I assume you guys are extremely tired but it seems like the trip was worth it! Very straightforward content, which makes me want to watch these videos more.
Congratulations on successfully completing this amazing trip! What an accomplishment! I'm glad that we were able to meet up in the beginning of the trip in Vancouver - let's re-connect later on once I have my Tundra TRD Pro. Talk to you very soon!
Toyota’s are such great, dependable vehicles. 10 years ago we bought a used 2000 Tundra with 90,000+ miles. We put a camper on it and drove from Palmer, Alaska to Deadhorse, AK, also on the Arctic Ocean coast on the Dawson Highway (also known as the Haul Road). No problems at all. Then back home in Palmer, after stopping by Denali National Park.
They would be if they stuck with the V8. That engine will last 100k at best. If you want a bullet proof drop deal reliable turbo charged v6, stick with Ford.
@@wizzle0979 that's funny because everyone said that about the Ford too because they switched to the v6 and i4. In reality the engine toyota put in the tundra is already proven reliable some cars using the v35a already reaching 150k miles just fine. Other than that normal turbo failure which every turbo car has.. even ford.
@@mouaxiong8618 Fords don’t have turbo failures. Only issue that Ford has is when owners don’t take care of them. Toyota on the other hand, knows nothing, NOTHING about building reliable boosted trucks
@@wizzle0979 If you ignore the first few years Ford first introduced their first years of their Ecoboost v6 3.5, They also had issues of carbon buildup.. They used BorgWarner and Garret gt1549L(? if I recall) And they all had issues before the revamp in 2017 for the new models. However in the revamp of the newer engines in the current engines they DO have Port injection too. Toyota started their v35a engines with DI and PI for their engines already. and also started this platform in 2017 just like ford in their Land cruiser which America didn't get. I'm not saying Ford can not make a proper turbo v6 as they both have issues. Both engines are open deck, Both engines uses ported and direct inject fueling and both engines uses timing chains both engines are 10.5.1 compression Toyota uses stronger connecting rods. But both engines do have problems with their EPA systems from the government Both engines are fine.
Congrats guys! Makes me want to take the trip up there one day with my kids! Thanks for all the hard work and long hours! We enjoyed the video stay safe!
Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the series. It takes a lot of work to put something like this on and you did it! Thanks for making us feel like we were right there with you on your journey! Those Tundras held up well. Way to go Toyota. Get some rest!
I’m personally very happy to watch this video I’m planning on buying a tundra , I don’t think I could’ve watched any better real life video . Once again thanks for your hard work guys . One other thing can you guys do max towing on Toyota hybrid ? And the fuel economy , and The way it hauls
I recently purchased a 2022 Toyota Tundra in Edmonton. Pick up date is early December and I cannot wait to drive up the Dempster to my hometown of Inuvik. Excellent coverage and I am creaming my jeans and very excited to actually drive my new truck. BTW I have thee best wife in all of thee world. My anniversary present will not go unnoticed in Inuvik. Yahoo Toyota Tundra 2022 Mussi Cho.
Great series! Glad you guys made it before the ice broke. This would be a perfect test for one of those offroad campers. I'm sure any of the companies would be glad to give you one to test for next year's trip!
Absolutely *love* series like this! Great big road trip adventures in winter conditions! Honestly though, I think the videos are way too short. I would seriously gladly watch hours upon hours of this type of footage. I love your guys' commentary, but there's no harm in filling the vids out with road going footage - I mean the kind where you *_don't_* have to get off and film drive by's. Just capturing the scenery, the comradery, some down-time footage (ofc you need privacy too), just any kind of footage that conveys the experience to the audience as if we were there with you guys. My point is don't be afraid to just show more "passive" footage in-between the focused, narrated segments where you break things down for us. I'm sure I speak for many others when I say we love to see more of you guys! Thanks for bringing us along on this trip, and great job on the videography I think! Looking forward to the next adventure!
Hugely entertaining series! Great watch and definitely puts Toyota on the map as one of the toughest trucks out there. On a side note, I loved that you brought a trailer along to show the importance of choosing the correct trim level for your needs.
The trucks did great and im sure this was an amazing trip to take! Id love to see this done with an f150 tremor, at4, ram rebel, and tundra trd pro all with a 5k lbs trailer to see how each of them will do.
Use to love driving roads like that in northern Maine when I was a forester up there. I had a 2001 and 2011 Tundra and they all took it well. Best type of tundra is the one covered in mud mist lol Cant wait for my 2022 Tundra!
