Christmas-tree lots are overpriced and crowded, so rather than going to Home Depot to snag their trees, Zack and Ari head to the Sierra Nevada on an ADV odd couple - Honda’s Africa Twin 1100 and Triumph’s Scrambler 1200 XE.

I love this show.
The fact they are both legit friends gives this a whole feeling of being there.
Nice job.
Yup, the friendship is the magic ingredient. That and Spenser's editing!
They are the best!
who else here just absolutely loves this duo
Literally all of us
Best goddamn bike review duo in the goddamn World!
Total pros
They are the ONLY reason I watch this channel. & I don't even ride anymore.
One of the best personality duos. The best in motorcycling
Love these dudes. Also whoever put in the eagle sound at the jump after 7:12 needs a raise.
Common error. Eagles don’t make that sound. It’s a hawk. Eagles make a wussy sound.
10 months still no raise, but thank you🙏
I was thinking the same exact thing! That eagle sound was on par!
Guess the borders being closed stopped this from being an amazing crossover episode to go meet up with Ryan F9 in the real great white north to get a tree.
DO IT!
LET THESE 3 NATIONAL TREASURES COME TOGETHER!!
Ari, Sturg, and Ryan have done a couple podcasts together on the Revzilla channel
@@JumpingWatermelons didnt revzilla buy ryan F9 RUclips channel or company? I dont remember but I thought they mentioned it on that podcast
@@richhozzy480 IDK the exact details but if I understand correctly, Revzilla and Fortnine are owned by the same company. Fortnine is basically the Canadian version of Revzilla. Ryan's videos are Fortnine promotion (though often you really wouldn't know it).. So Ryan is the Canadian version of these American guys (Ari, Sturg, etc.) or, they are the American version of Ryan?
@@JumpingWatermelons Ryan rocks! Eh!
And the goats truly appreciated the gift!! Stipped it clean. Thank you and Happy riding!💚🐐💜
Thanks for having us! I'm still enjoying the cheese we got. It's delicious.
@@AriH211 thanks!! I'm glad you liked it :)
The goats were very cute.
7:20 HATS OFF for that transition! beautiful!
Things I predicted before watching this:-
-gonna be interesting
-Ari will drop his bike
Hey! I... also had those same predictions before we set out on this trip. Lol.
@@AriH211 yoooo Ari!!!
Big fan from Sri Lanka
Haha. Why does he always get the bike with the higher seat height in these videos. I swear it's for the lols.
7:22 was an amazing transition.
That's it folks - scramblers with big wheels and travel are ADV bikes. You heard it here.
I mean... who doesn't like a naked adventure?
Aye papa yams!
Awesome video & well done. Seeing well experienced riders such as yourselves have the same kind of struggles in a single day just makes me appreciate the “Long Way” series’s that Ewan & Charlie accomplished even more.
My favorite motorcycle duo are back at it again! Thank you, thank you, Revzilla for rescuing them from beyond the paywall of Motor Trend.
No, it's the other way around!
Thank you Zack and Ari for elevating Revzilla for me. Because of your association with Revzilla, I have become a dedicated loyal customer...before u guys, it was just a competitor and I would prefer shopping with others.
More videos about the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE please!
Things get muuuuch sketchier as the sun sets and trees are awkwardly mounted. I love it. This does nothing to diminish my want for a Scrambler 1200 XE. Plus, also goats.
I know people have said this before, but this is the spiritual successor to classic Top Gear.
FortNine enters the conversation...
I'm sorry, but no.
That Triumph impresses me greatly - and not just due to lower initial expectations. And it does look lovely. Great adventure, more than 'just' a comparo.
Rear suspension is horrible with little travel. The design is rather flawed. Triumph should have used a monoshock. My local dealer has them discounted by 30-40%. You're better off with a Tiger.
@@rusipathan ummm okay I want what your smoking
Great video Revzilla. Always a pleasure to watch these 2 buffoons having so much fun on motorcycles. Also, that transition at 07:21 is remarkably smooth. Was the camera on a track for that shot?
I watched that before seeing your comment and thought the same thing. That was some great camera and editing work 👏🏼
That’s Spenser Robert for ya 💪
Transition so smooth it took me 5 tries to catch it 👏
Great shot. It wasn't on a track though. This is basically a gimbled camera shot thats been edited in post. You zoom in on the actual footage which makes it possible to perfectly line up both shots
Goats eat christmas trees?? Man I want one of those Triumphs.
