    I feel like the 5700 XT has replaced the RX 580 as the budget king. Still 8GB of VRAM but the performance uplift is astounding (even referencing your own 5700XT video)
    In February of 2020 i bought an RX 580 8GB Sappire Nitro+ for $110 (fore the scalpers got crazy), now you can swing a 5700 XT for $130-$150.

    The fact that the RX 580 aged better than the 1060 6GB, matches performance with cards like the 5500 XT (and laughably 6500 XT), GTX 980, and 1650 Super makes it such a great budget option even well into 2023. I'm very fond of it as well, as it carried me thru the pandemic till I was able to get my hands on my 3060ti for $340 a year ago. I had the Sapphire Pulse model & it paired well with my old i7-2600K, then R5 2600, and finally R5 5600 for a month or so prior to getting the aforementioned 3060ti. I was really lucky to have gotten my 580 for $100 literally right before they skyrocketed into the $400-500 range due to the mining/scalping fiasco. Long live the old Polaris legend.

    • @NoThisIsntMyChannel

      @@NoThisIsntMyChannel well to be fair the 6700 XT was still going for $400+ where I live at the time I got my 3060ti & I only paid like $340 for it all said and done. Plus I'm only gonna hold onto this card for another year or so, I'm mainly trying to upgrade my CPU right now because it's (kinda) become a bottleneck - at least in Cyberpunk. I'm either thinking of getting a 5800x3D so I don't have to change anything else out, or a 12700K on a DDR4 Z690 board. The latter will be a bit more expensive, but I live by a Micro Center so I'll probably be able to find a combo deal or something

      @adriancioroianu1704 Год назад +4

      @@NoThisIsntMyChannel The 6700xt in 5 years will end up like the rx580 now. You'll have plenty vram compared to a 3060ti for example (the gtx1060 analogue), but who cares if you barely reach 30 fps in demanding titles. I never understood this vram argument projected into the feature. I mean yes, you'll be able to load ultra textures but you'll play the game at 25fps. So whats the point? Better enjoy what's best currently and sell every 2-3 years when the re-sale value isn't completely gone, upgrade and repeat... Don't buy gpu's now that have strengths relevant in 5 years+ compared to current competition, because by then your card will lack severely in all the other departments.

    • @couriersix2443
      @couriersix2443 Год назад

      @@adriancioroianu1704 someone else finally said it lol, nice. The whole "8GB of VRAM not being enough" controversy has seriously gotten outta hand due to so many influencers spreading FUD. It's really just like 3 games that are all very badly optimized at "ultra" 1080p texture settings. And I mean hell, the 3070ti is a stupid fast 8GB card. I wouldn't buy one, seeing as you can get better for less money now but still. It offered performance well beyond a previous gen 2080ti and I'm willing to bet most people who got one aren't so eager to upgrade from it just yet. TLDR, you're right - the 6700 XT won't be relevant forever, and while a larger memory buffer has its perks I'd much rather have whatever gives the most rasterization performance for the least amount of money I can afford

      @@arenzricodexd4409 well sure, but sometimes that means making your game look just as ugly, usually more for the same performance. I take a blurry screen and fuzzy textures if it means the game gets to run at a smooth 60 with all the settings at high/ultra.

      @@DanielFerreira-ez8qd that's part of the silly thing with upscaling. Use higher preset to increase image quality and then use upscaling that impact image quality in a negative way to push that FPS back up. There are ways to make the game just look as good as ultra, with high FPS to boot without using upscaling that have it's own issue.

