Thanks Alvin, I own an Orbea GAIN with the ebikemotion hub and IWOC One controller and this helps a lot with figuring out the color codes. The battery level and assist function use the same three colors, green, orange, red, so it can be a little confusing on the bike toggling through the assist levels on the fly trying to keep your attention on the road ahead at the same time. Regards the ebike debate in general, I once was an uncompromising purist but age is the great leveler and in your mid 60's a little help (pedal assist) is welcome.

I have the phone app, but would love to have it displayed on my bike computer instead. Also curious if it could show cadence and power from the motor? Thank you!
Hi Lisa! Just about every Orbea Gain will be able to pair with a Garmin 1040, especially if it is a 2019 or newer bike. The Garmin 1040 will show you what assist you're using, your battery life, and it'll let you change your assist level through the touchscreen as well. Nothing about the cadence and exactly how much power the motor is using, however.

Hello. I have a Cannondale Quick Neo SL bike. I can use one of two apps to track my rides: the Cannondale app or the MAHLE My SmartBike app. They seem to offer some similar functionality. Both connected to my bike. Which would you recommend I use to track activity?
I personally would use the Mahle app. For the most part, anything that would go wrong electronically on the bike, Mahle would need to fix, so if you only want to have one app, that one would be more useful, should anything go wrong.
Hi Roy. I just purchased a less than 1 year old Bianchi Aria E-road. I am trying to get my head around the ebikemotion system. When I start in eco, when idle, it switches to turbo every time. This would probably be a setting (I am using the new Mahle app and my ebike is connected to a wahoo element roam). I can't seem to find a manual or a discussion that mentions this issue. I hope you can help me out here or guide me to sources of information where I could find what's wrong?
Any clues as to what the flashing purple light means ? Struggling to find an answer online ! Sometimes pops on and the whole bike is dead. Quick switch on/off seems to get rid of it and works again. Just a bit concerning if it’s going to be an underlying problem for the future. Much appreciated if you can shed some light on this.
Hi Benjamin. The flashing purple light on the iWOC One Controller is a default error code and does not specify exactly what problem is occurring in the system. Ebikemotion recommends taking your bike to your local shop so they can run diagnostics on the Dealer App and troubleshoot what is going on. We recommend taking it to a shop as soon as possible and get the problem resolved. If you have other questions we can help answer please leave us a comment, email info@contenderbicycles.com or give us a call at 801-364-0344. Thanks!
I have a Orbea D30 and despite a battery change I cannot get the coachsmart device to work and also the iWok is set on orange and will not change. Please advise.
Orange should just mean that the bike is in between 25% and 50% charge, have you thrown the bike on a charger recently? We have noticed that the mount for those computers can be really tight in the mount which can cause the battery to slip out and affect its ability to turn on, our running policy is 'if the computer is working, do not remove it from the bike,' because it can cause it to reset. If you have any other questions you can call our shop line, otherwise I would advise you to take it to your closest Mahle dealer to help get you sorted.
Well except if you are color blind. Also, is there a way to adjust the led brightness? The little Ebikemotion Pulsar One monochrome ANT+ LEV that comes with the system appears to not have a backlight. Can't see the screen in the dark! I have an Orbea Gain M20i Small. I bought it for a family member. I can't ride it as it is not my size and I'd damage the carbon with my weight. The bike I ride is the Giant Road E+ 1 2021 Large. It has backlight, color display, and no button colors to worry about. I'm just not impress with Orbea Gain computer system, ebikemotion is it? With the lack of backlight on their displays for a bike I spent over 6k dollars on.
Is there a way add a normal e-bike type screen, maybe something aftermarket. I find it frustrating that you have to cycle all the way through each level when you want to go DOWN a level (say from Level 2 to Level 1)? Or is there some way to go through levels in reverse I don't know about?
Some of the Ebikemotion bikes (like the 2020 and newer Orbea Gain) have an ANT+ receiver that is compatible with OC LEV+ display. This allows you to control your assist from the two arrow buttons on the computer. (www.orbea.com/us-en/gear/accessories/cat/display-oc-lev-dongle-ant or www.orbea.com/us-en/gear/accessories/cat/display-oc-ant--lev)
How do you get the back red light to work or come on? The store had me download cannondale app, what’s the difference with the ebikemotion app.? Can I use both, do they turn on by themselves, or do I need to have the app’s opened on my phone when I hop on the bike?
The Cannondale app does not have control over the Ebikemotion part of the bicycle, though both can give you speed and track your riding if you so choose. An advantage of the Cannondale app is that you don't need to turn on your phone for the app to track your rides. It'll store 30 rides at once, so just make sure to pair the sensor with your phone periodically save your rides. For tracking to activate on the Ebikemotion app, you'll have to turn on the bike, turn on your phone, ensure that both are paired via Bluetooth, and start tracking on each app respectively.
Thanks for this and other Ebikemotion videos. The Orbea website shows a "Display" optional add-on of OC monochrome ANT+ LEV for $129. What exactly is that and does it allow for up/down control of the assist level? Also, is there any hope that Ebikemotion will get Garmin Edge compatibility/controllability now that 2020's have ANT+ LEV? Thank you
The computer uses an ANT+ connection to connect to your Gain. There, it can control assist levels, show speed, distance, and myriad other things if you have the right sensors. The ANT+ sensor is equipped on the 2020 Orbea Gain carbon models. The 2019 will have to have the ANT+ sensor installed separately. No word on Ebikemotion integration with Garmins.
Generally speaking, this is best solved with a hard reset. You can press and hold the power button for 20 seconds until it restarts. Sometimes that fixes it. Otherwise, you'll have to take it to an ebikemotion specific dealer that can do a diagnostic test from the dealer side.
Hi, this video was very useful but I have a problem with my week old ebike that has the iwoc one system. During charging the light starts flashing pink and continues after the charger is disconnected and will not let me change the mode, any idea what the problem is? Thanks
