Reviewers crapping on this release is making it harder to find the OG parfum which was readily available on every discounter in the USA,but now a day after the new release it is sold out everywhere.then weeks later they will come out and say oh MFK release is a master piece!!!
Great catch. Funny how they’re ALL sponsored by and endorse those same discounters that they’re helping clear back stock. I never thought about it until your comment.
This is reminding me of what Ash from Gent Scents said about Dior back in 2020. It feels like they're refusing (in this case, they still are) to take chances anymore, and prefers to chase trends instead of creating new ones like they used to. You'll be missed Dior Homme Parfum
Agreed with Eau F-crap! The worst release last year! My and the sales lady from Nordstrom smelled it for the first time e and we were both like, “What the hell? Is this a joke?” She was like this is awful! I told her it was water based and we both went “This is terrible!” lol
Picked up DHP in Oct to partner my DHI and Prada L'Homme Intense group. I'm so glad have the OG seems redundant to get DHP 2025 whilst I gave those three.
Never tired Dior Homme Parfum. But in definitely adding it to the list. And for me, I personally love Sauvage Eau Forte, but I can see why people hate this new release. Some people just have their own preferences when it comes to fragrances and we all have that right. The scent profile is one of those things. I like it, but it’s definitely not for everyone. It’s not mass appealing. It’s for certain people that like the idea of not drying their skin out with alcohol or just don’t like having alcohol on their skin in general.
The original dior homme parfum was popular amongst collectors but in the real world they discontinued it because nobody buys and most people don’t even like the way it smells and yes it’s very artistic fragrance but why continue to make something if only a minority buys it and I disagree with you saying the new one has cheap ingredients this is Dior we’re talking about almost everything they make is high quality
@School of Scent Love your content and absolutely LOVE the 2014 Dior Homme Parfum. For me it’s MORE than a signature sent, it is like a part of myself… that has been destroyed! Do you have any recommendations, any other perfumes, any clones, anything at all, that is identical to the 2014-2019 Dior Homme Parfum? Thank you! 🙏
@joneslarvell2075 100% get a sample of Amouage Interlude Black Iris before buying, It is a beast of a scent, it is for everyone and I second that it could scratch the Dior Homme Parfum itch.
Like you, I think it feels like something from the Gentlemen line as well. I like that line but I have two problems with this fragrance. 1. It’s trying to take the identity of one a fragrance that crushes it in every way. 2. It’s way overpriced. As an iris fan, this smells good but nothing close to as good as my 75ml bottle of DHP. I actually prefer Gentlemen Boisée and RP to this.
Great video as always. Smashing the content. Given you can no longer pick up the older formulation, if you wanted a Dior Homme fragrance, would you buy the new 2025 version or the Intènse? In your opinion of course
Omar i think J'S EXTE for men by EXTE should take credit when it comes to Door Homme DNA since they are the ones who are the first to release followed by Dior a year later
KURDJIAN NAILED THE GREATEST DIOR HOMME PERFUME, AFTER THE MESSY EAU FORTE, SEMEN LOOKING LIKE. WE WANT THE DIOR HOMME ORIGINAL TO BE KEPT! LET'S CONTACT DIOR AND ASK NOT TO BE SPOILED BY KURDJIAN MESS!
So sad i have a 2020 full bottle but i would be reluctant to use it now knowing i can never buy it again. Mfk is coming in with a niche attitude to a designer house !dhp is a masterpiece
I just received two of the OG that will last me two winters or three then we’re out. It’s gonna be gone forever. It’s sad something like this goes away, just like the good people in life.
@@BillSaggar That's why I got FOMO Gary's Den. If I can't get another bottle of the OG then if Gary's Den is in stock again, I'll get another bottle. Still better than DHP 2025. Cheers.
FK is royally FK'ing the entire Dior line (or all of the new releases I've sniffed at least). He appears to be playing the role of LVMH hatchet man fairly well.
Omar, Do you have any alternatives to Dior homme or Dior homme parfum? I can’t wear fragrances that have violet #2 in their ingredients as it causes allergic skin reactions. Thanks!
