    Before I watch this video to the ending I had to place this reaction: It is nice that you are not only a trumpet player, but also a producer and a man of life knowledge. That whole thing makes these videos an interesting thing to watch, and also, this is totally different from the other video's on the RUclips platform. So that I had to say, now I'm gonna watch further!

    Hey dB - just stumbled across your channel, it's so epic, especially the midi controller/evi, really opening the horizon for me ^__^. One thing you might consider scoping, the Roland VT-4, I use it with a goose neck microphone so it's a small and portable unit to work with. It's a vocoder, so you can lock in a key, then there are an array of different effect types, including harmony, that can be added and stacked. It also has a pitch slider and formant slider, pitching down an octave really brings a massive sound. There is also a balance slider, which I find really handy for brining the sound in and out when playing. It has pretty tight reverb settings as well, I usually work with a dubby delay. If I really want to get into interesting sounds, I'll then run the VT- 4 through a KP3+. In any case, love your work.

      @@AllThingsBrassAndTechnology Hi thanks for this informative video.
      At 6:00 in you play ptich shift
      It kind of sounds like a chord. The H9 is kind of expensive.
      Do you think there are any other pitch shifters or harmonizer boxes that might not have all the other effects but be cheaper just to get that one effect
      or is there something special and particular about the way it's done on the H9?
      Also how man notes is it adding to your trumpet?

    • @AllThingsBrassAndTechnology
      @AllThingsBrassAndTechnology  Год назад

      Hi dB here. I have the H9 Max which comes with all the algorithms and is the most expensive. You can buy the H9 basic model that is considerably cheaper and just purchase whatever algorithms you like instead of buying the max with all the algorithms. Hope this makes sense. For pitch shifting I believe that the H9 is the best. Warm regards.

      Hi dB here, thanks for watching. If I could only have one pedal, it would be the Eventide H9. If I could have two pedals, it would be the Eventide H9 and a wah wah pedal. If I could have three pedals, it would be the Eventide H9, Empress Effects Zoia and a wah-wah pedal. My favorite 2 wah pedals are the Dunlop 105Q Cry Baby Bass Wah and the new Dunlop JCT95 Justin Chancellor Cry Baby Wah. Love and Respect to you from dB

    Nice video man! also badass playing! I'm in the market for getting some effects going for life shows on my bone. Primarily thinking reverb for my clean sound, an overdrive (or other distortion type) for ruckus jam, and a harmony (multiple options for pitch shift/octave/intervals). Is this one good and simple for live shows? if not do you got some recommendations?

      Thanks for the kind words Siegfriend. I would say learn as much tradition as you can. Transcribe your favorite trumpet players. Legends like Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Clifford Brown, Fats Navarro Donald Byrd, Kenny Dorham, Freddie Hubbard, Lee Morgan, Woody etc. Learn as much Harmony as you can then work on a harmonic conception, melodic conception and rhythmic conception. Yep!! 💯 🎺 ❤️
