5999 people I don't know and am almost certain not to like.
The biggest critics in the comments are complaining about how crowded it is and yet are the same ones that have never been on this amazing ship. How does that work? 🤷♂️
Free advertising for the ships to heck with crew members lives I guess. I wonder how they vet crew members to work on their ships. There's been some stories over the years on some members of the crew doing bad things on the ships they work on.
For the commentary it is a quay wall correct but it's pronounced like a (Key wall) Quay wall. A dock is called a quay(Key) wall where a ship is moored.
This is really amazing and perhaps one day when I go to Malaysia I would take a cruise ship and cruise over to Singapore and adventure but it will be memorable
I agree. All those people around me when swimming, eating, drinking etc etc. Not a chance. Whenever I've been on vacation to a good upmarket resort the holiday makers are loud, rude, drunk. Etc. To me it seems like they leave their manners and decency at home. Also screaming crying spoilt kids running around onboard. No absolute way would I inflict that suffering on myself. Me... I'd rather stay home with my family and my dogs. Or just maybe a log cabin by a quiet lake in a forest ❤❤❤
I may be only 11 but i have lots of experiences of cruises, i have been on 4 cruises, and symphony of the seas and oasis of the seas have been my favorite ones so far. 10/10 would recommend if you can.(try the robot bartender on oasis of the seas if you manage to go)
Gotta admit that's impressive on a certain level. But it sure ain't for me. When and if I "go to sea" I go for peace and quiet... and as few people around me as possible. If I wanted this kind of experience, I'd go to Las Vegas.
Very nice video. You worked very hard to show every thing , every aspect of the ship, but you firgot to let us know how crew members take rest where they sleep ? and how are cabins of the passengers ?
U KNOW ITS ONE THING MAKING THE VIDEO AN ITS ANOTHER OUT ON OCEAN AN WHO KNOWS WHATS GONE HAPPEN. I WOULD NOT GET ON THIS DISASTER SHIP IT I WON EVERYTHING FREE TICKET I’D SALE FOR THE MONEY. NO SHIP FOR ME EVER. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
it looks like a strong wind would blow it over i hope the design people have allowed a decent tolerance in their calculations or it will end up upside down
It would be interesting to see, but I feel you do not get a good cruise experience with so many people on these huge ships. The much smaller ships like the old Carnival Jubilee were really the best passenger and crew experience!
Excelente video. Me encanta ese SINFONIA DEL MAR. Espero viajar en esa nave en el futuro cercana para escuchar La Sinfonía que produce semejante nave. Mi nomre es Darío Mendoza (USA).

I went on a cruise on Harmony of the Sea in October. I loved everything about the trip. Nothing negative. Anxiously awaiting my next cruise. . The crew were outstanding. The food absolutely the best. Love , Love , Love. And I an older lady of 76.
What was your itinerary?
Did you go alone?
@@krissto22 no. I went with 20 other people
I wish I could get my wife to go on a cruise. I too am 76.
76 and you on youtube … hmmmm
As a land-based creature, I will never understand how another land-based creature can be comfortable, anxiety-free, or able to truly rest easy on a floating vessel without any solid ground for dozens, if not hundreds of miles.
Going out on a boat isnt the thing that would bother me. Going on a boat that is too dang big and loaded with over 6,000 people all in a small confined area would bother me the most

I had anxiety on my first cruise last week
The River Cruises are nice. Much much much smaller. More of a restful atmosphere. And not a lot of inebriated people 😉
@user-tt3qq1zn7d A River Cruise does sound nice. A lot less anxiety, too, knowing that the river bank is close by at all times
This man is so disrespectful. Touches everything, everyone in his way. Why can't he be more respectful?
he is fuc..russian ,he is not able to be respecful

Think of the waste this thing produces and the food it takes? its vulgar.
The only good thing is it puts 6000 ‘cruisers’ away from us sane people who enjoy the natural world
Sounds boring. Getting bitten by bugs. Been there and done that. I'm old. I want to be pampered. To each their own.
I've cruised a few times, and I still found this video amazing! I gather that the original video was narrated in Russian, and you've done an excellent job in overdubbing it in English.
One exception: the USA and UK pronunciation of "quay wall" is "key wall", NOT "KWAY wall"!!
@@butchieblock9118
True, but you'll hear it pronounced KWAY even by native English speakers.
thanks
If you need someone to carry your baggage give me a ring.

