    I am currently in active chemo treatments and I love to crochet. I've been making hats to donate to the cancer center I go to. I just want to say , your message spoke to me this morning. Your tutorial was easy to follow and your voice is calming. Thank you and many blessings to you and yours.

    Wonderful detailed explanation but the hat was even bigger than I thought.

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  Год назад +2

      Blessings, it's not a hat. It's an xl tam cater to people with long locs or longer braids. If you want to make it smaller, you can tighten your tension, use a smaller hook, less increase rounds, and build the height of the tam you desire. I will be making a smaller tam and uploading it as soon as I can. Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it!

    Also do you chain one at the end of the last stitch or just join with a slip stitch then chain

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  11 месяцев назад +1

      Join at the 1st HDC and then Ch1, and the chain 1 doesn't count as a stitch ❤️

    I'm enjoying this while putting my squares together!! Love it (Question: 4 ply yarn, is that like a 2 weight? or do you mean 4 weight? In South Africa 4ply yarn is one size thinner than a 3 weight/Double Knit).

      Thanks so much. I think for you it's Aran/ Worsted or 10 ply 🥰 I will most definitely keep that in mind ❤

    What hook brand are you using is it Susan bates. Also the last stitch of the row do you also chain 1 or just join to the hdc

    Ok last question promise. Now wat do I do if I want it even longer?

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  11 месяцев назад

      After you do round 18, you can keep going and then come back to start decreasing the Tam. It has a nice stretch to it. If you fast forward close to the end, you see what I mean. Happy crocheting ❤

    Question: If I wanted to make an XXL Tam, would I just add more increase rows in the base?

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  Год назад +1

      Thanks so much! When I say rounds 13-18 you can do more than 18 rounds to make it a XXL. Because after that we will be starting our decrease rounds 🥰 Happy Crocheting!

    • @JessHandmadeDesigns
      @JessHandmadeDesigns  Год назад +1

      This Tam already has a nice stretch to it, so I would say 5-7 more rows ❤ to make it XXL 🥰
