I didn't cry, even barely reacted to Sanji's goodbyes to Zeff and the Baratie crew, it made me cry ah in the LA Same for the barrel scenes, in the manga it had me smiling a lot, but not tearing up of joy like the live-action did Also I'm a manga reader, can't stand japanese people just screaming all the time for no reason, they do that too much in OP

The guy playing Luffy is kinda perfect. He actually has the ability to be both the happy-go-lucky no care in the world guy but also look seriously dangerous when angry. This is not an easy thing to pull off. Most carefree goofy characters just look silly when they try to look intense. This man does not. #Respect
The story would have been very different if Garp had known of the level of Marine corruption in East Blue. The man could have cleared Arlong Park all by himself.
Garp is one of the most powerful characters in the entire series. They nerfed him super hard in the show. Oda didnt want Garp to show up as much in the show but the showrunner convinced him to allow it.

The man purposefully created the most optimistic, dream-pushing and fun-loving character in existence precisely because he wanted to push Japanese people, usually stuck in a society with dreadful working conditions to follow their dreams more. He is, in a sense, the living embodiment of "follow your dreams, and life will reward you" as we could see with the immense success his work has been getting for the past 2 decades ! It's such a miracle that this series now manages to recapture that magic of the early years of the manga, and translate it so well in live action. Matt Owens, one of the showrunners, has said one of the reasons he wanted to run this show was because it was ultimately a story about going after your dreams, which is a perfect story for the rather depressing times we're living in. In such troubled periods, with climate change, economic recession, social troubles, and the looming threat of an all-out war, having such a simple yet unadulterated story about optimism and going after your dreams hits all the more in the feels, and this series is the living embodiment of "comfort food for the soul" ! If you feel like you need your fix, you can re-watch the series, but this time in the Japanese dub ! All the OG voice actors from the anime came back to dub the japanese version, and it's WILD ! Past the first 2 minutes when it sound a bit weird, you get into it, and it just feels like you're watching a live action anime ! It's the weirdest satisfying feeling ever ! Also, you can watch the reactions of the Sorta Stupid channel, they're a bunch of hardcore OnePiece fans who are geeking over everything and anything that happens on screen and watching their reaction will undoubtfully put a smile on your face, and give you some extra details on what you might have missed at first screening. Anyway, it's been a blast seeing you react to this series ! You can follow your dreams even the society is against you.. thats whats luffy has been to when garp trying to impose to him his beliefs and the norms.. zeff told sanji that having a dream is one thing, pursuing it and going for it is another.. lots of lessons in this series, sometimes we outgrew our dreams because the societies pressure, to pay bills,work,have a family etc. But now those who goest against societies norm to follow their dreams are the one im impressed in real life, no matter what other people say to them..

There’s no love triangle, there’s nothing between Zoro and Nami. The author has said multiple times there’s no romance building between the crew. Sanji just respects all woman, won’t even harm them even if they’re evil.

Im glad people who dont watch anime get to experience at least a part of One Piece :D Maggy since you like anime I can only recommend you continue the whole series in the anime :D There are so many beautiful moments that cant fit all in the Live Action, but if its too many Episodes to you then the live action is fine :)
An interesting detail about the character Sanji that may go unnoticed at first glance, he only fights using his feet, as his hands are very precious to him because of cooking
The flashback at the start, with Nami captive, forced to draw maps for Arlong, it makes his betrayal cut that much more deep. Captain Nezumi played the mole role almost too well. Very frustrating to see him trying to blame Luffy and his team for the brutal attacks on the villagers. The friendly competition between Zoro and Sanji is just perfect, they're both hilarious and endearing. Buggy being Buggy, he took off as soon as he got his body back, typical clown behaviour. Usopp finally showing just how good a marksman he is, that was really satisfying to watch. Luffy's idea to destroy Arlong's keep instead of trying to beat him was so good, I really liked to watch everything crumble. By standing up against Garp's orders, Koby and Helmeppo finished their character arcs this season beautifully. That was a chilling moment, when Garp finally saw the resemblance between Luffy and Gold Roger. Luffy was so happy to finally get his "WANTED" poster! The look of excitement and happiness on Shanks' face when he saw the poster, that was definitely the most beautiful scene in this episode but the reveal of Nami's tangerine trees on the ship and their new flag were close seconds. 11:15 : All the technik Sanji used are some french words about food. And there is no love between the crew (even if Sanji are in love of every women) and Oda tell to the netflix crew to not put some romance/love between the crew or there will not have One Piece Live Action.
In original, Luffy yelled "You're MY crew!" and I know some people wouldn't like that coz people is not property and all, but I myself prefer the original one. Luffy in manga is sooo laidback he doesnt care about people's problem unless that problem affect his friends. Times when he shows his possesiveness over his crew always touch me. In addition, the crew also has similar feeling over him. there are some situation where they're like, "MY/OUR Captain" and that's always make me giddy that the feeling is mutual
Loved your reaction. About what you said at the end, you should watch at least the anime equivalent of this part of the story, and after that is in your hand to keep watching. But it would be interesting to see someone who meet the series by the live action comparing the source material, because there are big changes that make it x100 times more emotional, funny and epic.