You must have the bucks to cruise I guess.
@@MissX905 I just save for one trip per year and go during off season. Usually costs me around $2000 in total with all costs. I get interior cabins which saves me a lot unless I get a deal for a balcony.
"Jack I'm flying"
Way too large for me. In 2022 we took at Viking cruise from Sweden around the Baltic to Denmark, Poland, Germany and Norway. The ship had seven hundred passengers on it, not seven thousand! And once you sail on Viking you can't go back.... no kids, no casinos, no fees to eat in special restaurants, no art shows, no roaring tunes by the pool, it was lovely.
You must try this one too to be able to compare with fairness.
That does sound nice!
What do you mean by, "you can't go back"??
Also, are kids not allowed?
No casinos??
No art shows, or poolside music??
Why not??
SHEESH--my dad's pontoon seems more fun than the viking!🤷
That sounds like a cruise ship nursing home-- no casinos, but there bingo every night!😅
Yeeeeaaaahhh, that cruise ship seems to be equipped FOR, "the faint at heart"
🥱 🥱 🥱
WITH THAT BEING SAID: I THINK I have the answers to my previous questions...
(1st question)- u can't go back, ("meaning "home,") maybe bc your kids didn't want the responsibility of taking care of you-
(Questions 2-5) Bc, kids are a different kind of "special" these days.
"No art shows, and no roaring tunes by the pool"- first off all, the roaring tunes comment, is HE-LARRYUS!!😂
Maybe, there's no art shows, bc the captain or whomever is, in charge of the activities upon the ship chose wisely in making sure that everyone is given their own free will, to participate when and where, the activity of their choice, feels calm, peaceful, and comfortable-- but most of all, that each and every individual onboard the cruise ship, experiences plenty of JOY, LAUGHTER, AND FUN!!❤
LASTLY,"NO ROARING TUNES by the pool" I'm almost 5000% SURE, that there's no weird music playing while ppl are trying to actually enjoy their time in the pool, to strengthen parts of the body that somehow SEEM to have gone on an everlasting lunch break OR retirement bc EVERY MUSCLE, LIGAMENTS, TENDONS,AND OF COURSE YOUR BONES, which can be EXTREMELY stubborn at times!!, so much so, that when the pain flares up, and ("on a scale of 1-10, how would you describe the amount of pain your experiencing right at this moment?")becomes extremely unbearable, THEN, your primary care Dr prescribes you anywhere between 8-12 of the WEAKEST pain meds on the MARKET!!!???!!!
ONE OF THE BEST WAYS KNOWN TO MAN, that'll guarantee results, AND have loads of fun, all the while, getting in some much needed FANTASTICAL EXERCISING BY-- YOU GUESSED IT, SWIMMING! And what a PERFECT cruise for the elderly--
MY EDUCATED GUESS + YOUR explanations of this cruise ship + the name of the ship("Viking"), kiiiindaaaaa LEADS ME TO believe, that this is NOT some ordinary Cruise service here--
ONCE AGAIN, THE INFO I'VE COLLECTED, ALONG WITH THE INFO COLLECTED FROM OTHERS-- LEADS ME TO BELIEVE, THAT THIS VERY "CRUISE SHIP" (THE VIKING), that YOU speak so highly of, is NOT even a "cruise ship" darling--
BUT INSTEAD, ACCORDING TO YOUR BRILLIANT WAYS OF WOOING ALL THOSE ( YES! INCLUDING MYSELF) NEVERTHELESS, YOUR VERY DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF THE VIKINGS, LED ME ACTUALLY TO SEE THINGS, AS IF I WAS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU-- I CAN VERY MUCH SO SAY, THAT I HAVEN'T USED THE IMAGINATION PART OF MY BRAIN, IN YEARS!!!
MAYBE SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL 6TH GRADE?🤷🧐😮💨 I MUST ABOVE AND BEYOND, EXPRESS AND APPRECIATE THE AUTHOR OF THIS VIVED READ! FOR REMINDING ME, THAT TONS OF BITS AND PIECES OF MY LIFE, , MANY MANY MANY YEARS AGO-- YET, THE CHILD IN ME is 10xs more, slick, witti, and candid with the tongue.,..
Major shout-out to the author of this thread(comment)-- you rock!!
This would be the ONLY cruise I would ever take.
No kids?? sounds like a dream!!!!
Convinced me to never be in a port when this ship is there.
What they're doing to ports that were once enjoyable is total wreckage.
@@taroman7100 houthis
Thanks for the arrow on the thumbnail. I was looking for the ship and that saved me a lot of time.
Its like a giant city. I'm used to much smaller, but wouldnt mind trying it once to see how I like it. It looks beautiful.
@5:51 AND 9:36 did the voice over narrator say "KWAY" wall??? UK and USA pronunciation is "key" quay!!
By far the best vacation I’ve ever been on! I absolutely loved this ship and have sailed on it twice. Next for me is Wonder and then Icon!
But how much does it cost?
@@vanessapagan9526 I paid $2,600 total for a gorgeous ocean view balcony stateroom. But I’ve seen prices as low as $800 for an inside cabin.

