- Hi folks, here is a short video on how to build a wooden dumbbell and weight plate rack yourself. The only sophisticated tools I´ve used are a (consumer) drill press stand and a plunge router. All angled cuts where made with a little handsaw, some cuts with a (consumer) jigsaw.

This is the best diy rack I have ever seen. I like it. I'm going to modify your design a bit and make my own. I'm going to add something on the side to hold up my barbells

Fantastic use of joinery. To many of these rely on screws. People don’t have a good understanding of sheer strength of mechanical fasteners.

I wish you'd sell the parts, so I could only assemble at home after purchase.. ugh im not that crafty..no i actually am but i cannot measure at all let alone make pieces that fit that well together without screws and stuff.. nice job, love it!

What are all the measurements in? Centimeter? I'm trying to adjust with the size and heights.

Hey man. I love what you've done there! The best DIY rack I've seen so far and 100% what I've been looking for. I appreciate your drawings, however, may I kindly ask you if would be possible for you to share the actual measurements and dimensions of the cuts and the rest so others like myself can try to build it too? I am not really that experienced with sush things but I am willing to try and that will be massive help! Thank you sharing!
Hey, thanks Sergey. Unfortunately, I don´t have my drawings any more, I built this rack quite a while ago. But the height (front edge) is 60cm, the lenght is 125cm. But: I find it not long enough, today. I would recommed to make it longer, perhaps 150cm. The beams are 74x74mm strong. The design has proven to be solid, no issues with stability.

Ich hänge da bis zu 40 Kilo hin, das tragen die ohne Probleme. Durch das ständige abnehmen und aufschieben bleiben die Alurohre allerdings nicht tadellos sauber, es entstehen so dunkle Schleifspuren Von den Gussscheiben.

You drawings are a little tough to make out. Can you provide clearer drawings with measurements for each piece?
Hi John, that is a good idea, I was already thinking about how to diplay measurements while cutting the video. Unfortunately I do not have drawings for each part and other obligations hinder me from making them now. But I would recommend on the other hand, to choose your personal measurements based on your height and especially the diameter of your weight plates. Thats pretty relevant for the distance between the pins as well as the two horizontal beams.
I understand. I really like your end pieces. Much cleaner than most designs. I can play around with it and come up with something similar, but prefer the lazy approach...…..just stealing them from your drawings. Thanks for putting this out there.

Yeah, thats true. Plunge router (aprox 90 Euro), jigsaw and drill-press (Wolfcraft, 65,- Euro) as the less common tools are quite important here.