In the anime, the only reason Luffy gives when Arlong asks why they're attacking his park, he just says "You made Nami cry!!" They cut some out in these last two episodes.... the battle with Krieg at the restaurant, and Nami's sister getting shot.. But still well done for the show.
Loved your reactions to this series! I love your energy as a reactor and really hope you pick up the anime! The heart and soul of this story is present even 1000+ episodes later, and the journey only gets more and more magical and deep over time. YOU WILL CRY MORE, that's a promise 🤣🤣
For sure, watch the anime. It is available on the same platform you watched it on. You will probably reach the episodes between 500-800 (One Piece anime) episode by the time the second season comes out.
Its an excellent way to get people interested in the story. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-) The live action show exceeded all of our expectations. They picked a perfect cast, kept the story similar, but changed a few things just to keep budgets and the pacing consistent. The anime and manga can get away with more because they don't have a special effects budget. Even the japanese voice actors for the anime were involved. The japanese language option for the audio lets you hear those voice actors. Everyone involved did a fantastic job, loves the material, and it all shows.

Honestly, I have to say the last scene with the barrel impressed me more than any other scene. On paper, this should have been a painfully cringe scene in Live Action, and ending the season on that was risky. Not only was it not cringe, but it was genuinely emotional to watch - the interspersing of their kid versions saying their dreams added so much to the scene. I think it invoked that inner child we all have, that dared to dream big dreams. There was something cathartic about seeing all 5 crewmates double-down on those dreams, and makes me want to do that with my own inner child ngl. I want a second season, and a longer one too
The best part is they didn't plan for the kid versions to show until the editor edited them in on their own, and showed it to the director who then green-lit it.
If you don't want to wait for season 2, just go watch the anime. Obviously you are gonna get frustated by the pacing, some episodes BUT the story is so good I recommend japanese dub for the anime. Season 2 script is already written, they just need to film it and obviously, the strikes still goin on. But when the strikes end, they will start filming i think
The way you felt about one piece for the first time is completely justified! Let's just say that this is just the beginning of the emotional roller coaster ride within one piece.

I fucking love this show. I cannot seriously believe they pulled it off. And in some cases, it hit me even harder emotionally than the comic. Maybe becauae im older now. Like, even if they didnt do another season, i would be happy with this one. It captures just about everything that makes One Piece great.
The live action was surprising good but some scenes didn't capture the emotion same as the anime like when zeff said goodbye to sanji, Zoro making vow to be the greatest swordsman and when shanks gave luffy the infamous strawhat.
We can't tell you about next events and I hope all people could watch it in live action now on. There is always anime and manga but honestly I wanna watch this several seasons and more

There is no love triangle among the Strawhats. The creator, Eiichiro Oda, has stated before that there will NEVER be any romance going on between members of the crew. Sanji is just a guy who flirts with anybody but thats the extent of it in terms of who is on the crew. They also even revealed that one of the major things Oda PUSHED HEAVILY for the Live Action was to make sure nobody on the crew gets into a relationship as well. It was one of the requirements for his blessings and help. So in terms of members on the crew, keep in mind none of them will be romantically involved AT ALL with one another
Highly recommend watching the anime as well. The largest complaint is just the length, and honestly the complaint makes no sense to me. Usually the problem with really really good stories is that you feel empty at the end and you feel it was too short. One Piece solves this problem by being long and good all the way, and it currently the best it's ever been, which is unusual since shows usually get a lot worse as they go on. Also, the author is literally a genius at writing in emotion. The emotions come through the screen for real. One Piece is something special I highly recommend watching the full thing, even if it takes you 8 months - 2 years, it's worth the journey. Def best story i've ever experienced.

By standing up against Garp's orders, Koby and Helmeppo finished their character arcs this season beautifully.
That was a chilling moment, when Garp finally saw the resemblance between Luffy and Gold Roger.
Luffy was so happy to finally get his "WANTED" poster!
The look of excitement and happiness on Shanks' face when he saw the poster, that was definitely the most beautiful scene in this episode but the reveal of Nami's tangerine trees on the ship and their new flag were close seconds.