Awesome video. Extremely edifying and great insight into this Goliath. I also enjoyed the script of the narration.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and at times jaw-dropping tour of a floating city that operates at a Five Star level.
WEIRD.
Its crazy how the video was stolen from another channel and he just talked over it
The tonnage the author mentioned is actually gross tonnage. It is a measurement of enclosed volume rather than displacement. The displacement of the ship is actually about half of that number, close to 100000 metric tons.
I cannot imagine a less appealing holiday experience.
Me too,
Not me. Sounds great.
Good.
Vacation to me is NOT to be around thousands of people…but hey, to each their own !!
We have never had a problem with any of that, though my wife and I do like the more personal touch a smaller upper-end cruise provides.
Not necessarily every meal needs reservation. If anything, reservations help the cruise to efficiently manage resources.
@@BigZoe99
I was on a Carnival Cruise and they had several restaurants.
What a logistics nightmare. Absolutely amazing.. 9,000 people on a ship? NO THANKS!.
We love Alexey Vershinin ever since we first saw him on Largest Offshore Oil Platform. He really connects with his audience and brings his enthusiasm front and center. More Alexey Please....
Sure, you love terrorussian scums.
Russian is a murderer...
This is straight out of H.G. Wells's Time Machine, in which there are two classes of people. "The Eloi live a banal life of ease on the surface while the Morlocks live underground, tending machinery and providing food, clothing, and inventory for the Eloi."
You are welcome to donate all your hard earned money to the Morlocks if you like.
I'd love for a good movie producer to make an absolute horrendous movie about a cruise ship. Lol... Frighten them all.😂😂😂
Thanks to Russian journalist Vershinin Aleksey and his team for bringing us on a super interesting visit of Royal Caribbean's giant of a ship and all the places traveler's don't see like the helm, kitchens, mechanical rooms, etc. fascinating!
The only thing I don't agree with is saying staff are well paid, quite the contrary, they often work 12 hour days, 6 days a week and share windowless rooms on the bottom of the ship.
Cruise lines don't respect their crew enough.
Profits and shareholders.
Well, they might be well paid if you are a Russian. At least, one who isn’t a computer geek writing code, be it malware or something good.
Lauderdale.
It's not a 'she', it's a ship. I spent decades in the Australian Navy, object anthropomorphism is cringe.
Excellent story, high information density, every second interesting. I imagine the worst part of a cruise is 10,000 people disembarking in a tiny Caribbean port. Maybe better to just stay onboard.

I don't quite see that helping anyone, but don't take off and
leave the chaos on board behind and people to die!
Sending you good wishes. No hard feelings, ok?
Small remark please:
The measurements of the "Symphony" are Length 361m, Beam 47.5m, Draught 9.3m.

I am left speechless of this incredibly ship. Never knew that this kind of technology exist. I definitely want to go on this ship for a cruise.