Not Omar, but I think I can help. Closest one you can get is Givenchy Reserve Privee or Valentino Uomo Intense (not Born in Roma one, just Uomo Intense). Omar kinda hates Givenchy, but a lot of people won't agree, it's rich, chocolaty, boozy Iris. Smells like good Cognac a lil bit. But if you want something closer to Homme Parfum and niche, you should go for Interlude Black Iris. But it's challenging for some people (just like Homme Parfum), so try it out first. No Violet here, as much as I remember.
@@mysterriblereserve privee is a great fragrance. I don't reach for it often, and it's not my favorite by any stretch, but sometimes I want to wear it and it has evoked more compliments than almost anything else I have.
@mysterrible thank you for the suggestions! I actually tried givenchy reserve prive and it smells a lot like Dior homme intense but the ingredients on the box list violet #2 and give me an allergic reaction. Otherwise it would be a fantastic substitute. I have not tried the Valentino Uomo intense and will add it to my list to sample. (Just have to check the ingredients) and I already ordered interlude black iris sample from Decant X to try out. I don’t understand why these perfume makers keep adding coloring to the juice. Just color the perfume bottle, no one cares if the fragrance looks orange or whatever. All these extra ingredients just make it more toxic and dangerous to the skin. Thank you for your suggestions I will try them out.
just got it in today at my job at nordstroms, not that bad. I do get that chocolate (patchouli) coffee kinda vibe from it, but i do agree it reminds me of something in the gentleman line. Not better than the og tho, but give it some time and i think it’ll grow on some, at least it’s not as a big as a flop as Eau Forte 😂
I always found the Homme 2020 a simple fragrance, nothing really special. For this reason i bought BDC instead of it and kept my Homme Intense. BDC is a deeper, richer and more elegant fragrance for those after a masculine woody scent.
@@Lucas-ck1poBDC and Dior Homme 2020 are so wildly different... why are you even comparing them? Completely different vibe to me, between those two. While BDC is very upbeat, inoffensive, fresh, citrusy, DH 2020 is more serious, still fresh and clean but that Iris makes it a completely different family of fragrance to me.
@G_F1 What Iris? Dior Homme 2020 was a reformulation that excluded iris completely from the notes. It's a very basic woody base fragrance with a citrus top note, similar to the BDC line, while the later being a darker, thicker, more complex execution.
I just hope Christian Dior fires this Perfumer if he doesn't start creating Dior quality fragrances. Is starting to feel like Gucci when they discontinued their best fragrances Pour Honme 1 and 2. Those were masterpieces. Now they just creating designer lower level fragrances. They are not the same
My wife likes it so I’m sold 😅I have never smelled the old Dior homme parfum but maybe they should have made the same thing like they did with Dior homme original and change the name to Dior homme original parfum. And add Dior homme parfum 2025 like they did with Dior homme 2020

Saw reviews on this fragrance and bought 2 bottles of original parfum (I mean 100ml one but it's really close to OG). I dunno what's going on, but something is definitely wrong with DIOR and MFK (perfumer, not MFK brand). Thx for review Omar)
@clipsssviral might be, but I don't see a lot of people complain about longevity and projection in 100ml one, I guess it's more or less the same. Maybe it's like when Layton was reformulated - I owned an old bottle and now I have a new one. There is no difference in longevity for me. I don't know, maybe like 30-60 minutes less in a new one, but in 12 hours fragrance it's just mind games, I can't surely say if there is a difference.
I have no interest whatsoever in the new Dior Homme Parfum. At this point in my fragrance collecting journey, I prefer niche perfumery. I have 2 bottles of the Intense version and 3 bottles of the OG Parfum. I get change, but luckily I don't have to change my preference for the OG Parfum.
smells like every other sweet cologne on the market, huge disappointment honestly. dh 2020 was amazing and unique. this just smells like every other cologne. sweet, boring, meh.
It’s simple to use low-quality ingredients to make even more money, as if the margins in.perfumery were not already obscenely high. The solution is to leave this garbage in the shelves , and buy 1 quality perfume instead of 3 crap.
They took Lord of the Rings and gave us Rings of Power.
😂
I smelled it about 2 hours ago. Major step back. To me it smelled much cheaper, reminded me of La Male Elixir in smell and quality.