    • @DanielFerreira-ez8qd
      @DanielFerreira-ez8qd 3 месяца назад

      @@arenzricodexd4409 Personally speaking, no, it's not silly at all.
      The biggest drawbacks of upscaling is general fuzziness. Effects, draw distance, SSAO and more can be cranked up to their highest settings and the only "drawback" is that some things will look a bit funky. The lower visual quality of upscaling is not even a straight negative as it can make up for a lack of AA, which you can turn off if you're using.
      Meanwhile, NOT using upscaling, I usually need to sacrifice things that are a straight negative. Losing out on effects, higher draw distance, better geometry, and ironically even image smoothness if the anti-aliasing needs to be turned off for that extra boost.
      Like, sure, when FSR and DLSS first came out they kind of sucked and only worked as a last resort for budget users and a big boost for 4K gamers, but now I really have no problems using FSR3. The only thing to actually bother me then is that hair looks real fuzzy, but I get used to it. Specially for the rx580, which is what I'm rocking right now, there really isn't a better compromise than turning on upscaling.

    I like the 580 but I feel it's age makes it a skeptical purchase. Sure $75 for what it gives is unbeatable but I feel it's still dubious how long it will receive support or be reliable. With rx 6600 being as low as $180 and the Rx 5600xt or 5700xt being around the $120-$150 mark it makes the 580 seem less and less appealing.
    I suppose if you just want a budget card that is capable of everything on the market (if barely sometimes) it truly is unbeatable value. I still think saving up for a new 6600 or trying the 5000 series from AMD or even the 20 series of RTX if you can find a good price is best when budget conscious.

    One thing i love about the 580 and the rest of the Polaris GPUs is how much you can tweak them and get some extra horsepower/lower consumption/lower temps basically for free
    Using a combination of custom drivers from AmernimeZ and a massive undervolt, i managed to get like 10+ fps in most games and got an average power consumption below 90w
    It's just an amazing card all around after tweaking it and for that low price i cant recommend it enough to anyone wanting to build a cheap gaming pc.

I was shocked to find out I can run not only gta at high or ultra on everything it runs the resident evil 4 remake better than my Xbox series S and so far runs every game I throw at it comfortably. I went with a low budget and got a ryzen 5 3600, 16 gigs ddr4 corsair vengeance ram, a 1tb Samsung NVMe ssd, and the RX 580 hoping I’d be able to play stuff on low but everything defaults to high/medium on everything except gta that went high/ultra

    Kind of random, but I think a game you should maybe consider adding to your test suite is Assetto Corsa(with mods). The reason why is not necessarily because it is a game most people would want to play, but more so because with mods it is one of the best looking and probably most demanding but still optimized games on the market(on base tracks I can run it at 60 fps mostly on my PC(its the MPG but with 16 gb of ram and an rx 570)), and it would also give people a good look at how well the system will run games with advanced physics calculations since it's a sim game.

Heck even in resident evil 4 remake while changing the amount of VRAM (for high texture) they give you sample picture how increasing the VRAM will give visible quality image improvement but when you try to look it in real time game scene it's not really there unless you play around the camera angle and try to make some object to be really close to your POV camera. But due to how the game handles the third person view in that game when you actually play the game you will not going to see many in game object that close on 99% of the time.

    A real 580 2048 SP has a unique chip with a distinct serial number from a 570... The different silicon is binned from the factory for the slightly higher clocks compared to a 570.
    Most of the remanufactured 580 SP's are really just 570's with a 580 SP BIOS applied for aftermarket overclocks.
    This is fine, if you are aware of what you are getting at a price-point... it's a minor overclock.
    But it's shady business.

You have to remember the rigs for mining would use 20+ cards. Then people would have multiple rigs going all day every day. Not that series 3000s cards second hand are free from the mining curse. Yes, Ive known people to have cards that were used on mining and nearly all of them have issues. When they re-flash the cards to sell on. Nearly all of them mess it up. run OCCT standard GPU test, adjust the percentage slider so the clocks don't drop below 1360 (or whatever it is for your card) and start decreasing the voltage after reaching max temperature until it crashes or occt throws an error, then add 10mv to your last value and keep it. You can't set voltage like 1234mv (it will likely be 1235mv irl) so look up your current voltage with hwinfo sensors or MSI afterburner (unlock voltage in settings) to adjust it better. Voltage fluctuates if the GPU is loaded (load line calibration) so stop stress tests to get proper current voltage
