    The beautiful thing about podcasts like this is that- is that it reveals the vast population of people starving for ideas and intellectual conversation.

    • @DrCruel
      @DrCruel 18 дней назад

      That's on purpose. The ruling managerial elite has been deliberately acting to silence free debate. These conversations influence what the public believes and thinks about, which interferes with how this elite is terraforming the new social fabric to their benefit, so they are making a considerable effort to stifle and control it.

      Ferguson is an apologist and enabler for a full blown fascist, Donald J. Trump, who in January 2020 tried to carry out an insurrection, perhaps the greatest crime ever committed in America. And Ferguson starts off by saying that Harris is the illegitimate candidate in this Presidential election. That is sick beyond words.

      Well, I don't think one has to be conservative to vote for Trump, or see what damage the lefties are doing in the West.
      Many libs refuse to see it. A lot of them really do have what is called "TDS". I have examples of it.
      I have always considered myself independent, lib, or centrist, depending on the issues...These days if one veers anywhere "right of center" or left, there are plenty of people who automatically label one "right wing", or make the oh, so typical quip..."You should stop watching Fox News."
      I have had that stated to me on occasion, and I rarely watch Fox News.
      It's a condescension of course.
      It's a common reflex in these parts of the U.S.

    I LOVE these discussions. They are an oasis of eloquence and insight in this, otherwise, sea of chaotic doubletalk and confusion.

      Yes if confusion for you means watching the slaughter of young kids and not having any moral qualms about it

    I had a friend in Australia since 2005 that ask me what I thought about the genocide of the Palestinian people. I was appalled. He is a 77 year old originally from Ireland. I am a 73 year old American. I was a defence contractor working in Townsville for the Australian Army when I met him. We have talked a couple of times since he ask that question. I did let him know that I didn't agree on that description of the situation in Gaza. For some crazy reason I thought most people in the UK and Australia were very wise like these two fellows. After working in Australia for a year I realized they are just like the US. Many misinformed by their news media. They don't have the ability determine they are being lied to either. What a shame.

      Another Irishman here, residence in East Coast of USA atm. Due to our history we won't ignore genocide nor apartheid rule. Balfour's legacy is common to the Irish and Palestinians.

    Well done John on your commitment to your podcast and RUclips channel. It is great to see in your guest Niall an academic with a balanced and objective view of life and politics.
    The damage that the antisemitic and anti-Israel rights on US universities has caused to the reputation of those universities cannot be underestimated. It is welcome to learn that his initiative in establishing a new university of Austin is moving forward.

    Interesting conversation. There is, imo, a direct connection between woke activism and Islamism through Edward Said's work Orientalism.

    What a difference in people’s reaction on this program and on Mr Ferguson addressing CIS Consilium yesterday! I am really having difficulty to see “open exchange of ideas” in comments of CIS viewers. For a while I felt that common sense is lost and the world is doomed. Thanks to viewers of this program for giving me back some hope.