Yes they do!! And they loved every bite! Please recycle ♻️ your tree :) they make great goat cheese
💚🐐🧀 💜
Goats eat everything.
@@phatcyclist not everything!! In fact they can be quite discriminating, but they do love most trees :)💜🐐😊
@@jollityfarmgoats i believe that 100% but ive also found a sandal and a tin can inside a goat before lol
Ari starting that chainsaw with massive confidence was awesome
what a great episode! Merry Christmas everyone!
Thanks for watching 🙌🌲
This is TopGear if Top Gear was solely for motorcycles. Need more of this!
Every car & bike channel pretty much tries to copy the top gear formula. Kinda like watching kids mimic their favorite tik tok star.
ZAC AND ARI.... I swear to god i love them...
I do to, and not in a gay- way ✌️
@@maldridge7630 I don't even know anymore.. maybe its gay way this time hahaha
These guys are the friendly version of top gear (bbc version). I hope they stick around for a long long time.
This series is the highlight of the weekend for me! Love it
What a Christmas gift for your audience. That slow motion shot of Ari n Zack flying on their motorcycles was just amazing. Thank you and merry Christmas and a happy new year to the entire team of RevZilla💖💗💓❤
19:41 I see the camera man made a smart choice of what bike to take at least
What was it?
@@mj_aussie_coaster_travels8310 looks like a honda crf 250 or 450
Wow this video has everything!! Fun, informative and tension! Fantastic guys 👍
I LOVE my XE. I haven’t gained so many miles on a new bike in such a short time as the ScramblerXE. It’ll be 2 years this coming March and I just scheduled my 20k Miles Service. 4 sets of tires and year around riding!
At what mileage is the valve check and how much you paid for it?
They checked the valves at 10,000miles (First Major Service) but no adjustments were needed. I believe the entire 10k service was around $500US. Oil change, software update, and inspection/adjustment throughout. The 20k will likely involve another valve inspection. Spring time will see set number 5...I’m thinking another set of Continental TrailAttack3s.
@@oso_nomada i am planning on buying one next year nso have started to research about it. It seems that everybody loves it.
These guys always make me feel like a pansy. Riding those big ass bike, on single track in the snow, in the dark come man.
If they'd used the right tires and tire pressure they would've made it look easy
Airing down your tyres does sweet fa on a motorbike and is a good way to get a pinch flat...
7:13 that shot right there man 😌🤌
This is one of those episodes that you really... really... really don't want it to finish. That was TONS of fun to watch!
If you don’t already own a scrambler, save up a bit and get yourself one. As long as you’re at least 5’7 you’ll be good to go. Bought mine in 2020 right before Covid and it changed my life
I live in truckee, which they are in. Great trail network. I can go anywhere on any trail without being worried about getting lost. However please go in the mid summer, because of the snow, and PLEASE SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS. People are struggling here, prices are crazy high. I have an XT225 and it does AMAZING here. Take any bike and have fun! Tons of fireroads, double lane roads, and singletrack to enjoy.
ALSO What they are doing is really hard! Those trails are amazing during the summer but hellish during the winter / fall / spring. They are awesome riders.
15:06 tip: if you gonna cut down a tree - don't.
Uh, normally you cut the whole tree down, not just top it. When getting trees designed for being Christmas trees you grow and manage them yo produce a good symmetrical tree naturally. So steep hillsides aren't used for growing trees that will be coming as a live tree. Hillside on that tree often isn't developed as well as the sunny side that is more exposed. I lived in NW NC where they are grown and achieve max growth a year, altitude and climate greatly affect growth rates... Anyway, maybe it is a western Christmas tree method used by Californian tree seekers, or would you two be "City Slickers" and that is typical of the approach. Not trying to be snarky or negative, just kinda thinking out loud and asking...
Entertaining video combined with a little bit of how do these two bikes handle the task.
I thought to myself when this started, they certainly started late to ho get trees. They will know next time. Also, when it started getting late and approaching dark, I thought,. ...and they were moaning about the air temp on trip up in warmth of the day...once darkness falls they are gonna learn what winter riding is really like.
"DO I NOT HAVE MY HEATED GRIPS ON?!?! COMMON ZACK!"
"Those are $170 accessory."
I'm dying hahahahahahaha!