In a sense he’s not wrong, the grand line is dangerous. Not to mention, “a whole new world” 🎶 full of adventure.
In original, Luffy yelled "You're MY crew!" and I know some people wouldn't like that coz people is not property and all, but I myself prefer the original one.
Luffy in manga is sooo laidback he doesnt care about people's problem unless that problem affect his friends. Times when he shows his possesiveness over his crew always touch me. In addition, the crew also has similar feeling over him. there are some situation where they're like, "MY/OUR Captain" and that's always make me giddy that the feeling is mutual
Nice ending, the season summarizes all the backstories of the main characters. It also give us the overview of the whole One Piece Story.
Loved your reaction. About what you said at the end, you should watch at least the anime equivalent of this part of the story, and after that is in your hand to keep watching. But it would be interesting to see someone who meet the series by the live action comparing the source material, because there are big changes that make it x100 times more emotional, funny and epic.

In the anime, the only reason Luffy gives when Arlong asks why they're attacking his park, he just says "You made Nami cry!!"
They cut some out in these last two episodes.... the battle with Krieg at the restaurant, and Nami's sister getting shot..

Its an excellent way to get people interested in the story. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-) The live action show exceeded all of our expectations. They picked a perfect cast, kept the story similar, but changed a few things just to keep budgets and the pacing consistent. The anime and manga can get away with more because they don't have a special effects budget. Even the japanese voice actors for the anime were involved. The japanese language option for the audio lets you hear those voice actors. Everyone involved did a fantastic job, loves the material, and it all shows.

I am also new to OP and am more than amazed by what i saw! Such a happy story.
Honestly, I have to say the last scene with the barrel impressed me more than any other scene. On paper, this should have been a painfully cringe scene in Live Action, and ending the season on that was risky.
Not only was it not cringe, but it was genuinely emotional to watch - the interspersing of their kid versions saying their dreams added so much to the scene. I think it invoked that inner child we all have, that dared to dream big dreams. There was something cathartic about seeing all 5 crewmates double-down on those dreams, and makes me want to do that with my own inner child ngl.
I want a second season, and a longer one too
The best part is they didn't plan for the kid versions to show until the editor edited them in on their own, and showed it to the director who then green-lit it.
If you don't want to wait for season 2, just go watch the anime. Obviously you are gonna get frustated by the pacing, some episodes BUT the story is so good
I recommend japanese dub for the anime. Season 2 script is already written, they just need to film it and obviously, the strikes still goin on. But when the strikes end, they will start filming i think
The way you felt about one piece for the first time is completely justified! Let's just say that this is just the beginning of the emotional roller coaster ride within one piece.

I fucking love this show. I cannot seriously believe they pulled it off. And in some cases, it hit me even harder emotionally than the comic. Maybe becauae im older now. Like, even if they didnt do another season, i would be happy with this one. It captures just about everything that makes One Piece great.
the best thing you can do is watch the part of the anime what they adapt, there is a lot of new parts on that media.
The live action was surprising good but some scenes didn't capture the emotion same as the anime like when zeff said goodbye to sanji, Zoro making vow to be the greatest swordsman and when shanks gave luffy the infamous strawhat.
20+ years later, Magy will continue to cry her eyes out watching One Piece the live series. 🤣
And the thing is... all the emotional scenes shown this season hits way harder in the anime. Imagine that.

Very nice reaction finally people experience one piece , the anime hit the feels harder tou , and there always be sweet wholesome moment like these , you can start watch anime it is long episode but it would be nice content since it long so you would never ran of idea what to watch ,do not affraid start the anime it isnlong but no need to rush I believe in no time you would catch up the episode , and reminder for 1-50 episode its kinda old animation you need to get used to it since you watch better animation like demon slayer and AOT , but soon its getiing better and 1000 episode would never enough

Each anime episode is about 22 minutes each of story telling but you could read the manga which take abuut 5 minutes or less per chapter.

There is no love triangle among the Strawhats. The creator, Eiichiro Oda, has stated before that there will NEVER be any romance going on between members of the crew. Sanji is just a guy who flirts with anybody but thats the extent of it in terms of who is on the crew.
They also even revealed that one of the major things Oda PUSHED HEAVILY for the Live Action was to make sure nobody on the crew gets into a relationship as well. It was one of the requirements for his blessings and help. So in terms of members on the crew, keep in mind none of them will be romantically involved AT ALL with one another

Highly recommend watching the anime as well. The largest complaint is just the length, and honestly the complaint makes no sense to me. Usually the problem with really really good stories is that you feel empty at the end and you feel it was too short. One Piece solves this problem by being long and good all the way, and it currently the best it's ever been, which is unusual since shows usually get a lot worse as they go on. Also, the author is literally a genius at writing in emotion. The emotions come through the screen for real. One Piece is something special I highly recommend watching the full thing, even if it takes you 8 months - 2 years, it's worth the journey. Def best story i've ever experienced.
