Justine - First it is cheese, then egg yolks & now you don't even like durian. I searched durian cheese eggs & it actually returned videos for durian cheese tarts and durian cheesecake. Now you have a whole new set of super nightmares to deal with.

Well I'm one to get offended abt alot of things tbh. So I'll just let them say it and then forget abt it the next day lol. I mean, we are quite small compared to Europe and stuff, so I suppose its normal for them to think like that? Idk.

Perhaps you forget that Alaska, one of the fifty United States, is located in the Arctic circle. We know where "Eskimos" live and we know that penguins are, for the most part, from the Antarctic circle. Perhaps you shouldn't assume what "Americans" know or don't know.

I am an American. I was educated in the public school system. I did not realize penguins were only in Antarctica while watching the video. I learned that reading the comments. Our schools suck. Most of us are ignorant of anything not found on a standardized test that we didn't learn on our own. And it's getting worse not better. There are whole videos dedicated to it.

That black jelly is Guilinggao, a herbal jelly that contains powdered turtle and al lot of other chinese herbs. Usually eaten with sugar syrup or honey to mask the bitter compounds.
And that Durian thing, - Lempuk, a cooked paste of durian paste, palm sugar and some flour. I love it!

I have had some of those "snacks" and even developed a taste for a few of them, but then they brought in the durian fruit and I said to myself "They're doomed. Just doomed." Martin got it in one: Abomination!

im Singaporean and ive never eaten this snacks before. the snacks shown are really traditional, only the older generations ever eat them but now, some are even modern enough to order at a macs. never heard of a herbal jelly etc.

hello from singapore. Its ok guys we dont like it either. Anything salted egg is a no for me. Its everywhere and the taste just overtakes the flavour of any dish. The prawn springroll is a festive snack not a fave. Not all Singaporean can stomach durians too.

I've never understood the salted egg yolk thing. I've seen it in England recently and I've never wanted to try it. Egg yolk is the worst part of the egg.

Eskimo is a colloquial term used to refer to the indigenous peoples who have inhabited e northern parts of Alaska and Canada as well as Greenland and the north eastern tip of Siberia. Penguins live at and near Antarctica. This puts Eskimo and penguins at opposite ends
of the Earth, so no the Eskimo do not eat Penguins. And that is the same reason Polar bears do not eat Penguins. But Eskimo do eat polar
bears.
Please don't use a racist term to refer to indigenous people. Inuit is preferred, at least in Canada where we care about not being racist. Americans still use the term Indian which I find shocking. But then Americans aren't known for caring too much about hurting brown skinned people.

You are completely correct in your main point, the Inuit and polar bears live at the North Pole, and penguins live at the South pole.

@@camac360 That was the old channel Facts. The management there actually deleted comments mentioning his personal channel. Now he is collaborating with Try, which is managed by some of the contributors and they are friends.

I always find the "durian smells like rotten flesh" interesting because to most of us, durians smell quite sweet and I personally smelled rotten flesh and it is nothing like a durian.
After you clean off the blood, it's not so bad, really..
The best way to describe the smell of durian is that it is an ethnic smell.
Basically its like the scent equivalent to differences in culture and traditions. What smells good to one culture smells bad to another durian just happens to be the biggest example of this because something out there just has to be.

Where do you write to get a date with Justine, my brother wants to know LOL. Also I ate actual durian in Singapore with a friend of mine who claims she actually enjoys eating it (of course she grew up around it, so maybe she does?).. Anyway it was horrifically, catastrophically bad! It smells like how I think the thing, that crawled up a dead things arse, and died in there might smell. It actually tasted (marginally) better than it smelled but not much, and I had to have a shower, a change of clothes and brush and mouth wash my teeth several times before I felt right again. But it begs the question, what was the first guy who ever ate it thinking, what had gone so horribly wrong in his life to try say "fuck it, I'll try it!".
