Watching this video made me grab a couple of the last few skeins of Cinnamon Roll you had left 😂 I just love it so much! I'm going to make a short sleeve Plumetis Top with it 🧡 I'm currently speeding my way through a Spring Breeze Sweater by Two of Wands in a light pink yarn that I'm hoping to get done in time to take photos with the cherry blossoms that bloom in late April-early May. There's still snow on the ground and it's still pretty chilly so I feel confident I can get it done in time 🌸 Hope you're doing well Hannah!
it's a bit late to be worrying about your name(s) being confusing! 😉😂 I watched Rebecca of the creabea podcast talk about her favourite yarns and one was Kinross 4 ply, she claimed it felt like cashmere after a few washes even though it's 100% wool. So I had a look for stockists and there's one in Nottingham! 🥳 So that was my little jolly on Sat morning, the Yarn Loft. Parked in lidl, got a bit spooked by all the 'customer only parking' signs, so nipped in and got 2 bars of chocolate and checked I wasn't supposed to be putting my reg no in anywhere then walked up the hill. Lovely shop, have you been? She stocks jamieson and smith, WYS, laxtons, noro, rowan, all very lovely. She had a washed swatch of the kinross and it did indeed feel like cashmere, so I got 5 different colours and I'm planning a fair isle poncho I think. Picked up a couple of balls of the new WYS DK sock too in funky colours to make hubby more socks as he's always getting holes in them. They go into the darning pile and live there 🤣 The stardew valley colourways look lush, I'm sure they'll fly off the hooks at EAYF 😁
Whilst I totally agree about a pension and an emergency fund, I think it's worth remembering those things are privileges. I've just given up my small business of 15 years to become normally employed and lots of months was a struggle to just get through the month and pay bills. I didn't have any excess to save up a years worth of outgoings. I did / do have a private pension though but yeah, I would have lovvvvved to earn enough to save £1000's too.
Oh I completely agree it's a privilege! Believe me, I've been building the emergency fund very slowly through the years and dipped into it in the slow months. Sorry to hear that you've had to give up your small business. That must have been a very difficult decision to make xx

No shame about slow sweater knitting. My sweater from October is in timeout so I can enjoy quicker projects: toddler sweater, crochet baby blanket, socks. Maybe I'll have enough mojo to go back to the sweater after

The dinosaur SM is adorable. The dragons are too. Hmmm, surprised about the sheep and chickens not being popular after a show. I like them year 'round lol.Whenever I was in the business of selling "things", whatever it was, I always had low price thru high price items. Work to life imbalance is important. Pensions, retirement of some sort, emergency funds and retire early if you're able...all things to work toward and try to have :)
I don't think it's confusing to be Corner of Craft with Chromatic Yarns - you have stitch markers too, and can expand into other items you want to try at any time with your company name. I like it 🧡

4ply = sock weight. We also have DK, but it's sometimes called Double Knitting. That does help! Too many other interesting projects to be working on, or you're enjoying the cardi so much that you don't want it to end? x
I’m working on a fingering weight sweater by Dragon hoard yarn and while I love the pattern (the adventure sweater) I probably won’t be wearing it until the fall because it’s taking forever!! 😂
Coming to EAYF never been to one before, a skein or two from you is on my list, i have Christmas and birthday money to spend.

Do you have any tips for knitting garments with variegated yarn? Your cardigan and your jumper are perfect!
Thank you! If it's a very busy yarn, keep the pattern a but simpler. Complex Lace and cables will get lost. And alternate skeins every round if you're using indie dyed yarn to limit the chance of a sudden change when you start a new skein. Other than that, have fun!! x
I would think as popular as the emotional support chicken has been this year, chicken stick markers would do well this year too. But I'm bad at understanding normal humans so.... shrug. LOL. Also is the cardi you're wearing a pattern?