I fell asleep on the second episode after engulfing so much info on a sofa , love videos like these, just subscribed.
A video of a ship personnel's day at work as well as of their quarters and personal time would be awesome. I loved this video by the way, thank you.
I'm not sure why you would want to see videos of the personnel sleeping.
Thank you for showing us the ship but I think is a it is a monstrosity!
I've never been on a cruise and I'm not sure I'd ever go. But those I know who have, really seem to love it. Who knows 😂

It is a monstrosity and why would going on board change my view? Ugh
When you call this vacation... You must be crazy...!
I took a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas... My first and last cruise. The only highlight was our stop in St Maarten. I would have rather caught a plane to the island and gotten a room. It would have been much more fun!
......and cheaper.
Interesting take. I am afraid of leaving land. My fav is land journeys across Europe in my SUV.
You couldn’t pay me enough to go on that thing with such horrible crowds!
Looks to me more a huge block of inner city flats.
Maybe it has to be, in order to offer bargain prices.
But being in a city myself, I see that scene every day - it's not what I could put up with, when I'm also on holiday.!!!
They float the same monstrosity on the seas and call it a wonder .
I could not imagine anything worse than cruising in these enormous vessels! They look like larger versions of live sheep and cattle transport ships.
I went on its sistership Harmony of the seas in the middle of July, it was the best vacation I’ve ever been on.

If you live in a city, then you live in a petri dish so might as well have fun.
What about all night buffets? Are the 24-hour buffets still available aboard these ships?
I can think of nothing more hellish that being cooped up in this floating petri dish of a ship for days on end with 5999 people I don't know and am almost certain not to like.
And I’m sure they’d enjoy your friendly personality.
AGREED! I'll pass
What is that arrow for, and why does it have so many extra decks in the thumbnail?
The biggest critics in the comments are complaining about how crowded it is and yet are the same ones that have never been on this amazing ship. How does that work? 🤷♂️
Keyboard commandos
have you done a video of the crews life on board these ships .. every show is about the passengers and what they get . thanks
A place where you Eat Sleep and Shiit and not necessarily in that order😂
Reminds me of The Poseidon Adventure.
That is the most horrifying idea of a “vacation.”
Don't hate it just because you can't afford it.
@@J.D.Visionit sounds like absolute hell regardless of the price.
You should try it. ❤
Nightmare
I may be only 11 but i have lots of experiences of cruises, i have been on 4 cruises, and symphony of the seas and oasis of the seas have been my favorite ones so far. 10/10 would recommend if you can.(try the robot bartender on oasis of the seas if you manage to go)
Looks like Hell. I would not enter such a monster even if I got paid.
Shout out from Jamaica 🇯🇲 wow awesome ship ❤it.
Gotta admit that's impressive on a certain level. But it sure ain't for me. When and if I "go to sea" I go for peace and quiet... and as few people around me as possible.
If I wanted this kind of experience, I'd go to Las Vegas.
Takes me back when i took that cruise back in 2019... it was a blast
1.3m view and it seems you did not even have to go onboard for this video...well done!
All I can say is wow more than phenomenal.
Super great video
Looks like a container ship for people!
Tinned salmon ...
Very nice video. You worked very hard to show every thing , every aspect of the ship, but you firgot to let us know how crew members take rest where they sleep ? and how are cabins of the passengers ?
Great video and "Quay" is pronounced 'Key'.....cheers.
WOW a floating Mall!!
I am blown away by this ship/video. Extremely impressed with all of it, from the ships engineering to the enormously well trained crew!
They also dock in The Bahamas, the port in Nassau.
People must like these monster ships to book it. Can't think of anything worse than a floating hotel x amusement park. Hideous!
it looks like a strong wind would blow it over i hope the design people have allowed a decent tolerance in their calculations or it will end up upside down
It would be interesting to see, but I feel you do not get a good cruise experience with so many people on these huge ships. The much smaller ships like the old Carnival Jubilee were really the best passenger and crew experience!
It’s an awesome ship - you did not feel as if there were 6k people with you!!
Quay is pronounced 'Kee'
I can tell you’re going off your imagination bcos it far from crowed.
It’s pronounced Kay
You're wrong. I live near Circular Quay and the only morons who pronounce it 'Kay' are tourists.
Excelente video. Me encanta ese SINFONIA DEL MAR. Espero viajar en esa nave en el futuro cercana para escuchar La Sinfonía que produce semejante nave.
Mi nomre es Darío Mendoza (USA).
