- Ernie Vigil takes on the NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally on the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE. After 5 days and 1,347 Miles of grueling racing across the punishing Baja peninsula Ernie brings the big Scrambler wearing #278 home in 5th place, proving it can not only be competitive, but truly belong.
Congratulations Ernie! You are a true hero! Congratulations also to Triumph for having the guts to enter the bike too!
Proof that this bike is capable of big things and Ernie is more than a stunter!!
My goodness... what a rider but man that bike is beautiful. Not just stunning but stunningly capable. I'll own that bike one day.
Ive seen many commentators claiming the scrambler xe has little offroad credentials. Well Mr Vigil you sure proved them wrong.
Steve McQueen would be proud... Kudos to Triumph for keeping the spirit of the Scramblers alive. Begs the question whether the Scrambler 1200XE is the better globe trotter and go anywhere bike compared to the humongous Tiger XCX, Explorer and other overweight ADV bikes!!
The XCX and the 1200 Scrambler share a similar weight and height. Its optically lighter- thats all.
I was told there has been a few attempts to do this race on the Tiger with terrible results.
@@motoworld1 it might not just be the weight alone but how it's distributed as well, right? The tiger is front heavy and can't have the same off-road agility as the scrambler.
And Not to mention Bud Ekins
This over any adv, just my personal preference
Amazing bikes, I love my Triumphs! I’ve had Ducati’s, Suzuki’s, yammis, Honda’s, 36 in all and I’ve never had one problem with any of my Triumphs. The one bike I regret selling the most; Triumph.. The detail, quality and passion that goes into these bikes is unparalleled. Entering this bike with Ernie riding was a stroke of genius. I think he’s the Chuck Norris of motorcycles..
Hallelujah !!! at last a video that told me EXACTLY what I needed to know. Fantastic riding skills there especially on the mighty Triumph love the bike this has eventually made my decision up for me. Ernie that was awesome congratulations great result Respect ✊🤙🇬🇧
Ernie the control you had on the motorcycle was amazing to watch! 😍
Great riding AND cinematography!
GOD What a pilot man. What a video!!!
Excellent work and thank you for keeping the great Triumph scrambler alive and competitive
Well done Ernie and well done Triumph! The real deal, top five in Open Modern Motorcycle Class!
Congratulations Ernie!!! awesome riding!!! Cool Bike too!
Awesome machine and fun to ride
awesome bike,
i have the XC, and it can do the same.
love these bikes.
What a great effort, cudos to you dude from downunder.
#278. Nice! The legend continues!
That was cool as shit; the camera work on this video was really good. Props to them
What an absolute blast that looked.
Further proof of just what a capable bike this is.
Interesting how they ended up using that paint scheme as the 007 limited edition number from a modern iteration of McQueen's ISDT TR6 used for this rally. Cracking bike though, did see it at the Birmingham NEC event in 2019
"It's not the bike, it's the rider!"
I would call it a great combination, but jeez hes a great rider.
I LOOOOOOOVE MY XE! In 6 months I’ve racked 7500 miles and I don’t plan on stopping going into Winter! I’ve nicknamed it The Bison and she’s a Badass🤘🏾
Now do this video without the music...I just need to hear that motor...
Same *_*
I was blown away by Ernie's skills to even notice that, but I agree they sound awesome.
Great job! 👍
Well done, Ernie!
cant wait for this thing to be available in brazil

I've seen a lot of videos of these Triumph Scramblers in Baja tracks.. But if I want to buy one in Mexico I have only one place to go in the whole country, and it's far from baja...
dream dream dream
Where’s all the whoops film reel
Eso es la Baja 1000, no México 1000 babas
Would have been better if it was a sportster!
