I believe the 2 indents on either side of the key are made for popping it open. I used the very tip of closed needle nose pliers; place tip of pliers into the 1 of the 2 side indents, then open pliers, it will pop the case open. I tried your way with a flat head screw driver and I was stressing out the plastic case to the point of it being distorted... and it still would not open. Needle nose pliers on the side cut outs pops it right open without stressing out the case.
I also just used some needle nose pliers but I put them in the part where the actual key slides in then pinched and pulled then I grabbed my little flat head and pushed away from me with 1 of the little indents then it all came apart. Kinda sketchy but it worked
@borncomatose I tried using that key slot area, with a large flathead screw driver as shown in the video. I was using so much force that the screwdriver deformed the outer case to the point that it cracked a bit, and it still didn't pop open! The 2 side indents are the "key" to this case opening trick; no damage at all, and it popped right open.
Just insert a small pair of scissors ✂️ insert into the keyhole and gently twist to one side. Pops right off then replace the battery with the numbers facing down until it clicks. Then snap the fob back together should not have to force it
Dummy Don't do it the way he did. You can break it. Look on the sides and you will see an indent. That's where you put a little screw driver or anything that fits, then twist it open. It's bad when people give wrong advice

Yes, this video is wrong. I ended up damaging my key. You need to use those 2 indents.
