I don't follow patterns and rely on wonderfully talented people like yourself to share. I followed your video and if I could I would give you a huge hug!!! you made this so easy!!! Thank you.
What an amazing tutorial! I love it. As you can see in my profile picture, I made one without the brim (will try that later) and because it, I received an amazing response to it. I am in the process of making a few more in solids, etc. Awesome. Thank you so much. I enjoy all of your tutorials.
This tutorial taught me that I have been crocheting in the wrong part of the stitch for YEARS!!! I always go through the eye of the stitch and could never figure out why my pieces came out with uneven tension. Once I started going through the top of the stitch it started to look like your's. Thank you for posting this!
Thank you so much for these videos. I have made two beautiful Tams today one for me one for my daughter I'm addicted to making them they are turning out beautifully. You are an amazing teacher. Please post more crocheting videos.
I absolutely love your videos, you're so calm and sweet. The video is very easy to follow and I liked how you said we could make them for ourselves or sell them. You're great! :)
Thanks for this tutorial. I commented on pt II as well. You are a great teacher and offered excellent tips. i learned a better way to change colors. I used the recommended I hook with red heart with love yarn. My tam was too small. I started over and used the recommended hook size for my yarn wish was a J hook and it came out perfect. I was also able to smoothly add the brim. thank you again
It's such a beautiful design! You make it look so easy lol. I'm thinking about trying to make one but I need to learn crochet first.. thank you for sharing your work.
made one! took me all day but I was being super picky and re doing it over and over. this one is perfect. thank you ~*~ you were totally right about the size. my dreads are about half the size that would fit in here, maybe even a third of the size. it's huge :::)
I 'm really into this tam! Being new to crochet and not knowing any thing about it, pushed me to wanting to make this tam so I took the time and I made it!!! It turned out perfect! I could not grasp how the brim is created . I get so many questions on where to find this hat. I even wrote out the pattern instruction . Thanks go out to you Harriet!
Thank you so much for posting! I made one in black and neon stripes yarn. It’s my favourite!❤ I think I will make one in camo colours for my fiancée please stay safe!

Grand Rising sister, I am really enjoying making your Rasta Tam! Thank you for your time and great tutorial. I would like to know what yarn you have used to make this tam. Much gratitude, health and strength ❤️💛💚
I love the look of this hat and I’ve started making two and they just aren’t coming out looking “mega”. My bf tried it on and it didn’t even cover half his locs. My stitch count is right and my hook is the same size so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Thanks for this video. Someone asked if I could make them one and I was searching for a while for a video. Also i was looking for that video you made for the schoodie please repost that I love love love your pattern there is none other I've seen on here like yours. Please please repost that video. Thanks
Hello Harriett! We spoke on the phone about a month ago. I made the rasta tam, but forget to take a picture of it before I mailed it to my customer. I made another and will send it to you. Thank you so much for calling me back.
***** I'm glad you found it easy, for a medium reduce the number of rows by 4 and for a small reduce by 5. Small/Medium are really not very different because you want to leave room for growth. Here is the link for the brim, though late ruclips.net/user/edit?o=U&video_id=orWmSdfIZpg
hello i just found your video thank you so much for showing us how to do it I have a friend that has been asking me to make him one what I was wondering is how much yarn you use for one?
Hi, the hat in this video, do you think it would fit a locks that's long to a persons ankles. or would I need to use the bigger needle and follow this video?
Hello Harriett, I simple adore this Rasta tam. I have a friend who has very long dreadlocks and has a hard time finding a tam to cover her locks. Do you have a written pattern that you would like to share so that I can follow along with your video? I would love to make a few of these for her, because Michigan winters are coming up.
Tam Witcher I do not have a written pattern at hand, I did write one sometime, I'm not sure if I still have it. How long are your friend's dreads? The tam in this tutorial will hold locks up to 55 inches which is pretty long.
I'm not certain of the length of her dreads, but from what she's told me they are at her behind. I've made 2 tams following your pattern so far & I think I need to use a larger hook. I've used an I & J hook.
What size would you do for dreads that are about 3ft long? I end up accidentally sitting on em most of the year till winter where they double as a scarf 😂
Hey Harriet this is my 5th attempt doing my hat like yours and for some reason ok that 5th round it do not fold up like yours! Is that ok? I really love this hat and my husband wants me to make him one! I'm sort of a beginner this will be my first Rasta Tam! Please help!!
thanks. you have gold hands. I want to learn how to crochet mega volumetric hats, but unfortunately there is no translation in Russian and I do not understand.
Yahyness W No, she starts in the next one. So you have the chain 3 then the next stitch you do one, then one, then two in the following stitches. Hope it helps! :)

Just wanted to kn if u did a small / med one yet? Please let me kn .thanks
On the 4th row u said, 1 dc, then 1 dc, then 2 dc. My question is when u started row 4, did u start in the same chain as the chain 3 stitch?
Should be the stitch after the chain 3.
Yahyness W No, she starts in the next one. So you have the chain 3 then the next stitch you do one, then one, then two in the following stitches. Hope it helps! :)
Thank you :-)
Where can I find 2 part
