Great sounding group. Your bone and bass players are amazing (you too). I use AMT Q7 mini as well (sax). Never thought I could get away with piping its output straight into my Quintessence (also first in my chain). I use VocoLoco to manage the effects loop (and the impedance match to the board). More things to try! Nice vid!
That’s a good question. I am a believer of using effects as a sparingly used compliment to the sound and need of the music. What would you want to accomplish with it? Start there.
Great video, man! Also, shout out to Kim!!! I came to this video because I needed to research effects pedals with my trumpet and then saw an old friend! So glad you got her on the album. She sounds so good!
@@JasonKlobnakMusicInc yeah brother! You've got good information, enjoyable videos, no excess rambling, and you genuinely convey the joy of jazz and trumpet throughout. One of the best educational channels I've seen, for sure! Any chance you teach via zoom or Skype? I'd love to get a pedal effects lesson from you sometime. I don't have much of a setup yet, but that's half because I'm so dang green with electronics to begin with haha
@@BlackBearCustomKydex Right on man, I appreciate it! I do teach via Zoom. While I wouldn't mind doing a lesson on pedal setup; I do recommend horn players check out my guys at @hornfx on RUclips or other socials when it comes to pedals.
I don't think there's a pedal that gives an authentic 1 octave up sound out there. But, the one I use and think is the best for that would be the Pitchfork.
A trumpet sound that is not altered by an effects pedal. In the pedal world, this is also known as the level of 'dry' vs. 'wet' (which would be the effect) and a balance of those two.
@@JasonKlobnakMusicInc I just thought it was weird and maybe amusing to be searching for effects pedals for horns and get matches on the Horn effect, a cognitive bias.

Man, the bit around 8 minutes I couldn't pay attention to anything but the bass. Phenomenal tone and groove!!!
Haha - no worries, glad you dig it!

Thank you for checking out the video and the compliments on the band! I have a friend that uses the VocoLoco and loves it too.
I like the crazy idea of Silent brass + Chorus-Flanger- Wah- Fuzz-reverb chain or the Surf rock lead chain set up! OHHHHH Also Heavy metal!
Those can absolutely work! I'm not a fan of the Silent Brass, but that's just a personal opinion. If it works for you then go for it.
Hi, great video! what's a good guitar pedal for cumbia trumpets? thanks in advance!

@@JasonKlobnakMusicInc watched about 10 of your vids last night. I don't have a problem... 🤣
@@BlackBearCustomKydex That's not a problem in my book - hopefully they've been beneficial for you in some way!

what’s the best pedal to give a good 1 octave up sound on trumpet played through a microphone?

Sonaaa!
What do you mean by “clean trumpet sound”?
A trumpet sound that is not altered by an effects pedal. In the pedal world, this is also known as the level of 'dry' vs. 'wet' (which would be the effect) and a balance of those two.
What pedals is your bassist Kim using?
That's a good question - I'll ask
I was curious that the inside of your bell is black.
That's a signature of B.A.C. instruments.
you like hold and blow to trumpet but prefer sound like electric keyboard 😂
I still prefer to sound like a trumpet (which was pointed out in the video) and use effects to add when appropriate 🤔
@@JasonKlobnakMusicInc we love your vlogs man!
@@Zen.0N Thanks for watching them!
Get a flanger on the brass it will blow your mind!
@@JasonKlobnakMusicInc Still though you should try.. an Ambiente effects chain
Have you heard of this effect? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horn_effect
Yes, but not sure what the relevance is to this topic?
