Ahh, coffee. The perfect thing to start your day! Well, what if we decided to spice things up a bit! That's just what we did by giving our lovely Irish people some weird coffee to try - including the dreaded Durian fruit making its return! Oh my!

There's a cocktail called "Irish Coffee" which, despite rumors of being a crass American invention, does seem to have originated in Ireland before going worldwide. It had a flurry of US hostess popularity (after-dinner coffee and dessert in one!) in the 1960s or thereabout. Coffee, sugar, and whiskey in a brandy snifter or similar wide glass cup, with a layer of heavy cream floated on top. (You're supposed to leave the cream in place and drink the coffee through it.)

When my sister had her first child (I was about 10 years old at the time) she would give him something called "Gripe water" to ease him when he had a stomach upset. I remember looking at the ingredients list on that once and it was about 90% alcohol!

1 ¾OZ Baileys Original Irish Cream
1cup Hot Coffee
1cup Hot Milk
8 Peanut Butter Cups, chopped and melted
2 tbs Creamy Peanut Butter
Whipped cream, for garnish
Shaved chocolate, for garnish
Whole peanut butter cups, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
1 Combine 1 ¾ oz Baileys Original Irish Cream, 1 cup hot coffee, 1 cup hot milk, 8 melted peanut butter cups and 2 table spoons peanut butter in a blender.
2 Blend until combined.
3 Pour into mugs and garnish with whipped cream, shaved chocolate and whole peanut butter cups.
