  • In this video we’re going to be looking at Damir Puskar’s heroic match vs. Spain! Analyzing his performance and trying to learn from his futsal Goalkeeping.
He’s the National Goalkeeper for Slovenia, he’s 29 years old.
    180cm tall which is 5ft 11.
This is footage from Slovenia vs Spain in a FIFA World Cup Playoff match in Maribor on the 22nd March 2016.
Key Strengths and what we can learn:
    Futsal Goalkeeper positioning.
    Reactions.
Recovery after the first save in order to save rebounds.
Keeping your eye on the ball.
When to use the futsal block save, and when to use the futsal split save.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve found this useful and would like to see more of this in game analysis. And yes, I’ll be doing mine in the future. I will be recording my next game for you guys.

This is an EPIC video, man. Great comments, only shot you didn't mention was his nice "dive save" at 2:40, which was also beautifully done. I loved this kind of content, well done!

Wow - that really was legendary. I'm a coach & I live in Canada, futsal's a relatively new sport here without a lot of coach education so I've found your videos really useful. Thanks & keep up the good work!

Great video, David. Hope u will do some analysis on more goalkeeping legends and stars like Mustafa Nazari, Paco Sedano or perhaps Luis Amado. I studied this video thousands of times and it did improve my form overall.
I noticed that a few blokes here does highlight "he uses no gloves". Well, i am a glove user and being a smaller guy, using gloves does improve my confidence and also helps to protect my fingers. And my ball distribution doesnt affected much with the usage of gloves. David had posted a video about that, too

nice format mate! I would have liked to see more explanations for saves like the one at 3:20 (as we can discuss a lot on when he is going back and why, im not sure that was the best strategy), but video and channel are both nice.
Are you ok? What about your injury? I'm a gk too, I'm so sorry :((

It's a bit stupid question, but can you explain where in a smaller gym is the area where you can take the ball into your hands?Sorry that i have forgotten the english name for it:O
I ask this because there is always a issue and i have got a penalty against my team because of nobody knew where this area ends or begins.(But i have saved the penalty;-) )

I like how he just tapes up some fingers and doesn't use gloves. Gloves are slippery and don't really reduce pain, as useless as plastic shin guards.

This is amazing, Damir is a great shot-stopper on his own but it would be amazing if you also comments on his ability to direct his defenders too since I think it is also an essential skill to be learned