Come on*
Hey Zach and Ari, there's this cool MC aftermarket and even oem supplier called RevZilla and they sell some nice aftermarket heated grips kit made by Oxford. Put a set on my 19 V-Strom 650XT Touring.
I wish it was financially doable to just have these two dedicated to making series like these. Same thing with the video of them delivering pizzas; just another fantastic video. Everything was perfect
They're finally together...just in time for covid Christmas. Too bad they couldn't get the slow-mo frontal jump shot with the trees on the way back. All the best guys for 2021!!
While backpacking in South East Asia I have seen following transported on motorcycles.
- Family of 4.
- 46 inch TV.
- A desk.
- Small palm tree. Transported upright, balanced by the passenger on the pillion seat.
- A pig.
- Half a cow.
When transporting larger stuff, like a TV or a desk or a tree, they usually have someone on the pillion seat holding the item.
I also saw a fair amount of accidents. No wonder motorcycle accidents is number one cause of premature death in those countries.
I have taken my 2018 Africa twin adventure sports on some major hairy snowy and icy mountain trails out here in Wyoming. She heavy but she gets thru it. Utterly amazes me sometimes how much more capable the bike is than the rider sometimes.
I bet "Dave" would eat for breakfast those bikes even off roading!
I love these guys - it's like top gear (the "old" one) with bikes!
These 2 boys are the reason I subscribed :)
Merry Christmas from Austria to all of you!
Collabs when?
Adventure tour with RyanF9?
Budget Bike Battle with 44Teeth?
Idea: Top Gear style budget challenges where the hosts modify their motorcycles with parts from where? RevZilla, obviously. Discount code hidden in an episode for website traffic?
We love these guys. Take advantage.
Why scrambler and not the tiger?
Amazing! Great story, massive fun to watch.
This came up in my random playlist this morning. I watched it last year when it was new, and after my second watching this year, I think it now belongs with classics like the Charlie Brown Christmas, Emmett Otter, and the Muppets Christmas Carol.
Got myself a 2021 CRF1100L DCT recently, and haven't regret the purchase for a second!
I absolutely love how dramatic and fun and amazing some of the sequences are! Really love the videos with the duo!
for me the best thing about this video is not the tree or the bikes but the Klim Hi-Viz jacket on Ari. Holy moly that sht works, my eye automatically went straight for it everytime....time to rethink my gear.....
didn't notice the hi viz jacket till i read your comment, Not joking, i was focused on the bikes, i could see an absent minded car driver not noticing hi viz gear like i did 👀 im sure its better to have it though 🤭
I moved to a warm State and surf. For a long time I've been thinking about mounting a surf rack to an ADV bike to make it more fun to find surf.
Came back to watch again. Happy holidays everybody!
Great episode! What a mission through a variety of wicked trails, riding conditions and sketchy but fun offroad action. Great music too. Sweet side by side jump, big air!
This kind of quest like top gear now Grand tour but on motorcycles is really awesome. I think more of these contents will bring you more subs. Keep up!
Never a dull report when you guys get out on the bikes.
😂👍even better than usual! Especially liked the eagle scream at the peak of the parallel jump🤙!
12:43 "over head the albatross hangs motionless upon the air" that music is 100% a pink floyd cover.
Right? I thought the same thing when Spenser showed us the first cut of this episode.
That was so much fun to watch! These videos always make me want to go out and ride.
7:15 was one of my favorite parts. Nice touch 👍👍🔥🔥
Glad you did it and not me. Nice to see what my new 1200 XE is capable of, if I ever want to push myself that hard
Hahah I am a tahoe local and you guys got lucky with how little snow there was :) It's usually a snowmobile job!
My brain says AT but my heart says XE! Both amazing bikes, you can't go wrong either or!
Sit on an XE at the store and if you are less than 6' tall, forget it, because a bike lay down is imminent!
Awesome! 20 mins is way too short!!! Want to see longer videos!
I'm just binge watching these guys again, and I gotta say, hiring them was probably the best decision RevZilla could have made.
Wow, the Triumph surprised me on how well it did!
So happy that they made these guys' videos free again
Thanks for the video guys. I still Love my XRR even though it lacks the magical button.
7:21 Brilliant transition. Props to the editor
Ahh, stop making me want bikes I can't currently afford!
Jokes aside that looks like a hoot, not much ice here in Aus though!
Not during xmas haha....
Do you guys even bother with winter?
@@jonnycando ha in most of the county nope. In fact up north it's nicer in winter.
