      They were lucky there wasn't a gas or other volatile explosion. Building fires are highly unpredictable. My buddy's dog died horrifically that way, and he could have died with her had the fire department not prevented him from going back in for her. The fire at the time did not appear that dangerous, mostly just a lot of smoke and certainly less severe looking than in this video.

      this is a good example of conformity in an urgent situation. This reaction is exemplified by the smoky room experiment, where an individual waits in a classroom alone and the room fills with smoke. The normal reaction for the individual is to pull the fire alarm or call for help. But if the individual is in a classroom filled with students and smoke pours in and none of the classmates react to it, then the individual will not seek help even if the smoke continues to pour in.

    This just reminds me of how some people who live in tornado alley would hear the sirens go off, walk outside to look around, see a tornado at a distance, record until they notice that the tornado isn’t moving and the last thing you hear before they put away their phone is “Oh shi-“.

    • @martikalyle6729
      @martikalyle6729 3 месяца назад +29

      As someone who's hometown is in tornado alley, we are actually taught to go outside to look around so we know what is going on! "Eyes on the sky" is the motto I learned all my life, meaning you need to watch what's happening otherwise you won't know what the danger level really is. Most tornadoes need people to report them to local authorities for the weather service to put out warnings for others to take cover, so it's really important to actually see them with your own eyes. However, recording it while debris fly around in front of you is.....not ideal lol

    • @gotakazawa408
      @gotakazawa408 3 месяца назад +3

      Exactly. It's common to stir-fry vegetables over high heat, so small flames or smoke are usual occurrences. Of course, if the flames reached the ceiling and continued burning, everyone would evacuate. In fact, when the staff determined they couldn't extinguish the fire on their own, they guided the customers to safety. In the fact no one was injured in this incident.

    Last meal? A5 Wagyu ribeye steak or just a prime grilled ribeye. No sauces necessary, just a good rub & seasoning. Juicy rare.
    Or a good beef tenderloin (aka filet mignon) with Béarnaise sauce. Either with a loaded baked potato rubbed with oil & salt.
    Alternatively, a steak au poivre (pepper steak) is good; a filet mignon coated with coarsely cracked peppercorns, seared in a hot skillet with a small amount of butter and oil to form a crust while leaving the interior rare. Important that he steak is left to rest for several minutes before serving with a pan peppercorn sauce consisting of reduced cognac, heavy cream, and the fond from the bottom of the pan, often including other ingredients such as butter, shallots, and/or Dijon mustard. Pair with a good Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon like Duckhorn Vineyards or Camus. Start with a Roquefort or blue cheese salad and end with a cheesecake. Yum!

    Ramen so good, it's to die for! 😂
    I actually tried to think of what my last meal would be and I'm not sure. I don't think I'm wordly enough to say anything big brained so I'll go with one of my favorite things. My mom's barbecued baby back ribs, actually grilled outside and not in the oven (charcoal grilled, get outta here with that propane and propane accessories 😂).
    She made some last year for one of the many holidays we Americans use as an excuse to grill and they were immaculate. I mean, not my hands or face, but damn. To use a phrase in the black community, my mom put her foot in it, lol.
    I can't grill to save my life and have tried ordering from other BBQ places to maybe find a place that was as good as hers, but I've yet to find it. Not saying no one can compete, I just don't know of a restaurant that I've liked as much as hers. I never want to trouble my mom, though, so even when she asked what I wanted to eat for my birthday last month, I just said a key lime pie instead of bringing up the ribs. That key lime pie was also immaculate 😅.

    I used to work food service for military and twice the building caught fire and half the soldiers REFUSED to leave, it took the fire response and MPs to remove them. I've seen guys eat while literally under fire so I guess this was not too alarming.

    For those who wonder why here is the explanation : For those die hard Jiro ramen fan it’s a sin for not finish the ramen so a lot of die hard fan will literally die then rather not finish the ramen.

    This situation is a good example of conformity in an urgent situation. This reaction is exemplified by the smoky room experiment, where an individual waits in a classroom alone and the room fills with smoke. The normal reaction for the individual is to pull the fire alarm or call for help. But if the individual is in a classroom filled with students and smoke pours in and none of the classmates react to it, then the individual will not seek help even if the smoke continues to pour in.

      it might comes down to being a good bowl of ramen requires it be hot enough that hands couldn’t hold it. Which also explains why they make those sound when taking them: to cool down the batch of noodle you selected with your chopsticks, leaving the hot soup for a second and extended and exposed to air, just enough for your mouth to take it.

    I mean here's the thing if you've only ever had Instant Maruchan ramen then you don't know how good the real thing is. No not good enough to stay in a fire tho that's dumb/lazy (maybe just super tired lmao work in Japan is insane) I mean I would just take the bowl outside with me and finish it on the street... I somehow doubt the owner would be like "NO LEAVE THAT FOOD YOU PAID FOR AND LEAVE MY BOWL TO BURN" like lmao aren't you helping the owner if anything by taking the bowl out with you in this situation??

    I can kinda understand where they’re coming from. They might be in a state of “well after this, I just gotta go back to my miserable job/life situation so if I’m gonna die, might as well while doing (or in this case, eating) what I love”.
    I dunno about the staff’s reaction though, that was weird.