Great series! I like that you took the time to talk about the areas you were driving through, and the explanations in French were a cool addition. On another note, your trailer tires were worn like that most likely because the axle bent at each end due to the rough road. We had light trailers at work and that happened constantly. You are correct, a commercial grade tandem axle handles rough stuff better.
Man what an epic test of a vehicle. I know it is logistically impossible to do this sort of thing often, but I would love to see all of the big truck brands run this. Great work Truck King crew!
Awesome series, and that picture of the two trucks posing next to the Artic ocean sign is epic. Toyota could use some of your pics and videos for commercials to help sell their trucks. Because I didn't want a new tundra at all, but after I finished watching this, I do now, LOL
Congratulations men, a hell of a trip. The trucks held up well and I agree with staying away from that type of trailer. Get some rest and get ready for action.
@Truck King: Excellent series! Looks like you all had a blast. The Tundra trucks seem to hold up pretty well all things considered. You brought back some memories for me, I visited Dawson City and Whitehorse back in 1984 when I was 11 years old. It does not seem like much has changed. Thanks!
That TRD pro is super nice. It’s probably the perfect balance between super capable off road and daily driver. I’m not looking for a dune racer but something capable and reliable so I’ll wait a few years for them to perfect the little details and scoop one up. If I don’t go fully electric Lordstown Endurance first. :)
What a great series of videos and an epic trip. Brought back memories from my trip to Tuk in 2004. Thanks for al your efforts in delivering awesome content!
Toyota Canada will be single handedly responsible for putting the Tundra over the top in sales of a great truck. Truck King should share the accolades of the worlds toughest testing of man and truck it's why I'm subscribed to this channel. They know durability and report on dependability. You can't get that anywhere else. TRUCK KING FOR LIFE!🥇🏆
Welcome back guys, thank you for doing this. Please help me understand; what part of this trip you felt that Tundra is needed to complete that specific part of your travel? Honestly, you made it sound like I can make this trip in my beaten up 2001 sedan!!! Thank you again.
Awesome video and beautiful shots. I’m in the market for a truck and as much as I like Toyota, it lost me on the lack of ability to fully raise the rear seats. V8 Tremor here I come :)
Congratulations guys. You deserve it. Greats videos, great adventure. You believes in your goal and you got it. I'm sure that you'll have a lot of things to tell about from your garage. I can't wait. Again congratulations. Now we know that Toyota can go from south (Texas) to North. Thank to them to lend both trucks.
The biggest thing I took away was that you should rent a vehicle rather than taking your own lol. I’ve complete the round trip from Vancouver to Whitehorse and plan on completing the trip by going from Whitehorse to Tuktoyuktok in the near future. Looks like a fun adventure.
I loved this series! You did a great job. I really wonder how much paint was missing off the rockers on that orange truck without the running boards loln
Sold! I'm buying another Tundra...but can you talk more about how the hybrid performed and mpg when not towing or on roads like the dempster? Right now I'm not feeling the hybrid...should I even consider it?
I'd love to setup a comparison between an old Tundra and a new one. Stay tuned on that. For this trip, Toyota wanted to strictly highlight the new truck. - Stephen
Question for you after this long trip… How comfortable are the seats? I’m a big guy. 6’7 350lbs. I currently drive a 4Runner and the seats are just too short for my legs. Causing back pain. I’m trading it in and currently have a 22 Rebel on order. It should be ready in the next couple weeks, but I’m worried about long term reliability. But comfort is super important as well. Should I stick with the hemi powered rebel or opt out toward a new Tundra?
Lots of Information I've been looking at the new 2022 tundra and honestly I thought the Toyota 3.5 twin turbo was just Toyotas version of the Ford Ecoboost which it probably is but I love my Ecoboost but reviews and videos are so mixed between the tundra being a good and bad truck so thanks for all the info guys

If you want a reliable truck that’ll run past 100k that is a turbo charged v6 stick with Ford.
that ice road trucker thing was excellent

Literally thought the same thing in my head as you entered the ice crossing. Haha

Sold! I'm buying another Tundra...but can you talk more about how the hybrid performed and mpg when not towing or on roads like the dempster? Right now I'm not feeling the hybrid...should I even consider it?
The hybrid wasn't designed with MPG in mind. It was designed for more power. Toyota even said that.
Wish you guys did this trip with one gen2 and one gen3 Tundra's instead of two gen3's. That would have been a way better mpg and power comparison.
I'd love to setup a comparison between an old Tundra and a new one. Stay tuned on that. For this trip, Toyota wanted to strictly highlight the new truck. - Stephen