@@Whos-That-Guy I’d probably like a balmy winter so long as summer didn’t roast my potatoes in the bag!
@@jonnycando depends where you are - some parts are tropical, others dessert.. but most Aussie’s just live down in the south east corner where we have a winter and summer & you get snow up in the mountains during winter. Over winter we made a point to ride up to the mountains to see the snow between lockdowns.
I think down here the weather isn’t massively different from California? Further north you go the more tropical though, so less seasonal, more always 30 something and humid. If you cross the mountains and head west it gets drier - Perth out west has great weather! I loved living out there. Hot but rarely too hot summers with little humidity and really mild winters. Most aussies don’t really do winter and just stay home, but because it’s mild it’s pretty great to ride through most places.
never stop making these videos
I love watching you guys rode together! So much fun, please keep it up!
When do we get to see an Ari & Zack zany off-road adventure crossover with Bret Tkacs?
I'd love to see them with @brettkacs
$100 bucks Bret was the camera man on his KTM riding ahead for all the shots then circling back to help pick up the AT! LOL!
1200XE..
The best NAKED ADV bike on the market.
Dude this just convinced me further that the g310 gs was the right move for an adventure bike. I got it this year and I can blitz trails like these like nobodies business. I reckon no difference in riding experience or knowledge compares to the difference weight like that makes. Hats off to ya for takin them beasties that far out.
So cool to see my local trails in a video
OT: This video transition starting at 7:21 is a masterpiece!
Man that Triumph looks like a supermodel, but do this again on a Himalayan and you will be smiling ear to ear.
Honda should make an ad with a Husqvarna chainsaw strapped to an Africa Twin - "Husqvarna: they can also be reliable"
They should do some contest where the winner gets to go along on one of their adventures.
Really fantastic production and story. These are great to watch.
What an utterly fantastic watch guys. Thoroughly entertaining, funny, and still managing a great quality review. I'm stuck in Cairo, home to the UK tomorrow after 24 years working away from my family AND with an Africa Twin waiting for me. Our Christmas Tree for the last 10 years or so is in the loft. In 3 pieces. In a box. I am an "Expert" now and it can be assembled in 5 minutes 🤣😂. Trust me guys - I've had my Christmas Tree traumas over the years, but I'm sure you'll be the same when you're my age 😁. Thank you both for the outstanding video. Just brilliant. No other words.
So much fun! Great Episode.
Not a fan of cutting down trees even when they are farmed for Christmas. Excellent video for anyone whom only has a bike to cut and transport a tree 🤘🏽. Never knew Goats eat pine trees.
The Scrambler is just so much more desirable. It's definitely what I'd buy if I were in the ADV market.
I love that the triumph isnt just form over function
Love this two together when they ride
The sound of the triumph ❤️
I dropped my AT exactly once. Not an experience I wish to repeat. She's a big beastie.
First time I saw one of you put a foot down in the snow I thought, "A set of YakTrax on their motorcycle boots would be good."
I discovered you guys on Motortrend, after you show ended I thought that would be it. Now can see you for free on here :)
Motortrend has alienated everyone outside of the Nth America with its cancellation of streaming accounts later 2021 due.
The more RUclips shows like this for free is brilliant :)
End beneficiaries of the one conifer: "Greatest of all Trees." GOAT. ;)
Fear the man who can start a chainsaw on the first pull
I’ve been doing some snowy riding on my 2017 Africa Twin. I’ve found that the Dunlop Missions are very capable in the snow.
My two favorite people to watch! I hope you guys NEVER seperate
I haven't seen a more american thing than that on 7:14. Awesome.
I just rewatched the whole video just cuz the thumbnail is sooo daamnnnn gooooddddd!!!
Fantastic my brother's! Great review. You guys are the Dynamic Duo of motorcycle testing and have been for years. And thank you Rev for making sure our boys did not get split up. Merry Christmas to you all!
These two and Chris from Bike World are the best motorcycle reviewers!
Thanks for the awesome adventure!!! Good Ol fashion motorcycle fun.
Very nice review, not the usual riding on the road boredom that I do not care about at all! And Lake Tahoe - I just love it!
I love my KTM 1290 SAR, but the size and weight of it is sometimes a challenge. I love the looks of the Triumph!
Jeez look at the video quality on this one. Friggin nice framing and high quality equipment ftw
Tandem jump eagle cry is the highlight of my day.
Love the shows and interaction between you guys.
