There’s a way easier way to remove the coupling with a piece of unistrut and all tread. I wish i could explain but next time I do one I’ll send pictures good stuff
I've used a Posi Lock puller and almost messed the shaft up getting these pos Couplings off. I even bent the OEM puller from frick. But I'm up for suggestions. If you're thinking of a 6 " piece of unistrut with 2 all threads going to the coupling with a skinny block on the shaft we've done that. We have one more of these. I'll take a video with your suggestions and the if all fails we'll use the cut off wheel again. Lol.
@craigforster9861 I have this set but from Mac tools. I bent this set on the other compressor we did with the same coupling. www.amazon.com/Yoursme-Pulley-Puller-Protector-Pulleys/dp/B091TPMYVZ/ref=asc_df_B091TPMYVZ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=507996238788&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6815219811732105216&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9031442&hvtargid=pla-1328435074203&psc=1&mcid=4a1c512800693a9bb4c0ed1e88abc523&gclid=Cj0KCQiApOyqBhDlARIsAGfnyMojCf2F6sIV-6_1oh0g6A6tcpqH-3-Ljf95GxP4U_O7_1T0QFvmY_8aAv_lEALw_wcB
I wouldn't be proud of myself on that coupling removal. I am retired and I still have the equipment to due the removal. I like you stuff but that was bad.Still have my dial indicator.
I worked on Trane and Carrier open compressors. Thomas coupling were aligned with dial indicator. No laser yet. Woods type gear coupling were done with a good straight edge since halfs were cast. My old boss didn't like the way I spent his money on pullers but the jobs got done faster. I really enjoy your videos. Stay safe
@craigforster9861 I've only had to cut Couplings off 2 times. The first time the coupling welded itself to the shaft due to improper grounding. This destroyed the compressor as well. Then we have this video. I have a couple of pullers, but the 2 that fit were about to snap, and the other one is a Posi Lock 10". We could have pulled the motor, but I didn't have the gantry that day. Lol. I'll share a video on my pullers and alignment tools in the near future. Thanks for the feedback.
Too bad I'm on the east coast I would teach you how to fit a coupling. I don't know refrigeration like you but I would never due what you do to flex coupling.
Yeah those couplings are a bitch... I use a OTC 522 Puller with threaded rods that go through the coupling bolt holes. I have a modified short screw that fits between the 2 shafts to use on those exact conpressors. Can have the coupling off the shaft in 2 minutes. No more frustrations with long pry bars lol 😂. Fyi sched 80 1" pipe make for a shit pry bar bends like wet spaghetti!! I can send you a picture of the set up if you would like.
I have a puller with a 3/4" screw and 3 rods. I bent the last coupling trying to get these off. This was the last one of 3 compressors. But I would love to see your set up. Please send the the channels email.
Awesome video! I deal with mechanical seals a lot and these videos help me understand the equipment they're going into much better. 👍
Just started as an apprentice. This is so helpful thank you for this.
This is the kind of videos I like to see great work.
Thanks Daniel! Be safe out there. Enjoy a much needed Thanksgiving 😊 appreciate the video!
Love it ❤ zero to no room and just you with a ton of patience keep up the good content 🔥🤙🏼
Thanks
Dang bro you’re still there 👏🏽 one of my old technicians told me you had a you tube channel. I had a feeling it was you 😂
Yep still here and it's me. Lol
Great videos. Keep up the good work
In the past I’ve used the threaded rod connectors ( looks like a long nut ) and bolts and used them as jacks to remove stubborn coupling’s
Send some pics to my email.

Have you ever been able to remove a leaking shaft seal , clean it up , replace o -rings re - oil and re- use ? Or best to replace
@locklyn9572 only when i cant get another seal. its best to replace it if you can.
Можно шлифовать кольца на притирочной плите. Работает как новое
so, what exactly happened here? what are the results of a failed seal?
Wear and tear.
thanks for sharing
Great job 👍
If you pulled out motor outside it will be easy for you
Yes it would. Lol
What brand is that pry bar I have to get me one. Great video your a spectacular mechanic
Westward is the solid prybar and the adjustable one is Mac. Gearwrench sells the same on for $70
Great work daniel now i see why everyone is calling you for the answers. 😂 did you stop making videos, though? Your newest one is about 5 months ago.
Just been Busy. I've started up again. Thank you.
Aye dude should I stay in industrial Freon systems or jump to ammonia I’m scared..
As long as you stay scared of it, you'll always respect it. You'll be fine. Jump into Ammonia.
I would like to see a video to replace bearings for a frick RGC 2313 , if someone have one please let me know

OTC shaft protectors spread the load out on the shaft. Less chance of motor or compressor shaft damage.
@@craigforster9861 I have a set of those. They fit the pullers super nice.

This still isn't helping. I guess you're all talk. Lol
Would you use your dial indicator to align this C Flanged compressor to the motor?
