Just to temper your expectations, but Oda(series creator) has been pretty clear for a long time that romance amongst the crew is not happening. They’re a family.

Well, we saw Shanks One shot Kid and we know Mihawk is comparable to Shanks. So I would say Mihawk is around Yonko level in strength.

It was quite endearing, how confident Luffy was trying to skip paying for the meal.
There's certainly a friendship starting to develop between Helmeppo and Koby and the way it just evolves so naturally, with small lines and little pieces of wisdom being offered - it feels really good. On the other hand, Garp keeps teaching Koby new things, even if the latter has a hard time accepting them.
After seeing what Mihawk can do when he was introduced earlier in this episode...I gotta say Zoro was bursting with confidence when he challenged him. Mihawk really wasn't kidding when he said he doesn't hunt rabbits with a cannon...schooled Zoro with a letter opener, let them all go after that and left like a complete badass.
You weren't dramatic at all, your emotions show just how much you care about the characters and how invested you are into the show.
Regarding the viceadmiral knowing or not knowing if he's after his grandson, remember what he asked Mihawk in this episode: to bring him back alive.

@@acehunt0403 You see, I wanna agree with that but considering everything that comes later I wanna say like 1% max or even the same as the rest of the fight but using Yoru to show Zoro the utter abyss in skill and power between them at that time. "Break and wither or rise above this defeat and find me, ultimately as you are now ... I don't care."
I just finished watching the last episode yesterday & loved the entire Season. I was worried that it would be difficult for Netflix to adapt 60 half hour anime episodes into just 8 hour long live action episodes, but this is definitely 1 of the best anime adaptations ever, & it does the manga & anime proud.
It's not adaptation of the anime. They made it clear that it's an adaptation of the Manga. The anime unnecessary drag out scenes and repeat the flashbacks too much.

It’s fine to ship characters but don’t expect them to be together, the author made it clear that romance is a very, very minor part of the series compared to the bigger picture and rather it keep it that way.
Well not really minor, it's still big just not IN the strawhats, but OUTSIDE is where we get juicy
@@lightningjadejavier I mostly remember Rebecca’s parents, that guy who dresses like a baby, this one couple from a filler arc who fights while ice skating, maybe Yamato and Ace and occasionally characters having crushes on the Straw hats like Hancock, Pudding and Kaya. Not saying romance isn’t steamy, just little of it compared to the series length.

Not just that, but Sanji and Pudding, who might be endgame. In the manga's cover stories, Pudding punches Sanji's brothers in the face because of how they treated Sanji. She really loves him. @@ghostspider2056

To be fair, Zoros more like a lvl 10 or 15 with 1 rare sword and Mihawk is more like a lvl 100 with bonus power lvls and legendary gear.

@@sl1159 Zoro has been training since childhood in a school. Since then he's been taking down enough bounties in the East Blue to earn the title Demon Pirate Hunter. He HAS some experience but just not on Mihawks lvl. Mihawk is the 1 who capped ages ago and is bored out of his mind.
This series is so cool. Every episode is better than the previous.

Keep in mind that One Piece specifically shows how much of a difference old age does to a character. The Garp here is weakened from age, but that cannonball he throws, in the anime, was said to have been shot faster than even those fired from a cannon.
In fairness, Zorro needed a bit of a reality check. I think they all did. Mihawk is one of the strongest guys in the world, and he was only flexing the barest fraction of his strength there (if he'd wanted to, he could have sliced Zorro, and the entire restaurant in half). They needed to be shown that, in the Grand Line, they're still just pipsqueaks. And just how much growing they still have to do.
Otherwise, they might walk blindly into things that they need a bit of foresight for.
If you're already so emotional about Zoro's fight against Mihawk, wait until the next 2 episodes ! Sanji is gonna become one of your all time favorites.
And bring tissues. Lot of it !
The world building and characters building of the original manga is one of the finest in the fiction storytelling world, and this series is doing a great job at adapting it !

Hi Magy, i finished watching the eight episodes 3 days ago, at the beginning I wasn't very convinced about the live action, but I changed my mind episode after episode, it was incredible, I didn't expect all this work for this series, it was nice to see all the dialogues and fights, everything the same, Garp will actually meet Luffy only in Water 7 after the events of Enies Lobby, I'm at episode 340 and I imagine what awaits me in the other 734 episodes, I love this anime too much

Minor detail: usopp is the first one that said the name baratie when they are just barely out of fog and away from the restaurant. Don't sleep on the sniper king.

Kreig who mihawk unalived was actually the main villain for the baratie arc. Who luffy fought. We also never saw when mihawk decimated the fleet we only heard so this was a fun addition. Additionally the guy who came in and ate the fried rice was part of kriegs crew and a scout he had conflict with sanjis character.
The guy in the pink hair and the blonde at the table is a nod to the anime as that was a marine person tryna inpress the woman with his know how but sanji upshowed up.

Not really that offensive Mihawk is strongest swordsman in the world, Zoro here is like a 8 years old, not to mention Mihawk holds currently one of biggest bounty in world so basically he is like top 5 strongest people up to date

"Warlord of the sea" is an far too small title for Mihawk. He's wayyyyyyyy above league compared to other 6 warlord
He's easily the strongest warlord if you don't count Teach, it's debatable.

@@pahan131 The Yami Yami is strong against anybody not just fruit users, he can still pull Mihawk with vortex there's just nothing to nullify, but using vortex and the Gura Gura in conjunction is deadly, if BB managed to consume Yoru than Mihawk is kinda screwed.

that black pirate at 14:00 is the only survivor of the crew mihawk we see destroying earlier in the episode but this is something you find out in the manga and anime it isnt in the show.

The main gripe in this episode was the lack of tears. Waterfall tears. Like in the manga/anime. Zoro, though good here, was alot more emotional. This is also the start of keeping Zoro handicapped in every fight. So, when he wins. Remember, he's handicapped.

Well, be careful what you wish for. 😊 But interesting to say in the episode that introduces Sanji, whose main weakness is always the attractive ladies.
I wonder if the live action show will try to work in the hearts in his eyes somehow, or if that's just too cartoony.

People are shipping characters all the time in anime. The only spoiler I will give is that because it's a live action they toned it down on everything and the anime/manga has more of everything which is why I they need to be creative if season 2 gets green lit because there is a lot there and sfuff was left out and changed for the live action which is alright and I'm glad so many are enjoying it, but some things you can't cut that cost a lot maybe change.

Garp is his grandfather, vice admiral of the navy and representative of the World Government. His father is Monkey D. Dragon, who leads the Revolutionary Army fighting the World Government. The identity of his mother remains unknown , though he is known to have had a foster mother. He has no biological siblings (as far as we know), but he does have two "sworn" brothers, Ace and Sabo. He grew up with them and were so close they made a pact to be closer than brothers for life

lol why do you want baby luffy to be a pirate? Garp wanted him to be a marine because it's a government job fighting for justice but corrupt.. few people are good though like Coby.. Pirate is not a job bit being a thief, robber and murderer.. means a criminal but very few of them are good.. same goes for warlords like Mihawk.. and you will find one more category but that will be one side
