    Why so fast? I’m sure Chopin wouldn’t complain if many of his pieces included this one, were played at 0.75 of the tempo you chose….
    Less impressive maybe
    More expressive certainly
    More pleasing to the ear definitely.

      I realise the tempo of Chopin's music is a contentious issue! It's a pity that Chopin isn't alive today so that we can double check his intentions. Problem is that Chopin specifically indicated this fast tempo on the score (crotchet equals 112 beats per minute). In addition to the specific metronome marking he ALSO wrote 'Allegro Assai' which means 'very fast'. Pianists are in a tricky situation if we wish to remain authentic to the composer's wishes. Thanks for your comment. There are different views on this and It's a tricky one.
